Coming out of restroom. Left side had piano player, who was good, but added to the already loud bar area.

We had to sit in the bar area because of the size of our party (10 top). It was loud and would've felt a little nicer had we sat on the other side. But overall it was nice. The piano player was good, but too much all together with the music, TVs and talking. Our server was attentive and friendly. We liked the little lamps on the table that created soft lighting and the varied water bottles that were provided for refills. Dinner rolls are $6, but I think those could've been offered as a freebie.

Celebrity reviewer Jen loves big bars and $5 happy hour martinis. This was a much more fun stop than I thought it would be. They have a big bar area. They have a throne and a crown, so you take a pic. You know, Jen and I did that. Happy hour menu is big. I think it is $2 a shuck oysters. The potato dish in the photos was very tasty. I'm not a blue cheese fan, but this was good. We got lucky. One of the specials was a slow-roasted prime rib cheesesteak. It tasted better than it sounds. Great visit! Thank you! The Crown Tavern! Beth doesn't know how much she loves me, yet!!

Had yet another great lunch with my wife and Mother. Buratta and beets salad was amazing. My Mom raved about the French dip. Ambiance was pleasing. Service excellent. Will certainly be back.

Came to The Crown Tavern last night and had a great meal! The portions were perfect and everything we ordered was delicious and you could tell was high quality. The decor was really cool but wasn't overdone, definitely a great local restaurant for a night out. Service was very friendly but a little slow, but it was a Saturday night and the live music was awesome so we didn't mind sticking around a little longer! We'll definitely be back!

So glad we stopped here, after a long afternoon of shopping! Really quaint decor, comfy space, attentive staff. The food and drinks were delicious! The fish and chips, beef sandwich, tomato soup, crab cakes definitely worth a try.

A traditional (Americanized) English pub feel greats you-to the left a darker dining room and to the right a very large rectangle bar with TVs hovering above surrounded by high tops, booths, and a few tables. This side was nicely decorated, bright, and lively-1 80th surprise party and 1 engagement celebration (opposite sides of the bar). We arrived to find that happy hour had just started-3pm on Saturday. Ari was our wonderful server who guided us through our choices-as requested. The happy hour wings and Brussels sprouts were favorites! Honey and sriracha combined to bring a balanced zing to the wings! Bacon and dates combined for the win in amping up the Brussels! We tasted a few beers-highly recommend-before making our choices. We ended up sharing the fish and chips which were excellent-crispy, juicy, and accompanied by tasty tartar and mushy peas! Vinegar and ketchup came with it as well. Wonderfully enjoyable Saturday afternoon experience!!

This place is great! Love the drink menu and the bartenders are very consistent with the drinks! The bar area is spacious and they have a nice happy hour selection. The dinner side is cozy and the tables are big/comfortable. I enjoy this restaurant bc they don't blare the music so people can't hear each other. It has a peaceful vibe. Also - good kid's meals option. Best thing on the menu is the fish and chips!

Went here a few weeks ago with some friends for Happy Hour. We had never been so I made a reservation for a high top so we could take advantage of Happy Hour prices . Most places you have to sit in the bar area , but here you can sit anywhere in the restaurant. Loved that ! All four of us ordered off the happy hour menu and were all very happy with our selections. I and my friend had oysters buck a shuck and they were very fresh and tasty. I also got fried shrimp that were delicious and crab stuffed deviled eggs that far execeeded our expectations. Husband got a burger. He was very happy with it. We all had cocktails and beer and were very pleased. Service was outstanding as well! I have already recommended The Crown to several people and am anxious to return.

The vibe is very low key, comfortable but upscale, English. So I is on pictures of dogs dressed up with pearls in paintings. I enjoy the soft lighting and living room feeling. We ordered the chicken piccata Florentine and ahi tuna tatiki. We both enjoyed the chicken the most. The chicken had a lot of flavor and was moist. The orzo, spinach and lemon was a tasty side. I will definitely order the chicken piccata again. The tuna was ok, nothing to brag about. It didn't have much flavor. The noodles and veggies were great and had a nice sauce. The tuna could be improved by marinating it. The server was attentive and brought out check back quickly which I always appreciate. Overall a good experience and will come back again.

