Food - I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with fried potatoes and an English Muffin. The food was served hot and the English Muffin was toasted exactly as requested (which seldom happens). The omelet was large and tasted very good. Overall - if only I lived in the area, as I would be a regular customer. The food was fresh, made to order and the prices were what you might have found 10-15 years ago. The place is popular. It can be crowded so you may have to wait short minute. Locals say it's this way most of the time. Don't let that put you off. It has that hometown Pittsburgh feel with friendly, quick service. The coffee fresh, hot and never ending. We came for lunch with a small group during the week. The staff rearranged a couple of tables and accommodated us quickly. This is definitely a well loved place with many regular customers. I got the western omelette. It came with home fries and toasts. It was pretty good but didn't impress. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything was also super affordable. My wife and I finally made it out there ( not like it's even far ) and oh boy let me tell you we are sorry! That we didn't get there before! Mary Ann had a cheese steak sandwich ( of course I got to taste it too because she doesn't finish anything ) it was probably the best We've had in a long time. As a rule when I'm trying a new restaurant I pick something basic, my theory is if they can't do the simple they won't get anything else right. I got a club sandwich, stupid easy right? The quality ham and turkey matched up with Fresh tomatoes and crisp lettuce with just enough mayo and crispy bacon to pull it all together. A classic sandwich but executed perfectly. JoJo's Place is a small, local restaurant that serves simple but tasty foods for breakfast (e.g., French toast, oatmeal, bagel sandwich, biscuits and sausage gravy, and country-fried steak) and lunch (e.g., salads, soups, many sandwiches, fried shrimp, and chicken strips). My husband and I ate breakfast here on a Saturday. As expected, we had to wait several minutes for a table to become available. In the meantime, I chatted with two long-time customers in line. I think that JoJo herself served us for most of our meal. She and her employees were very nice and performed their jobs very well. I liked my blueberry pancakes and bacon, and my husband liked his ham-cheese omelette, home fries, and toast. I felt surprised when the customers with whom I had chatted earlier paid my bill for me! This place was really packed when me and my coworker came in to eat. We waited around 5 to 10 minutes before a waiter was able to seat us down. Great breakfast, great price, great folks! This place did it all well. I was at the airport to pick someone up, and their flight was delayed. Searched for a dinerish place for breakfast, that wasn't a chain, and bang, JoJos Place. A little bit of a drive but well worth it. My check was $12, at other breakfast places it would have been $18-20. Everything I got was great omelette, taters and real rye toast. Service was friendly and super quick, and quality of food wasn't affected. When I walked in it was empty, by the time I left, every table was full, and JoJo knew the regulars by name, and their orders without being told! Double thumbs up!!!! read more

I stopped in on a Thursday @ 6:15 am. Greeted and seated, 3 other patrons inside. Jo was very welcoming and made me feel at home. I loved the decorations, the hometown feel, the pictures of servicemen on the walls. I Ordered the Big D Defense, with 4 strips of turkey bacon, and 2 French toast. It was delicious!! Ended up curious about lunch, and noticed on their Facebook the special of the day was a chicken salad croissant. Ordered that with French fries and boy am I glad that I did!!! Jo Jo's Place is a locally owned breakfast restaurant with genuine people and delicious homemade food. I visited this place totally by chance and i was so happy i did. The place itself is not fancy or trendy, but it has cosy and homely feel to it. You can tell from the wait staff to the cooks, they are somebody's grandma and grandpa. They are just so kind and welcoming. The food is delicious and its price is amazingly reasonable. I was totally swept away by their soup of the day. It was vegetable beef and it was so flavorful. My partner even said that he feels warm and fuzzy inside after eating at this place because it gives him that nostalgic home feeling. read more

I stopped in for a quick breakfast one weekday morning and the place was packed! They're clearly very popular, but I was quickly greeted and seated (by who I later learned was Jo Jo herself!). The staff was all very friendly and helpful and even though they had a very large group, as well and many other patrons in there, my breakfast was made quickly. I ordered their bacon egg and cheese bagel, which came with homefries and they were both outstanding! The homefries were easily the best I've had in the Pittsburgh area. The Mr.jojo was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, the Mr jojo is named after the owner, the servers were really kind too, they were always smiling and having a great time. Low prices and lots of food. Typical diner feel complete with sticky tables. The service was a bit disorganized and multiple servers stopped to ask if we had been taken care of but it was the breakfast rush. They had "bussed" the table before seating us,however, as you can see from the picture the former occupants of the table left something behind that didn't get cleaned up. A clean , friendly, mom n pop little restaurant with very well prepared solid offerings at a good if not downright reasonable price point. Jo the owner is always there making sure things are well run and everyone is satisfied. You can tell she enjoys being in the restaurant business and is having fun serving people at her cool little spot.
