He installed toilets as a handyman and contractor...I'll be filing that a complaint on that matter as well. He wouldn't agree to fix anything so I have to file a small claim against him! Be careful! Our roof was damaged in the last big storm of early winter 2023. The previous roof was only about five years old and did not last through the high winds we had, which were not bad to begin with. We had used a different company that we have since learned took many shortcuts, and that showed in their pricing. Our contact, Joey Vidal, worked within our budget and with our insurance quote while providing us with high-quality products that we needed without giving us options that we didn't need. Once we agreed on the work, we were quickly added to their schedule, and the team arrived on the scheduled day. They spent a few hours on prep, removing gutters and shutters, then arrived the next day and began work. They stayed late and almost completed the job in one day, but needed to come back the next morning, completing the job in less than two days. The entire time, Joey kept us up to date via phone calls and text messages and provided drone pictures of the roof. Everyone we worked with was courteous and respectful of our time. After the work was complete, Joey and his son returned to scout around the perimeter of the house to look for errant nails and leftover material that may have fallen and not been cleaned up. The final step was a complimentary pressure wash of our driveway. This was much appreciated since we are unable to do that right now due to water restrictions. Once the work was completed to our satisfaction, we were presented with the final bill, and Joey even stopped by to pick up the check so I didn't have to drive to the office or drop a large check in the mail. We appreciated the fine work and excellent communication with the Vidals, and we plan to use them for some future construction projects.

I appreciated that JJJ answered my call, came to my house to give an estimate, and kept me updated along the way. Once I got the estimate, I was able to get the work started. I will say, I also appreciated that the pricing was reasonable as well. I know lumber has gone up in price and I did account for that, but I wasn't comfortable moving forward with something outside of my price range. The work was done on time and completed quickly! Once they were done, I was sent pictures like I asked! Great workmanship throughout. I was trying to avoid posting this but Maddox Roofing filed a lien requesting money on my home for…read moreuncompleted work. His contract stated that he would be paid half up front and the rest when the job was completed. All pictures are from August 15/16 of 2019. In an effort to try to help out a local company that had done roofing work for me in the past on my old home, I asked them if he could build a deck for us...he stated he could and came out to give me a quote and I paid the initial fee on June 25...he stated he could do the job in about 2 weeks. Now mind you I had no idea of the time frame for such a job...so I agreed with him. He said he would start July 8th...but then he got sick with the flu. So he didn't start at that time. He and another gentleman dropped off materials on July 18 and returned on July 19 to begin the job. They left that day and returned on the following Monday to frame the deck. Every time I asked him when they would return, he stated that he did not want to rush these types of jobs. The contract stated that we had 3 days to cancel...unfortunately that was June 28th. He would continuously not show up, not tell us when he was showing up...do work at nights. I even asked him to not work at night and he and his pregnant wife still came out to work in the evenings. Every delay was due to his wife's baby appointments or traffic. One weekend he didn't even contact us after telling my wife they would be back the next day...then on the next Saturday, while we are out eating he calls and says he is there to work, which was two days after he was supposed to return. He stated that he had a stroke on that Thursday and on Friday he was spending time with his daughter but failed to call us to let us know. On August 11 he and his wife argued with me and my wife where he stated that I was being a bad customer because I was not showing any concern for the fact that he had a stroke weeks ago...and always complaining about the time frame and issues we see with the deck. He also accused us of not wanting to pay him his money. Not one time did we ever mention money. The only thing we did was complain about issues we saw with the deck. The last time we saw them was on Monday, August 12 in the evening, leaving my home...and he did not even say he was done working. Nor did he contact me to say when he would be back... On August 15 the deck was still unfinished so I sent him a text stating that a month had passed on this job and that we wanted him to cease working on the deck and to pick up his equipment and any materials. We would be out of town to move our child into college and did not want them working through the weekend without us there. He and another gentleman came to pick up the items on Friday August 16 in the evening, did not say anything to me and just left as they had done multiple times in the past few weeks. The next week I learned from the city that he wasn't registered with the City of Cibolo and also did not pull a permit to do the work. I contacted another company who came out, pulled permits, got inspections, demolished the work that was there and rebuilt the deck to City code the way we had envisioned for over $2,000 less than Maddox had quoted us.
