The crawfish were on the small side and the place was not spotless. That being said, I was looking for crawfish, not fine French dining. I ordered mild, and it was perfectly spiced for me. I wish I had ordered another pound The empty plate is testament to the palatability.

So we originally drove down to go back to another spot we love in Broussard but apparently they did a 360. Off to yelp we went to find a crawfish spot nearby with dine in seating. I found this spot with high reviews. Simple choices here, how many lbs of seafood do you want, what spice level, and would you like any add ons (sausage, dip). The crawfish were nice size even at this time of the season. We got medium and hot and it's really the level on the seasoning on the shell for ppl who like their crawfish heavily seasoned in the water. While I wish they were more juicy they still hit the spot. I wasn't a big fan of the shrimp but that's ok. Clean spot, nice people, and room in and out to enjoy some crawfish or a drive thru option.

3 pounds of crawfish, corn and potatoes also dipping sauce and extra Cajun seasoning.

Stop at Lafayette for dinner and decided to try this spot for some fresh crawfish. A crawfish had the perfect amount of seasoning. The service was good and the crawfish came out within 10 minutes. This restaurant is located in a strip mall and it was averages for us for atmosphere. Will definitely be returning here in the near future for crawfish.

My teenagers love this place! The crawfish were big tasty and plentiful. The only negative thing is the amount of seating is very limited so sometimes you end up sitting next to someone that you do not know. Other than that the food is amazing! Yes, I recommend this place

I like Louisiana crawfish. Crawfish Spot restaurant is my favorite place to eat boiled crawfish. Their crawfish is always big and very tasty. I like their crawfish Cajun style because the way they season their crawfish is so delicious. This is the best boiled crawfish in Lafayette, Louisiana. If you like boiled crawfish or would like to try the tasty Cajun Louisiana crawfish, then I would highly recommend this restaurant to you.

This place is just GOOOOOD. No white tablecloths, nothing fancy. Just well seasoned and cooked corn, sausage , boudin, potatoes, crabs, shrimp, beer and crawfish. Don't wear a white shirt

Best in town. After eating at multiple spots, there is no comparison, Crawfish Spot has the best size, seasoning, and pricing. Not to mention the people are super nice.

Literally the best crawfish I've had in a very long time. Service is amazing and friendly and the crawfish is sooo good. I could sit there all day and eat. And the shrimp? Scrumptious. I usually don't order shrimp bc it's usually a let down but I had a feeling about this place. God they were really good. Definitely come here for your crawfish needs!

The wife and I were just driving around LA for a little bit of a crawfish tour, trying different places here and there, when we found The Crawfish Spot. Service is a 10/10, everybody who worked here was incredibly friendly and cared whether or not we liked everything, and at the same time attentive. The crawfish, oh THE CRAWFISH. Seasoning was fantastic, just the perfect amount of spice. The boiled shrimp were definitely some of the better I've had. Definitely recommend for top tier crawdads!

Been coming here since my first date with my now husband in 2019. Every time we make our Louisiana trip a stop here is a must during crawfish season. From the friendly staff to the amazing flavors of the mushrooms, potatoes, corn and crawfish, all of it is a must with a nice cold beer. Ambiance is laid back nothing fancy but does the trick. Probably my favorite crawfish spot in Louisiana for sure

Blue Point Crabs and Shrimp combo (with butter and cocktail sauce) + sides of potato and corn.
    Mark M.

No crawfish unfortunately. Had their blue point crab and shrimp combo. Cooked nicely! Came with a small potato and half corn on the cob. Ordered butter and cocktail sauce (cost extra). Got 'regular' spice and my lips are buzzing after it! But I'm not used to Cajun spice Really plain and informal dining. Glad that they had a sink to wash up afterwards. Service was ok, very young, but helpful. TVs on the walls were competing channels. If you're looking for a good seafood boil (where the butter and salty water runs down your sleeves), this delivers!

Came to the crawfish spot while in town for work as crawfish season is my favorite season. Nothing special about the decor but it's perfect for crawfish enthusiasts like myself. Plenty of parking as well. Kept it simple and ordered crawfish dip as well as some boiled crawfish with a level above mild seasoning. That dip was on of the best things I've ever put in my mouth, i could've ate that alone. The crawfish were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Now the seasoning wasn't hot per say but after a few pounds it was burning me up from the inside. Nonetheless the crawfish was good as I revisited the next day for all you can eat crawfish and at about 8-9lbs before tapping out, this time with mild seasoning. Service was pretty good. They were informative of the menu and regularly checked with us. 2nd day there was a bit of a struggle as they were training someone but nothing bad things just took a little longer. Will be back in next crawfish season to see if i can eat 10lbs or more in one sitting!

