Interesting new restaurants that pop up in the Westminster area always pique my interest, and The Crab House was a new addition to the location - I'm a big fan of cajun and seafood flavors, and Westminster isn't super know for having seafood restaurants, so I was definitely excited to try this place out! I've been to the Crab House on two separate occasions, so I think I have a decent holistic view of this restaurant. The restaurant isn't very busy on my two visits (a Saturday and a Sunday around 7pm), so there isn't a wait time and you're likely to get seated almost immediately if you decide to stop by. The service is fast around the times I have visited, and after ordering, you should receive your food in about 5-15 minutes. As other reviews have mentioned, the decorations and interior are a bit corny for a seafood restaurant, but I think it gives this place a certain whimsical charm. I've been able to try the Combos and Po'Boys which I'll review down below: Seafood Boil Combo ($53): The boil comes out to a decent size - split between four people, may be a bit underwhelming since the boil is mostly shellfish and looks to be more than it actually is. Since it is a boil, you get some gloves and a bib to put on, just be prepared to get messy. I thought the flavor was pretty tasty! We got the All In One sauce, which I thought had a nice and tangy garlic flavor with a decent and warming heat. There are also halved Yukon potatoes, headless shrimp, and corn cobs underneath the seafood - these really soak up the sauce. For $53, it is decent given the amount and variety of seafood that you can get here. Shrimp Po'Boy ($11): Similar to the boil combo, it is a little bit underwhelming since the sandwich was a bit smaller than I expected, you only get like 4-5 pieces of shrimp in your sandwich - but the shrimp was fried nicely and the sandwich was hot coming out. There isn't a lot of sauce on the shrimp, so you may feel like you are wanting a bit more dimension to the sandwich. Overall, I thought it was a decent place to fix your cajun/seafood craving in the Wesminster and Broomfield area - you'll probably spent around $11 - $25 for a decent meal here. Though next time, I would just stick with the boil as it seems like what they are best at here.

I didn't order the regular menu. But the crab house authentic Chinese menu is amazing. The best I had in CO. The chef was executive head chef at five star hotel. Everything is so good. I am looking forward the next dine experience and will preorder something is not listed on the menu. Don't fooled by the seafood boil menu. The Chinese authentic food is the real gem in this restaurant

I had been waning to try this place for quite some time now, so we stopped in this evening for dinner. I ordered the Crab House Basket, my wife ordered the Shrimp basket, and we also ordered s side of Hush puppies. My meal came with Catfish, Shrimp, and Fried Oysters. The overall atmosphere was nice and inviting, the staff was friendly, and the food came out in a decent amount of time. We started out with the Hush Puppies, which were very good and had a good flavor to them. However the rest of the food, was lacking flavor, and seemed to be a little bland. We felt with a little more seasoning in the batter, our fried food could've been a better experience. Unfortunately, that is the only reason for the three star rating,

This seafood restaurant is simply outstanding! Top-notch service, great atmosphere, and delicious food. Highly recommend!

We ordered a pound of shrimp w/ heads, pound of snow crab and a pound of king crab with all in sauce and hot! It was very delicious, lots of flavor and very good spice level for my Mexican taste buds the snow crab was our fave! We also ordered the chicken fried rice and Cajun fries - the fried rice was excellent! Very well seasoned and I ate it to cool down my mouth from the spicy boil I would definitely come here just to order some fried rice. My partner was raving about how tender the chicken was. The Cajun fries came out hot and crispy we added the Cajun seasoning they had on the table and I really liked their sauce that came with the fries! Overall was a great experience, I would have appreciated a second refill on my soda but that's all I can complain about . This place will be my go to place for seafood now! I recommend %