From the moment I walked in I knew I would love this place! The staff were excellent! I had the fish and chips! It was made perfectly, came with guacamole, tartar sauce and ketchup! Washed it down with a Mimosa! The presentation was awesome! Everyone loved their food and highly recommends!

It's not that often that I go somewhere that I am completely taken by, so much so, that I know instantly that I will be returning time and time again for all of the features it offers. Apparently, I have come to find out that the Crown Tavern was previously another establishment; one I had never been to. However, I am extremely happy that it has become what it is, and I hope that it stays this way for many seasons to come, so that I can continue to enjoy its unique flavors and decor, with a strange British flair, that doesn't seem quintessentially and quite traditionally British. First of all, the drinks are outstanding, and I highly suggest you go here for a cocktail hour, even if you don't plan on eating. We didn't sit in the bar area, as we visited for a group dinner, but I did venture into it, and it was warm, inviting and spacious, and to top it off, it had a performer playing ragtime piano while everyone chatted and enjoyed themselves over the interesting, unique, and multicolored drinks that they have to offer. We were seated in another room of the massive-yet-seemingly-humble establishment, right in front of a beautiful fireplace; the whole room adorned with oil paintings of what appeared to be aristocrats, but all painted as animals rather than people. I was informed by our server, who was also OUTSTANDING, that it is actually the owner's mother who paints these, and they are are hung all over the restaurant, only adding to its unique flair. Then came the food. Everything we ordered was unbelievable, cooked to perfection, with a few specific standouts. There were also some dishes that didn't quite hit the mark as well as some others, but in saying that, it would be like having to compare ten perfectly prepared foods and then pick out the absolute best between those ten. The oysters were some of the best I have ever had, and the accoutrement provided with them provided the absolute best oyster experience I have had in Pennsylvania, hands down. I would also like to call out the English Onion Soup. Because if I could pay the chef for this recipe, I would easily drop a thousand just to be able to add it to my personal cookbook and save it for my family and friends to share through the winter and soup season. If you make it here, DO NOT skip the oysters and this soup, even if these are things you do not normally eat... these should be the first you try, if so. My whole experience here was amazing; booking our table under my secret reservation moniker, Sir Cornelius Silkbottom, the staff was excited when we arrived, unsure if it was a prank all day, and were very happy to finally find out what it was all about. Not only were they happy to be a part of the fun, we were promptly seated and everyone we interacted with was top notch, only helping to make this one of the best dining and drinks experiences in Delaware county, if not my vote for the best. Or is it in Delaware. I'm not entirely sure because it's situated on the tiny little center island of Wilmington-West Chester Pike right on the border of the two states. Bottom line... make sure you take the opportunity to go here. There's bound to be something on the menu you will enjoy, and you undoubtedly will be wowed. Don't pass this place up.

I would like to suggest to management that to be more authenticate and appetizing looking (& of course for what they are charging) they would use sliced red onions on the hoagies and not the same diced white onions used for the grill. They also make a mess when they fall out of the hoagie and all over your clothes while eating. At a pricey $8, the onion rings are mostly fried cornmeal. They need to switch to a higher quality beer batter onion ring instead if they are going to ask this price. The occasionally offered Maryland Crab soup has very little crab or taste IMHO. They don't just win local popularity contests; they are consistently ranked among the top tier in the entire Delaware Valley, earning "Best of" accolades for their commitment to traditional techniques. The Cheesesteaks: These are frequently cited as the largest cheesesteaks in Delaware County. They use a mountain of finely chopped, high-quality ribeye and, most importantly, they serve them on seeded rolls (often sourced from legendary South Philly bakeries like Sarcone's). The combination of the crispy, sesame-studded crust and the gooey Cooper Sharp cheese is widely considered a "best-in-class" experience.
