Wish we had more stars to give as this little gem was absolutely amazing. Reminded me so much of our trips to Italy where we would often end a day at a cafe with Gelato and Coffee. The added touch was hearing a customer ahead of us conversing with the owner in Italian which brought back so many fond memories. The shop has three core flavors that are available each day but Monday ( they unfortunately are closed on Mondays) with flavors changing each day so before going check out facebook for the available flavors. They have both dairy and non dairy options but for me my favorite is lemon which is so refreshing on a warm summer day and definitely transported me back to a lovely evening in San Marco's square sitting out and enjoying a cup of Sicilian Lemon Gelato. Not too sweet and just the right combination of tart and sweet. This is a small little store front but they do offer outdoor seating which for me added to the appeal. The Cremeria is such a cute place to stop at in Clinton! Each day they have a selection of gelato (some dairy and gluten free options, too!) and you can sample as many as you'd like. Today I opted for the cheesecake flavor, but I've tried several and my go-to is usually the chocolate chip! There are usually a few tables both outside and inside, but you can also walk to the park and enjoy it on a bench or near the fountain. Service is always great and the workers are friendly! The gelato is creamy and flavors strong. Got the affogato with dark chocolate sea salt. Both the espresso and gelato were strong. Next time I am getting vanilla to offset the strong espresso, but it was still delicious. My sister thought the pistachio was ok but my daughter liked her stracciatella. read more

What a stunning place! I recently spent a month in Italy, trying out a whole bunch of gelato stores in about ten different major cities, so I feel like my tongue and brain are particularly well primed to tell good from bad. This place just nails it, both the gelato and the sorbetto (sorbet). The gelato, for instance, truly is gelato, not ice cream. The fruit sorbetto feels like the very essence of the fruit. For both the gelato and sorbetto, you get deep flavors and pitch-perfect textures, and nothing else. Pretty much perfection. To add to the quality and authenticity, though the flavors apparently change regularly, they include ones that aren't frequently found in the US, like fior di latte. Not only are these unfamiliar to people, they also require the highest-quality ingredients. This place is unafraid on both fronts. All the little details are just right, too. Instead of ice cream piled up in big flowery displays, it's stored in metal containers with metal lids, just like in quality Italian gelaterie: no flashy displays, no big added colors. The decorations are lovely, and riddled with little Italian references. Oh, and the espresso is good, too. The owner's time in Italy was well spent, and Clinton, NY is very, very lucky. read more

Staying in Utica for work and decided to grab a treat. I don't each much sugar ever and this looked great. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a very friendly employee who explained I could sample anything and told me to take my time. She was very nice. I decided on Peanut butter and dark chocolate w/sea salt without trying anything. It was fantastic. Fantastic doesn't even give it the credit it deserves. The peanut butter was creamy and had a good flavor while the dark chocolate was rich and not over sweetened. It was what I needed in a small package that didn't make me feel guilty about dessert. I can't wait to tell my coworkers who are also in Utica from out of town. This was amazing and I'll be back for sure. The outside is colorful in yellow and orange and gives fun vibes with several small tables. I would love to sit outside and enjoy one of these gelatos. It was honestly the best I've had. Have to recommend this awesome gelato place in the town of Clinton. Excellent gelato, always taste fresh and super rich and smooth. But I want to make a special shout out to them for making this flavor - ginger!!!!! You can even see tiny bites of ginger and it tastes perfectly fresh gingery! They have delicious classics like lemon and salted chocolate, but will rotate new flavors every so often to keep things fresh for their frequent customers (as I was before I graduated from Hamilton). Driving through the area, the bright, vibrant colors of those adorable place stood out amongst the rest of the block. We decided to give it a go, having been searching for ice cream. As soon as you open the door, the smells are magical. The kind of sweet fragrances that make you wish Yankee Candle could bottle it up and sell it for your house! The two ladies behind the counter welcomed us and explained to us their specialty with gelato. The incredible knowledge they have, as well a authentic flavors and equipment--you can't get any closer to Italian gelato than here!! It is a must try for any local or those passing through. WOW! Stopped in on a recommendation - and was treated to the BEST vanilla gelato ever! (no kidding). We wanted to take a few pints back to friends who live about an hour away - and the staff kindly offered a bit of ice for our cooler to transport the gelato and sorbet.
