Located on the second floor of the West Sac Community Center, this building felt brand new and altogether inviting. Grabbed a vanilla chai tea latte (although the spiced chai tea latte is just as good) from Cafe La Boutique (La Bou), which we were free to take inside the theater as well. The second floor boasted a Sunshine Deck and beautiful "Fluttering Canopy" glass art piece above the main stairwell. Restrooms downstairs with plenty of signage so you couldn't miss them very clean. The Black Box Theatre itself could seat about 125 people max capacity, seats were comfortable (but not the norm cushioned folding type) for the ~2 hour show. Very intimate setting, absolutely perfect for the puppeteering (should I say, Muppeteering?) in Avenue Q, with actors utilizing the onset stage as well as the aisles and exits. Not sure where the orchestra was hiding, although I'm pretty sure there was a live orchestra, hah. Two flatscreens included for the show, not sure if those are normally part of the performance space. Bravo! Easy to get to off of Jefferson Blvd/Tower Bridge Gateway, and we were able to use the Joint Use Parking Area shared by the Community Center and the Library. My only regret? Not getting a photo with Trekkie Monster or the Bad Idea Bears.

I've had several music teachers but honestly they got nothing on her. i only see her once a week and I have a busy schedule with social activities but i'd rather see her 3 days a week instead of one. Kim's little homey cottage is located right next to the Sierra 2 Center in East Sacramento and there is street parking available. The class for my daughter's age group is on Tuesdays from 5-7pm with 1 hour being for singing/voice lessons and the other 1 hour being for dance lessons. There are 4 classes a month essentially for under $200. Kim was very professional and great with the kids! It was fun to see new and returning students in her class and to see who was comfortable and who was still coming out of their shell. My daughter had a great time at the trail class, but she currently does another activity on Tuesdays so the class for her age group isn't a good fit for us right now, but we hope to come back and join Kim's class in the future. Give them a call or visit if you or your kids are interested in Performing Arts - Kim has been around for 30+ years and you can tell how much she loves what she does!

The stage lighting and sound was great and the guy we met in the front wearing I think a kimono did a wonderful job in that! He was cool and chill in his kimono! Everyone was very nice. They had a reasonably priced bar of snacks, drinks and beer, etc. Ot seemed to be a cozy theater and had a nice outdoor patio area to lounge around. Parking is ample as there is a parking lot across the street. I parked on the curb and my "special" spot was the only one missing a parking meter! The staff told me it is the lucky spot and you don't have to feed the meter( hole in the ground where they took it away I guess)! So that is my special tip for you- almost in front of the theater, but back a bit in front of a brick lawyer's building in front of a tree! Free parking! You're welcome! And just to confirm, I had a heart attack when the meter police came to check the cars and meters and he heard me say I better get to the car! He was right behind me following me, but left when he saw no meter- so SAFE to park without paying! Lol- I almost had a heart attack!

He performed at our twins' birthday party, and from start to finish, the show was absolutely incredible. This wasn't the typical "pull a rabbit out of a hat" kind of magic--it was a truly interactive, engaging, and professional performance that had over 30 children completely captivated for an entire hour. What impressed me even more was that all 150 of our adult guests were just as entertained! There were laughs, gasps, and moments where everyone was left wondering, "How did he do that?" It was one of the highlights of the entire celebration and truly a show we'll be talking about for years. If you're planning a birthday, family gathering, school event, corporate function, or any special occasion, I would recommend him without hesitation. He has an amazing way of connecting with both children and adults, making everyone feel part of the experience. Thank you for making our twins' birthday so memorable--you were truly one of the highlights of the day!

I was working a full time job all while working part time on my own business, untill I was able to go full time in my own business. I found myself tired, worn out , stressed ,lost, and not quite sure who I was anymore, outside of work. I needed a way out, I needed to find something to rediscover the spark within me. I was on Instagram one day and I noticed one of my clients posted a video of her dancing which lead me to dance community! And that is how I meet Krystal! She is such a fun person, an AMAZING dancing, with a dope spirit, and a big heart! Rediscovering dance has re-inspired me to be creative. I am a beginner heels dancer and really like how the girls are supportive. It helps to go to class because there is a mixture of levels in class from the advanced dancers who are AMAZING and down to earth; to the beginners like me who feel safe enough to try new moves even if you look crazy lol! The environment is supportive. The class motto is "Do You" Boo (and give Zero Fu$cks) lol. Which I believe is a great Motto to live by everyday. Not only will you have more confidence dancing you will also walk better in heels. This is more than dance it is an empowerment group! Also It helps watching everyone dance in class. Cause we learn from each other! You won't be disappointed! Come challenge your self and walk taller and more confident in heels cause you've practiced in the mirror ;-) ! I Hope to see you in class!
