Ordered delivery from Grubhub - chose the Pick Any 2 and got 1 lb headless shrimp and 1/2 lb snow crab with potatoes. It was $31 but if you order through The Crab Pad's site and in restaurant, it should be $29. (We have the Grubhub+ membership) Crab legs are always a lot of work but I enjoyed it, and can't go wrong with the headless shrimp. All of which are nothing if it wasn't for the seasoning! We chose the CrabPad Style with mild/medium spice level. Truly the BEST I have ever had!! No shame but at the end, my husband and I literally used our hands as a shovel and ate ALL the seasoning...it was that good. So let me start my giving kudos to such a great staff. They were very friendly and accommodating. They treated us very well. Our waitress was phenomenal (I wished I remembered her name). We sat next to an open door and I was chilly but my crew said they were comfortable. The place was smaller than I had imagined but cozy. If you come make sure you have a reservation, that's important. Now about the food. I unfortunately only had an appetizer of the fish, shrimp and tater tots for a personal reason which I won't get into here but the fish and shrimp were delicious the tater tots not so much. They were hard and tasteless. My friends had the crab boil bag which they say was very good but wish there was a little more food (like the shrimp) in the bag. They said for the price there was only a few shrimp there. The overall taste for them was pleasant. They also said that the appetizer sampler they had was very good. I ordered that famous popsicle they advertise where you can have it topped with anything you want (it's in the picture) mine was green but had a vanilla cake waffle taste. The food drinks dessert service is great. I love the crab legs in crab pad style medium it's spicy but so worth it So glad the crab fries are back. The mango tea lemonade just slaps. Our server Gerardo was so attentive and friendly, made the already delicious meal even better. You have to leave space for their milk ice cream made in house. My favorite combo is chocolate MILK chocolate glaze fruity pebbles with a dash of condensed milk. Took our son for his bday to The Crab Pad. He loved the January fish special and they gave him a pound bag of shrimp for his bday too. My wife had fish and shrimp basket, this vegan had an amazing veggie bag with a side of pasta noodles. The Crab Pad is outstanding in every way and look forward to going back. One of the best seafood places I've ever been to! We made a reservation for 5 and got seated immediately when we walked in. The service was beyond amazing! I ordered 2 pick twos with one bag containing crabs & mussels (spice level 5) the other had crab & crawfish (spice level 3)added eggs & sausage, garlic noodles & 8 wings (wings only comes in a 4 per flavor portion) during happy hour. The only reason I am giving this spot 3 stars is because of our server Asia. To be honest, I have no idea how this pot has a near 5 star rating. The boil seasoning is flavorless and lacks the Cajun flavor and umami. The king crab was bad. It smelled horrible and was extremely heavily salted to try to make the rotting seafood smell. They charge an extra $1 for extra spicy... but I could not taste any spice... AT ALL... it was very frustrating. The rice smelled old and was seasoned with oil and lemons to get rid of the old rice smell. The elotes were flavorless... just some mayo concoction that didn't work well. We've been here twice so far, once in the restaurant and this time for takeout. We got the quarantine special. This came with 1lb headless shrimp and 1 lb of blue crab. We got it with a side of rice and medium spicy. This was the perfect amount of flavor and spicy. This is one of my favorite places for seafood in a bag. Came in for their happy hour with the kids. They take reservations, so make them if you want to come and want to make sure you have a seat. Make sure you place your order before the happy hour time ends as they said their computer system is set up where the pricing for the happy hour changes to full price when time has passed. Metered parking, which can be difficult. There was a fair going on nearby so husband had to circle a few times before finding parking. Service was a bit slow considering how it wasn't that busy when we arrived. They provide aprons if needed. The happy hour price was good - but I'd avoid the wings. We were disappointed in the wings, it was so so so tiny. Kids loved the loaded tots and garlic noodle. I enjoyed the fish tacos. We did shrimp and mussel with butter sauce in case the kids wanted some. The shrimp wasn't fresh. Kids enjoyed the ice bar at the end. We went to the Crab Pad for a special event with yelp elites. It's a Cajun style Seafood boil restaurant where you get down and dirty with your food. (Yes, that means you eat with your hands). It was great to share a table with my fellow elite yelpers, see old friends and make new ones. We started off with a choice of limeade juice boxes of several