Crooked Creek's milk is hormone/steroid-free and the cows are fed vegetarian feed with non-GMO corn and hay. Crooked Creek is a must-visit on any farm tour of northern Macomb County. Calves welcome you in their pens as you enter the farm. Besides being able to feed the cows and goats, the store offers delicious ice cream, Crooked Creek milk, fudge, chocolate bars, and other locally made foodstuffs.

Richmond doesn't have many ice cream options so we opt to take a little drive and visit Arctic Queen. The menu was pretty large. There's 24 flavors of soft serve, hard ice cream available plus so many options for flurries, sundaes, and drinks. I got my favorite dirt sundae. For $3.80 it was pretty large and had plenty of gummy worms and crushed cookie topping. It had some of the toppings at the bottom of the dish which is great when you're getting to the bottom of the bowl and all you think you have left is vanilla ice cream. The prices were very reasonable. Can't wait to come back and try more flavors and more menu options.

I didn't buy it but I think the slushie with whipped cream topped with a donut was around $12, which is absolutely nuts. None of the drinks here are that large. Some years ago I went to the haunted house. I remember that the haunted house didn't take too long to walk through. It's always fun to go to pretty much any cider mill in the state in the fall, Blake's is no exception. My point is that there are many other more authentic less commercialized cider mills in the area that are worth visiting and where you get more bang for your buck.
