I had to get up and get our table napkins. Extended wait times between check ins and refills. The ugly - after everyone was finished, our server checked in, but never cleared the empty glasses, dishes and boil bags. I had to clear our table to an empty table with trays on it. Overall, the food was good; Dungeness Crab, scallops, clams and a lobster tail were delicious. My tall beer was $10, which is a bit high. Iced tea was $3 each, higher than normal. My visit was marred by unprofessional and rude service from the staff members on duty. When I politely requested lemons, my request was met with dismissiveness. Furthermore, when we raised a concern regarding the quality of the fried rice which appeared to be plain white rice with frozen vegetables rather than the fried rice we have received in the past our concerns were ignored, and our request for a simple substitution of fries was flatly refused. I was also shocked to see additional line items on our bill for requests that are standard in the service industry. Specifically, I was charged $1.00 for a request for "extra crispy" fries, and I have previously been charged for simple accompaniments like lemons. Charging customers for basic food preparation preferences feels both petty and indicative of a lack of commitment to customer satisfaction. The combination of hostile service, a significant decline in food quality, and the nickel-and-diming of standard requests has made it clear that I will not be returning to your business. I believe it is important for you to be aware of how these practices are impacting long-term customers. The paella marisco had a strong seafood taste which was unfortunate and no saffron flavor. Mussels also had a strong seafood taste and small, so they were probably frozen. The patas bravas, bacon wrapped dates, charcuterie and cheese, and albondigas were fine nothing special. The burnt basque cheesecake could have used a strawberry sauce. Service was good, and food was actually quick for the most part. For the price and okay food, I would probably go to a different Spanish tapas place in town.
