Heck,I'd have even been OK with 3 stars, not thrilled, but at least it would mean they were meeting the minimum requirements in caring for my mother. Some of you know that my disabled mom had an accident when traveling here for Thanksgiving. For those of you that don't, she fell on the plane and fractured her hip and shoulder. Her 4 day vacation turned into nearly 4 months of hell. And the majority of those 4 months were at Heritage Club Mountain View. It was miserable for her living there and miserable to me visiting. First I'll address the planning staff. My mom has been disabled for 14 years due to a stroke. She has as much ability as she was able to recover. I explained this numerous times to the physical therapy department, and the therapist. I also recommended they get in touch with her therapists/care takers back home to give her the best care. They didn't and they treated her like these were new disabilities, prescribing speech therapy and other therapies she hasn't had in many years. It wasn't until her POA told them to give her what she needs to go home that they stopped the additional services. Then there was the pressure sore. While it appears the sore developed while she was at the hospital, the sore got progressively worse while in their care, when she returned home, it was tested and was positive for e-coli. It took her care at home 2 days to get this settled. She was at the other place for almost 4 months and while they may have treated it minimally, it appears they never once tested it for e-coli. Finally there is just how she was treated. I know being a CNA can be a thankless job, but if that is your career choice, please treat your patients with dignity and respect. My mom complained about a couple of people and while I didn't see them treat HER poorly, I believe her since I saw these same people treat other patients poorly. The truth is, my mom was miserable, she was away from the comforts of her home for 4 months. She was sad and scared. Show a little compassion! Oh and the director threatening me with calling the police should I try to take her out before they release her was a lovely touch as well. Yes, 4 months after she returned home, I'm still a bit upset. But I believe I've distanced myself enough from this to write a mostly useful review without it being a rant. I'm hoping by doing so I help that one person that may be looking for a facility for a family member will choose another caring, more attentive community.

You know our beloved older family members living in a retirement home like Springbrooke have very little to look forward to, yet the one thing they have to look forward to is good food. At Springbrooke they are failing miserably at this, the soup I had was absolutely bland, had no seasoning and was cold, and I mean cold, not even warm. My Chicken was severly overcooked, flavorless, un seasoned and literally so dry I dont think there is enough sauce in Denver to help it. The vegetables were un seasoned, they obviously came out of a frozen bag, and were cooked to the point of being MUSH. My aunt said this was par for the course and told me that breakfast is even worse. Our server, an Ethiopian lady who was at least pleasant, when I complained about how dry and horrible my chicken was explained to me "That is how our chef cooks the chicken here, that is how our residents like it" and did nothing to even offer me something else or to replace it with a better piece of chicken. * My Aunt told me that they are now on the 3rd or 4th Chef since she has been there in only 2.5 years, she said when she moved in the food was average, then she explained the food was absolutely wonderful for around 6-9 months when they hired a great chef, but then that Chef quit and the new chef is absolutely horrendous. I hope someone in a position of power reads this and can talk to the chef. My Aunt likely does not have long left on earth, and we want her to get the most enjoyment she can in the time she has left, and the poor quality of food, the dirty living conditions, and the lackluster and poorly trained dining staff are not going to achieve that.... Thank you Darrold Sutherfield

He helped us move my grandfather in and was so kind. I heard he put in his notice because of how poorly they treated him. They bullied Mikayla as well and fired her 2 days pregnant before Christmas. Pretty sad. I can see these ladies being awful with customer service and never cared about the residents but just money. When my grandfather passed the HR director Juana said when can we be moved out by? WOW. You guys are so classless. COGIR is the worst thing that happened to this place. You guys are an awful company with no morals. You had an amazing staff and you let it go down the drain.

This review is based off of the tour of memory care and not assisted living. The sales lady was fairly new to HighPointe. We had a pretty good meeting in a common area by the main entry. I explained my relative was diagnosed in 2011 with Alzheimer's related dementia but was (and still is) in great health otherwise. She explained they have 5 levels of care (the most number of care levels out of any place we toured). The top level being $2500.00 a month in addition to the monthly room/board rate. She said based off of what I told her - my relative would probably need HighPointe's top care level at $2500.00 a month? I thought - what? Number one - you're not a nurse and number two - you haven't even done an assessment?? Finally got to tour memory care. So you have to have someone access the 3rd floor via the elevators both going to and leaving memory care - they will not give family members the code (another story related to that later). Memory care is very nice - entire floor U shaped with central dining and activity areas and a nice outdoor patio. The sales lady did not acknowledge any care givers or residents by name. There are only 4 care givers for 30 residents (a low ratio of care givers). The smallest studios are TINY - maybe 180 sq feet. It was depressing to look at. Yes they have larger studios/rooms but the $ amount per month goes up per square footage. Note to HighPointe family - when building additional new communities - design all memory care suites the same size . Your five room choice pricing with additional five care level of pricing is ridiculous. Have your architect spend a week in a memory care community. I inquired with sales lady L - so how do four care givers know what level of care all 30 residents are needing and paying for? Her reply was "they just do". Really? Care givers don't get paid much no matter where they work - so do they honestly know that Bob is a 3, Pat is a 5, Larry is a 1, etc etc? Ok so doing the math - a mid size studio along with level 5 care (which sales person said my relative would need) would put us at over $7000 a month? So we found a community within a mile of HighPointe; -has all inclusive pricing - no care levels and under $6k a month. -all rooms are exact same size in memory care -there are 4 care givers for twenty residents (much better ratio) Recently met the daughter of a resident who said she did her "due diligence " and had selected HighPointe for her mom who probably is at stage 6 with Alzheimer's. She said her mom became so severely dehydrated due to lack of care at HighPointe that she ended up in the hospital for over a week. She moved her to where we are and is so much happier with the care. Met a Director of Nursing for another community who said he had to do an assessment of a HighPointe resident for his community and he had to wait 15 minutes for elevator access to leave the memory care secured area. HighPointe you are a beautiful community but as previous reviews on Yelp and other websites point out - your memory care structure and set up needs some help. When I visited - three of your four care givers were just standing (one was seated) around. I thought to myself "where are the 25 residents and what are they doing".