I so wanted to be able to leave a good review, but alas, this was very disappointing. Asian cuisine…read moreand Cajun cuisine are both known for bold flavors and seasoning. Asian Cajun has neither. $20 for the fried oyster platter: the smallest flavorless oysters ever, obviously bought from SISCO, and a small handful of Cajun fries that I needed to dunk in ketchup, and if I need to use ketchup on your fries, that is a very bad sign, as I rarely use ketchup. I know from talking to the owner that the fries are $4 and you get a small handful. $16 for a soft shell crab basket: The difference between a basket and a platter is that the basket does not come with fries. These were small, overcooked, super oily crabs that tasted okay when dipped in their remoulade sauce. But nothing a Cajun or an Asian would say was seasoned properly. $50 for 3lbs of crawfish boil: I got the "all in" sauce, but could not taste any garlic, lemon, or Cajun seasoning. This is Prime time for Crawfish supposed to be the largest and best crawfish, harvested right now (but these were probably imported frozen from China; the shells were super soft and clung to the meat like previously frozen, cheap crawfish). There were a couple of medium to large crawfish in the bowl, and the rest were tiny, as small or smaller than my pinky finger. When you cook really small crawfish with medium to large crawfish, the little ones get mushy and are very hard to peel, and fall apart with the shell. $5 for added broccoli, which appeared to be frozen, thawed broccoli that turned to mush when cooked with the crawfish. When I got home, I added MSG and Old Bay seasoning to the bag, so hopefully it will taste better later. (I peeled all the crawfish there to make eating later easier and less messy.) You can buy a pound of frozen crawfish tails from Louisiana for $25 and get a ton more meat, much higher quality meat. $3.50 for a Diet Coke and $1.00 per refill. That is criminal pricing for the item on your menu with the highest margin of profit, and they do not tell you beforehand that refills are extra. And the waitress was so reluctant to get me refills, at one point, I had to walk to the counter to get a refill. They were not super busy, but she (the owner) was the only person working the front of the house. Three not very large sodas for $5.50 total... Circle K sells a 44-ounce soda for $1, tax included, and I am sure they still make a profit. Angel (the owner) was super friendly except for when asking for refills, but took a really long time to get back to me for anything. It was nice that she brought the check to the table and took my payment there instead of at the counter, since I walk with a cane. But no amount of friendliness, cleanliness, or nice decor will overcome bad food, especially at these prices.

I came in on a very busy day of the year so am rounding up since the staff was working really hard to get orders out the door. I ordered a large chicken pho and roasted pork fresh spring rolls to go. The portion of pho broth and bean sprouts was great, but the amount of chicken was a bit disappointing (about 6 total pieces of shredded chicken). Broth was just ok, I added quite a bit of sriracha, lime, basil, and hoisin sauce and still felt it lacked some flavor. The spring roll portion size was great and I loved the massive serving of peanut sauce. The roasted pork inside was incredibly dry. I'd probably opt for tofu or shrimp next time.

In fact, we didn't eat anything that wasn't well seasoned, cooked to order and authentically British. Not an easy find, if you ask me. The service is a little stiff and slow but what can you expect from a pub style restaurant. It can get pretty busy inside especially around holidays so definitely make a reservation if you plan on having a big party or don't want to sit at the bar. As far as English/Irish food goes this the only serious contender in the area, i haven't found another UK restaurant that quite mimics the pub atmosphere as well as this one. Overall: Not fully what I expected for hotpot (more details below) but they give generous meat…read moreportions and good service. Would come to back to try their Korean dishes but would prefer to go elsewhere for hotpot unless a friend has a strong preference for this place. Food Cuisine: I was expecting either Korean hotpot (Jeongol) or Korean Chinese fusion because of it being a Korean restaurant and their main selling point - AYCE hotpot. It seemed like they tried to do something between regular Chinese hotpot (but without the in-your-face bold broth flavors) and Japanese shabu shabu (but minus the ponzu and simple, straightforward flavors) with some side Korean kimchi. They also had some typical Korean dishes and lots of alcohol options. The broth: None of the four broths we tried had a wow factor. Maybe the mushroom was the one to try. -Bulgogi is mainly salty and not well flavored. I don't taste any reminisce of a bulgogi flavor. My partner thought it was basic but he thoroughly enjoyed it. -Miso was good but it's hard to get that wrong. -Spicy Thai tomato flavor was okay. -Yuzu jalapeno was also okay but it was novel. It reminded me of a lighter and less rich version of Tom kha soup with yuzu and jalapeno instead of lime, lemongrass, galangal, and chili. The meats: Generous portions or maybe they're good at gauging the right portion for the number of people. We only had to make one meat order (lamb, pork belly, tripe, beef) during our order for a group of four and we ate every bit of it. The hotpot ingredients in the back: A decent variety of veggies, mushrooms, meat/seafood balls, seafood, and noodles. All seemed to be washed well and fresh. The sauce bar: Decent selection. A couple of interesting, not-so-typical sauces and mostly typical hotpot sauces. Service: Every table has a service button and an ordering tablet so you don't have to wave anyone down. Very nice staff who stays on top of maintaining the food and area. Space: Lots of seating. Leg room is not great for tall people unless you sit on the ends. Personal Note: Group vote - half of us liked the hotpot and would come back for the hotpot here and the other half of us were not into the broths and would prefer to do hotpot elsewhere. Note: The half that would not come back are the ones who grew up eating hotpot in the US and in Asia (we've tried Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese style hotpots), so that might make us two more critical with higher expectations.
