Amazing Cuban Sandwich
Jenny B.

Outstanding service with delicious food with ambience that enhances experience. Owner ( Margie) knows how to take care of customers just like family and share experience through food. Will certainly come back in the future to test the rest of the menu.

Best food! Passion Delight Sandwich, Stuffed Arepas Pastelitos Banana Nut Bread Cafe Con Leche

Margie's cuisine was an AMAZING find! We went twice during our stay to see Longwood Gardens because we loved it so much! The Arapas were amazing, cafe con leche was perfect and the pastelitos were delicious. Margie was so friendly and you can tell how much love she puts into her food! Go check this place out!

What a lovely, unusual find near Longwood Gardens! Columbian cuisine with a personal flair. Nothing too spicy. Best empanadas ever. Friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. Very filling, generous mushroom soup. Small restaurant so best in small groups.

Everything at Margie's was outstanding! The owners were so kind and helpful. We got the Cuban sandwich, pork arepa (outstanding!!!), empanadas, and coffees. The side pasta salad with the main dishes was excellent, too. So glad we found this little hole in the wall! We'll be back!

Margie's is a Colombian restaurant run By Margie from Columbia. She is so wonderful, accommodating and makes THE BEST CUP OF COFFEE!!! I am vegan and Margie did not hesitate to make sure I got something wonderful! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is eclectic, welcoming and cozy. All of that, and the food is really reasonably priced!! If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend you enjoy a meal here!!!!

Pastelitos

Funky little place but the cafe con leche and hot mango pastry were excellent. Very pleasant staff.

We've been coming to Margies since it opened and we absolutely love it here. The food is remarkably fresh and tasty. A great mix of Colombian and Cuban cuisine to make some unique dishes you can't get anywhere else. Not only is the food praise worthy but Margie herself is so friendly, she got to know us the first time we dined here and welcomes us personally every time we return. Once, I arrived close to closing and she gave me an extra empanada order for free. Bonus!! The decor is lovely, like a charming cantina. And they sell original handmade art from local artists as well as a variety of books on design, cuisine, and Latinx culture. Margie's is overall amazing, and I recommend this place for anyone looking for a unique meal with a personal touch.

Stuffed Arepas

So delicious and fresh! Good menu and great flavors. I enjoyed the arepas and The mocha was delicious as well.

Pork Stuffed arepa (corn cake)

This is a hidden gem between Kennet Square and Chadd's Ford. The food tastes like it came from a mother's kitchen in colombia, with a gentle modern twist. My wife got a "corrientazo", which is served in a long bowl with beans on the side. A generous and well-dressed salad is in the bowl along with white rice with a delicious roasted chicken breast on top, slathered in sauce. I ordered a stuffed arepa (corn cake) that was truly STUFFED with shredded pork, melted cheese, sauce and greens, with a pasta salad on the side. As appetizer we ordered some beef empanadas that are baked, not fried. They are full of moist, delicious ground beef. Everything was fresh, made to order and bursting with homemade flavor. Decor is coffee shop bohemian, with mismatched chairs and tables, original artwork and antiques creating a unique place where you just want to hang out. As far as service, the owner herself makes sure you have everything you need and that it is just right. Don't miss it!!!

Chocolate cake

What a gem! The food was delicious...all of it! We had mushroom soup, the pesto chicken sandwich, chicken salad and chicken empandas. And then the chocolate cake for dessert! Everything was super fresh and tasty! The service was friendly and the interior was decorated really nicely...felt like we were in a garden! Highly recommend and will be returning!

This is a great place with authentic cuisine. We started with the chicken Empanadas which were crispy on the outside and full of delicious flavors on the inside. I'm sorry we didn't try the beef and cheese ones...maybe next time. The seafood paella was full of shrimp, octopus, mussels and chorizo over seasoned rice with fried onions, red peppers and peas. The chorizo was so good I got a few to take home. The ropa vieja was beef which was slow cooked to the point of falling apart and melting in your mouth with potatoes and a side of rice. There were three in my party and we all had at least seconds and still had some leftovers. Very enjoyment meal and would recommend.

Very simple to get to and quite a decent amount of parking. I went on a Saturday Afternoon and it wasn't too busy at all, but it should be with how amazing the food is! Vibes were pretty dope. The food is a delicious mix of Peruvian and Venezuelan flavors, and you can really taste the freshness and quality in every bite. Their arepas are crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with flavorful fillings. Everything felt comforting yet unique at the same time. One thing I really appreciated is that the entire menu is 100% gluten free, but honestly, you wouldn' even notice because the food is just that good. Also, don't be deceived if the food doesn't look super "picture perfect" online or in photos (or at least my photos lol). It may not be the most photogenic food, but it's sooo worth it! I actually ordered almost everything on the menu because I had no idea when I'd be back in Lancaster again . My favorite was the fried rice with chicken and plantains, so flavorful and satisfying! My husband's favorite was the Lomo Saltado Bowl and Pernil Arepa. We also loved the yuca fries, which were perfectly crispy without being overly greasy. The only thing that disappointed me a little was the Esquites. It just didn't stand out and probably wouldn't order it again. Parking is limited and there's outdoor seating only.

The place is beautifully decorated, and the servers are kind, but the food does not meet the expectations you would have, especially if you are familiar with authentic Colombian food. We ordered empanadas as an appetizer, and they arrived cold, as if they had been made the day before. On top of that, the ají is not the traditional Colombian kind, so the experience was disappointing from the start. The ajiaco, which should be one of the most representative dishes, tasted more like a bland potato soup with no chicken flavor and nothing memorable about it. They do not even serve it with cream, which makes it feel even less authentic and less flavorful. You can also feel a change in the atmosphere when the manager or owner arrives. The treatment toward Hispanic customers feels somewhat dismissive, while it seems different with Americans. For example, a group of Americans picked up their plates and she told them they did not have to do that, but when I did the same, that courtesy was forgotten. Overall, it is a visually pleasant place and the waitresses provide good service, but for someone from Colombia, the food does not live up to many expectations.