flavors from the Crab Pad, which were then made into adults only juice boxes by adding a shot of rum or vodka. The restaurant is BYOB, this was special just for us. We had our own long table, and when they started to pile food on the table, no one knew just what to expect next. The rice, corn, potatoes, sausage and green beans were plentiful and more than enough for everyone. We each received a bag full of shrimp, crawfish and crab legs, with your choice of mild, medium or spicy seasonings. You will be able to choose your own combination from the menu. At the end of the evening, we were treated to ice cream bars from Milk & Wood. You pick a flavorful bar, drizzle it with syrup and top it off with your choice of 9 different toppings. There were some very unusual flavors, but, I had the mint oreo bar. This was a wonderful dessert, and will be a great treat on a warm weather day. Theresa the owner was a wonderful hostess and made sure everyone had enough food and drinks flowing throughout the evening. Anna our wonderful CM was her gracious self and made sure we were all taken care of, we even got to toast her upcoming birthday! I've ordered takeout from here three times since quarantine and there's SOOOOOOOOO much flavor in the bag. My usual that I went for was a pound of snow crab legs and I don't know about everyone else, but it takes me 40 minutes or so to finish. There's something about working for your food (shelling the meat out) that's satisfying - the reward is the crab meat. Two out of the three times I ordered, I opted to add cobbs of corn and potatoes. I'd say both compliment the crab legs well and soaking the potato in the bag's juice is divine. I guess I wish they had the option to sell you crab leg openers. I've bent fork tips and even used a hammer once. I'm learning to utilize what I have, so brownie points for innovation? read more

We arrived at Crab Pad on a weeknight - found street parking to be easy - especially with the new building development going up across the street. We arrived right at about 5pm - so the restaurant was sparse. Its quite a large space with exposed brick and their latest menu prices posted on the chalk board. The Server/hostess said we could sit anywhere since the restaurant was empty. There's a long bench along the left of the restaurant and tables lined along there -so we sat along the bench. We came here for their happy hour special which was a good deal. We ordered fries, chicken wings, Garlic Noodles (the main reason we came because we loved garlic noodles when we were in SF and our kids seem to only eat noodles, and we also ordered a lb of shrimp). For kicks - we also got the made in-house limeade. The order came out in an expected amount of time. The fries - loved the fries - thought they were splendid. Kind of like the fries from the Double-Arch, and the order was quite large - nice for happy hour pricing. The Wings were a highlight - as I would come here just for the wings. Huge - steaming hot fresh from fryer wings and at the happy hour pricing - it was definitely worth it in value. Very tasty as well - give me some rice to go with that tasty garlicy sweet sauce! I liked this so much that I ordered another order to-go. The Garlic noodles were presented quite artistically - which I thought was creative a perfect photo-op upon arriving at the table with the noodles already drawn up w/ plastic forks. Perfect for sharing I imagine as an appetizer. My wife liked them more than I did - as I thought it was a bit too al-dente for my own liking- but it had good taste. The Shrimp was nice and plump and the Crab Pad sauce was not overly spicy. It was a good blend of flavors. I was excited to try this place for it's second anniversary because they had $2 specials. I wanted to reallly love this place, but I couldn't. The food took a while to come out, but that's happened before at other places. The wings took a bit longer. It was okay because the wings were really juicy and good. Although, the lemon pepper ones were too sour. The thai and mango habanero were the best tasting. They give a LOT of fries but seasoning like garlic is extra cost. They didn't taste bad though. The fresh tea lemonade flavored with peach adult capri sun tasted a little off almost like it wasn't sweet enough or something. I can't put my finger on it but there was this bitterness that made it so hard for me to finish my drink but I wanted to try a different flavor. Plus, when I got mine I actually got wayyyy less inside than a couple of other people at my table. Kind of disappointing. We got the Crabpad sauce which was just okay. I thought mixing all the sauces would be an awesome like other cajun places I have been, but this sauce was underwhelming. It didn't help that we got ours in a small bag so we ended up having to dig around the crab legs to get to the small clams. I can say that the crab legs broke very easily when I used my hand to break it and the meat stuck together inside!!! Impressive cooking for that! The one thing that I found