Good crawfish at a great price. The staff was friendly and the cute Cajun decor makes it a great place to dine if you want to sit in. I think one of my favorite things is that they have mushrooms for your boil. Feel free to use the drive thru if you're on the go, they move pretty quick. They are also bagged well so if you take them home, you don't arrive with a soggy bag. I generally order it spicy, but if you want to avoid some of the salt, go for medium.

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

Everything we tried was solid, and it's the kind of place where you already know you're leaving happy before you even order. Service: Service was smooth with no issues at all. The cracklins had a little bit of fat and meat on them which I wasn't used to. I'm just used to the fried crispy skin. It tasted more like fried/seasoned pork belly. There's no host stand or clear seating system, so the entrance felt chaotic. We weren't sure what to do until a nice local told us to just grab a table. After sitting down, it took about 5 mins for a waitress to stop by with the menus. The menu includes both breakfast and lunch items, but the ordering process is confusing. We were told breakfast orders would be taken at the table and lunch needs to be ordered separately at the cafeteria style counter. My husband went to the counter to order lunch while I stayed behind, waiting for the server to return with drinks and take our breakfast order, she never did. The smothered pork dish looked worse than school cafeteria, and unfortunately tasted like it too. It was overly salty and the pork had a weird taste to it. Since we had already paid for the lunch item upfront and still hadn't been able to place breakfast order, we decided to cut our losses and went to another restaurant. Overall, wasted 35 mins and left frustrated and disappointed, definitely won't come back!

The main issue here is the overall service experience and the food quality. The interior is old school but immediately chaos; there is a Luby's style ready serve food line and tables as well for dine in. We didn't know but apparently you just find a table and sit down, we were standing around waiting to be seated for a bit. Apparently you order lunch plates at this hot food line and then order breakfast via your server at the table. This makes no sense. We waited 35 minutes for staff to take our breakfast order and beverages unsuccessfully, so I went up and ordered a lunch plate of smothered pork and just paid up front. The guy working the ready made food line was also pretty rude and didn't want to be there; great! It was definitely below Treebeard's level and was very salty and not very flavorful. The sauce that they poured on the rice was extremely salty as well. Meh food quality and the absolute chaos of the brunch dining experience made the brunch meal very unenjoyable for our group. We left afterwards and went to another restaurant to eat.

Vermilionville, however, stood out as one of the best, and is a memory I'll hang onto for a while. The attendants in period garb were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer our questions. The woman with her spinning wheel even gave us a demonstration. She had taught herself to spin whilst working there and explained the excessive amount of hours it took to finish even one sweater. She also made it possible for me to try the bread pudding I'd been eyeing on the restaurant menu; she warned me they were closing in just 15 minutes so we rushed over and put our order in. Now, I'm not sure if their restaurant has its own yelp page so I'll just review it here. That pudding was the most delicious, most perfect bread pudding I've ever had, and I've tried quite a lot from some of the best places in NOLA. The top was crisply caramelized, and the center was a buttery custard infused with vanilla and cinnamon--an aromatic taste sensation. The server brought me two containers to go (an extra as I'd only asked for one!) and I was so excited to try it, I devoured the first one while wandering between the houses. There were some rather beautiful little homes, furnished with accurate historic decor, and I appreciated that we were able to look at things on our own, at our own pace, free from having to follow a guide. We visited on a day it was set to storm, but we were able to see most of the buildings before the sky opened up on us. We foolishly forgot to bring umbrellas of any kind, so we ended up darting between structures, and eventually taking refuge in the old church while the worst of the rain passed. It was atmospheric and memorable. We found some charming animals in a little barn--a donkey and two sheep and we said hello. There were even mushrooms, and among them we found a single chanterelle, so keep an eye out, fellow mushroom hunters! Lastly, you must leave adequate time to check out the gift shop. They have something for everyone, and much of it made by local artisans! I would recommend Vermilionville to anyone with an appreciation for southern history.
