    Zesty POM

There is parking available outside the restaurant. Service was fantastic. There is lots of seating available both inside and outside They are good for kids- I see lots of colouring pencils and stuff available. Dog friendly in the patio The zesty POM was not exactly great - tasted a little weird in terms of combination. I had eggs benedict primavera. The hollandaise sauce was a little on the sweet side - the rest of it was fresh. My hubby got the buttermilk pancakes with bacon and eggs The pancakes were very sweet, and they still had powdered sugar on it. The provided syrup was also very sweet. I'm not sure if it's related, but after eating, my hubby got immediately sick at home. I had no problems, but I also had no meat in mine. We might not be back so soon. That said service is great!!

Definitely a sold 4 stars. Food is delicious although super pricey. Service is a hit or miss depending on the server you get. Came here twice over a course of a year and we did enjoy the food. They do have happy hour M-F in the afternoon but the food menu is very limited to only flatbread. The dinner menu is pretty extensive but also very expensive. We ordered a burger and the meatloaf, both were very delicious. Cooked well, tender and not too dry. For the burger, I really loved the sweet tater tots, I could eat a whole basket of that! Dessert was incredible! Service was attentive the first time we went but the second time was super spotty with a different server. Parking is easy and the bathroom are clean.

Awesome atmosphere and the food is excellent! Great service, our server was knowledgeable, quick and anticipated our needs. We came in as a party of 5 and sat inside. It's a fun and lively place and we sampled many different dishes each one unique and incredible! If corn soup is avail I highly recommend it! We ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf which was very good (however very well cooked... but not overdone. The max and cheese is very large and can easily feed 2 adults. It was the best Mac and cheese!! The blt with chicken salad, excellent! Buttermilk fried chicken which melts in your mouth! We also had the spicy tuna appetizer, and meatballs both excellent. The sauce on the meatballs was so good we will be ordering the spaghetti next visit!

This place has really upped their services and quality of food! I am so glad that we are returning to some semblance of normalcy, and am stoked that restaurants are upping their game upon our almost full return *crosses fingers* The Craftsman is a primary example! Though I would say the food is on the pricier side, it is always worth paying the extra for delicious food and a great time. We all ended up ordering burgers, which include the crafty burger and fries. The medium rare was firm on the outside, warm and red in the center (just as I like), juicy and flavorable. The fries were super crispy and there was enough for to go (always a plus!) My sister ordered the gluten free margherita pizza, which is light and doesn't leave you feeling guilty at the end! Last but not least, I love the butterscotch pudding - which is such a simple and elegant dessert! Yummy!

Brussels sprouts are the best part. The salads have gotten a little smaller but overall it's great.

One is a nice, sit-down restaurant. One is a coffee house. The third is the Pocket Pool and Bar. We found the service to be good, but we really didn't enjoy the drinks. The space was rather empty in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. We received coupons good for two welcome beverages at The Pocket when checking in at the resort. When we arrived at The Pocket after checking in but while waiting for our room to be ready, we found ourselves to be the only guests there. No reservations were needed. The clouds were out but it would soon be nice and sunny. We sat down and each ordered a zero proof cocktail. The ask was for something fruity and sweet. We ordered a variation of the Feeling Peachy, consisting of peach puree, citrus, mint, and bubbles. We did choose to give the bartender the freedom to make drinks that would be fruity and sweet as none of the drinks on the menu sounded like what we were feeling for. The bartender brought us drinks that we tried and decided we wouldn't have ordered if we didn't have vouchers for free drinks. As such, we acknowledged they weren't for us, though if we would have paid for them, we would have been disappointed. As such, I'd encourage anyone ordering drinks at The Pocket to stick with drinks on the menu. Speaking of the menu, the menu offers beach bites like smashed guacamole, craklin' buffalo wings, elote fries, quesadilla, sunset ceviche, and dirty nachos. The main event dishes include blackened Baja fish tacos, the wagyu double smash, millionaire's BLT, coastal Cali burrito, and Pacific poke. The balanced-ish menu items include pocket Caesar, the wedge, paradise bowl, and the Santorini. Treat Yourself dishes include cookie sando, assorted fresh fruit, and seasonal sorbet. Beverages include cocktails, wine, drafts, cans, zero proof. The Pocket is a surf-inspired bar with a view. There are televisions to watch sports games, and with the bar being part indoors and part outdoors, you can catch the nice weather or escape from it depending on if it is sunny or rainy. You can make a reservation on OpenTable. The bar hours are open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM. The kitchen is open Monday through Thursday from 12 noon to 6 PM, Friday and Saturday from 12 noon to 7:30 PM, and Sunday from 12 noon to 6 PM. Should we visit the Alila Maria Beach Resort Encinitas again, we may give The Pocket a try again but more for the atmosphere, good service, and perhaps some bites instead of drinks.

Overall, the atmosphere was a little off for me. I felt like the restaurant was a little cluttered with stuff and too eclectic. There were too many different patterns on the walls. LOL. No but seriously, I am completely and utterly in-love with this place. I am a huge sandwich person but so I am particular about where I go. Has to ya know, check alllll the boxes etc. Ernie's has stolen my sammy-heart. I believe I've had every single sandwich on the menu at this point and I enjoyed every single one of them. If I HAD to choose my favorite sandwich, they would be these: -Italian on Dutch crunch roll -Crispy chicken caesar on Dutch crunch roll -Curry chicken salad on focaccia -Tuna on sourdough ( always add the hot pepper salad) *I love the dutch crunch roll for any of the sandwiches but the focaccia also steals the show quite often. I've been here for dinner as well and my recommendations would be: -Charcuterie board -Bruschetta boards ( you pick 2) but my faves are the prosciutto one (the prosciutto is chopped up super small so it's perfect and not all stringy like it can be at times) which comes with mascarpone, pistachios, arugula and lemon curd. My other fave is the brie, green apple with honey and sea salt. Another thing to mention is I'm not a huge brie person BUT I adore it if it's triple cream brie. This my friends, is triple cream so it's fantastic. -The fries are also fantastic and the chocolate chip cookies are fire. I'm not even a sweets person but I inhaled it when I tried it. It was delish. -Italian chopped salad- so good and really light but somehow filling at the same time. In the best way possible. I get it all the time. They have a huge wine selection both at the bar and in their fridge section which you can browse while you're in line. They have a wine club as well! I always love a more local mom n pop type place in general vs chains and this place is just a vibe no matter what time of day you go. The word is definitely out though so it can get busy so cozy up at the bar for a cold one while you wait if you run thirsty like me, ha! Or they have plenty of outdoor seating if you want a ni ce breeze. The owner is rad, the entire staff is sweet, accommodating and overall they just absolutely nailed it here. Go see what all the hype is about, you'll leave with a full belly and a smile.

I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos and a house coffee. The coffee was actually pretty good! Cream and sugar were delivered separately to finish with your preference. As for the tacos, it was okay. The fish was a bit dry for my liking, cabbage could have been chopped with more finesse, and I wished they QC'd their limes a bit before putting them on the plate. Both were bone dry and I had to ask for more. Moreover, the cilantro lime rice was also a bit bland. It needed salt to lift the flavors in my opinion. There weren't even flecks of green if it was supposed to be cilantro? I tried boyfriend's veggie hash but was disappointed to find that it was almost all potatoes. Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. While I didn't try it, our friend that had the chorizo hash also said it was okay so I'm guessing the ratio wasn't quite right. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.