was weird was that my boyfriend and I got a small bag for 1 pound crab, 1 pound clams and 1 pound crawfish but my friends sitting across from me got a bigger bag for half pound shrimps, 1 pound clams and 1 pound crawfish. They got less, but we got a smaller bag and it was hard to dig around. I think it's cool that they have Milk and Wood inside. They had unique Asian flavors like Ube, green tea kit kat, pandan, etc. I tried the green tea kit kat and it wasn't bad! There's a big piece of kit kat inside which is a nice bonus. I think it's a cute concept, but it sucks that the ice cream bar was behind our table the whole time. We had to wait to get up which sucked especially when I wanted to go wash my hands. I had to sit and wait for people to finish getting their toppings and most people don't notice they are standing in the way. Another thing that made the experience kind of surprising, and ultimately brought my review down, was that one of my friends spilled his full cup of water on the table and floor and NO WORKER CAME TO HELP. I was surprised a waitress just walked behind and around him to get to her table. I'm sorry - I wanted to like this place, but damn no one said anything along the lines like "oh I'll be back with a mop" or anything to acknowledge it. So I am disappointed since I thought yay! another possible go-to cajun seafood place. Overall, I think it's an okay place. I, honestly, wouldn't go out of my way to go up to Logan Square just to go here. I have had better experiences at other cajun seafood places. $27 you pick two seafood. Came for the Monday special since we were in the neighborhood and we're not disappointed. Quality, flavor and price were all on point. We tried the headless shrimp & crab, and crab & mussels with the dry lemon rub and flavor was rich and decadent even without butter. The lobster was great as well for only a $15 add on. Walking in we were seated and only the second table there. The happy hour menu is pretty good with a lot of food to chose from and even some non-alcoholic drinks as well. A good mix between drinks and food. This place is BYOB so no alcohol served on the menu. You can BYOB for no added fee. We ordered garlic noodles ($4), wings with Thai sauce ($4), fries ($2) and a mango limeade drink ($1.75) from the happy hour menu. The compliment that we also did 1 lb of headless shrimp ($16.99/lb) with the crab pad mild seasoning. The garlic noodles, probably my favorite dish of the evening. Cooked al dente with the right amount of flavor, not too much garlic and the right amount of other flavors as well. It even comes out instagramable worthy. It has the right bite in your mouth. Had crab legs and shrimp with the amazing crab pad special sauce. The rice on the table went great with the extra sauce. I got mint Oreo ice cream to top it off, and it was delicious! I made a reservation for a group of 7 via Yelp and they were able to accommodate us on time. We came at 4pm, so it was right before the dinner rush. By the time we left, around 6:30pm, it was pretty packed. They are BYOB and brought us cups for our drinks right away and would have been quick to take our orders, but we were taking our time and waiting for everyone to arrive. They kept checking on us and explained how everything works. We split orders of Hush Puppies, Mac & Cheese Balls, and Garlic Noodles. I've concluded that Hush Puppies aren't really my thing, but these were some of the better ones I've had. The Mac & Cheese Balls were also done well and the Garlic Noodles were a crowd pleaser. I'd definitely order Garlic Noodles again. I was happy to find that you aren't limited to Mild, Medium, or Spicy. They can do in between heat levels, so I went with Mild-Medium, which was described as a "tickle" of heat. That's what most of us went with, but there was some confused and, despite clarifying she wanted a "tickle," a friend was given Medium-Spicy since she understood it to be Medium Spicy-ness. Another friend wanted Spicy but seemed to get Medium. I'm not entirely sure where the breakdown in communication happened, but it was a little unfortunate to not get exactly what was expected. The bags of seafood came out rather quickly, but it took a long time to pass everything out because of the spice situation and because one of the food runners kept calling different types of seafood different things. For example, she kept saying King Crab instead of Snow Crab. So, we kept saying, "That's not ours" and waiting for everything to get figured out. By the time all the bags were passed out, some of the food was cold. Unfortunately, I don't fully believe that's because it took a little longer to figure out who had what. While everything appeared to be fully cooked, my Snow Crab was only slightly warm and almost everyone's corn was cold. The sausage in my bag was the only thing with any real warmth to it. Nonetheless, it was all edible and it was otherwise enjoyable. I liked the Crab Pad Style sauce, which is just a mixture of all the flavors, and we ordered additional biscuits to soak it all up. If you don't want to put in work or don't like eating with your hands, this is not the place for you. We had shells cracking and flying, sauce all over our hands, and little bits of crumbs and crab residue all over. You're able to wash your hands in a basin in the main dining area or in the bathrooms, but you'll probably still feel as though you have food all over yourself when you're done. I think it's fun, but I can see how others might be turned off by it. The Crab Pad has also partnered with Milk & Wood, so they have a little ice cream bar stand inside and you can pick from over a dozen flavors and then top them to your liking. I got a hibiscus bar with milk chocolate, Fruity Pebbles, shaved coconut, and a condensed milk sauce. It was very good and a nice, light treat after all the deep fried and oily boiled things we ate. All in all, I liked the place. But there are other restaurants that do this a bit better, in my opinion. It ended up being like $53 for myself and all I got was a bag of Snow Crab, a piece of corn, a few sausage pieces, splitting 3 appetizers 7 ways, and my own dessert. This small business is an awesome hidden gem in Logan square. The seafood and hospitality of the staff is so great that it just makes the atmosphere so much more enjoyable I gotta say the biggest surprise about this place is the garlic noodles. I'm sure everyone has their fair share of a simile recipe but I've never had garlic noodles that had this much flavor. The waitress even recommended we dip the noodles in our boil sauce for extra flavor best advice she could've given us. My favorite part had to be the ice cream spot inside the restaurant. You get to pick your base (milk or juice ice cream) cover it with your favorite chocolate and extra toppings with the final top off of condensed milk. They have flavors like mango and guava too - as an added treat you can put tajin and chamoy on top of your ice cream. Such an awesome small business! The Crab Pad looks like a whole adventure, complete with bibs for getting down and dirty with your seafood. Unfortunately, I had dinner before meeting my friends in the area, so we just got their clam chowder fries (garlic seasoning) and crab fries (cajun seasoning) to share amongst us as we hung out and drank our sangria (they're BYOB, which is wonderful). The fries were super delicious and rich, although the cajun seasoning combined with the crab toppings felt like a little much. I think our table liked the clam chowder fries a little better. The service was so lovely, and the waitress was so helpful and friendly and did not mind that we were taking our sweet time as a group of four to eat two packs of fries (and the nearby Milk and Wood popsicles). I love sweets so I try this place. One of my friends recommended this place to me and she likes it. So I tried to come here yesterday since I have no work to do. When I enter there are few customers inside. They have a showroom where you can choose an ice cream topping you want. Since I was so excited I want to try all of those. I choose sprinkles, waffle cones, fruity pebbles, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, coconut and many more. It cost a lot since I tried all of those toppings. It tasted so delicious. While eating I look at some customers' food and one of the noodles looks delicious. It's called Garlic noodles so I tried it and ordered it. And when I tasted it, it was so delicious. Seriously, we never get through the entire bag. I didn't even mind that they don't have a container to place the shells. You have to place the shells on your table, which takes up space at the two-seaters quickly. As with most places like this, there's a sink near yet outside of the bathrooms, making it easy and convenient to wash your hands. There's no such thing as not getting messy here. We placed an order for delivery with 3 separate bags. 2 orders were for 1/2 lbs of snow crab, 1 lbs of crawfish. Both of those orders were so dry, they had almost no sauce at all in them. To the point where I had to melt my own butter and pour it into the bag. My bag has 12 tiny crawfish in it and about 3 handfuls of just arms and legs. Yes, 12 tiny crawfish total. For two, we ordered 1. 1 lb of headed shrimp - it wasn't super fresh. You can see and feel the texture was off... 2. 1 lb of king crab legs - AMAZING! MUST ORDER IT 3. 1 2-lb dungeness crab - average 4. 1 lobster tail - great in the garlic butter sauce 5. side of green beans and potatoes - could have skipped 6. crab rangoon rolls for an appetizer - recommended by the waiter and was very average and definitely not worth getting We ordered everything but the lobster tail in the crab pad sauce. It was so-so and wasn't very absorbed into the food. My friend said the sauce is better elsewhere but the garlic butter sauce was better than other places. The butter was thicker and more flavorful. This was plenty of food for 2 people but we almost finished it. The decor is cute! Tip: 1.
