As somewhat expected in a highly populated area in a big city, be vigilant and watch out for yourself, because despite cameras everywhere and the occasional security personnel, you tend to see some shady characters lurking around. Location 4 stars: In the Fairfax District area of Los Angeles, to the East of the original Farmer's Market. The Grove has a huge but very busy parking structure, so while you may have to journey to the upper levels, you will eventually find parking. Although some restaurants will validate part of the parking fees, be prepared to pay somewhere between $10 and $30 depending on how long you stay and which stores you visit. Their validation rules are fairly complex and not straightforward, so be sure to read all the fine print. They also have Valet parking on premises. Venue 4 stars: Nice modern open air set up with a Nordstrom, Zara and H&M and a bunch of smaller stores, an AMC movie theater, a Barnes and Noble, a Cheesecake Factory, and a variety of coffee shops and restaurants to fit most tastes and budgets. One catch being that the Grove parking lot cannot be validated by the Farmers Market stores and vice versa. Once you are on premises you can use the trolly to move from one end of the venue to the other. So many stores and variety of selections to hangout, eat, drink, and shop. They have stores for clothing, books, luxury items, and more. I parked at the lot near a valet of the hotel. There's lots of floors and we had to go to the 4th floor. Make sure to bring your ticket to validate parking at one of the stores, we spent our time at Barnes and noble to pick out some things and we validated there. The place was packed on a Sunday, since it's an outdoor area, it was really hot and staying in the stores helped cool us off, especially if they had AC on full blast. Going back to the parking lot was a challenge, since there isn't a parking attendant around, there isn't service you can get help right away. Parking price is expensive if you stay more than 2 hours, I suggest coming for the 2 hours and validate it at a store or if you end up staying longer and reaching full price (max daily), might as well spend the feast of the day there since they already have everything you need for lunch and dinner. FYI, driving out of the 4th floor took some time so if you're in a rush, so is everyone else and some cars go so fast you might not see them in time around sharp turns and yield signs! read more

A staple in Los Angeles that's always a nice place to spend some time walking around. There's a good amount of shops and plenty of restaurants. Of course the main focal point, the water fountain and little park. There's plenty of parking in the massive covered parking structure. There's also valet at the lower level which is easier in my opinion. You can also park where the farmers market is but they have their own validation system. It's a pretty decent size shopping area which is all outdoor. The main department store which is Nordstrom and then you'll have all the other smaller chains stores. Plenty of dining options, more on the dine in style. If you're looking for something quick and easy, there's the farmers market a couple minutes walk. Of course there's the movie theatre which is great. The whole grove concept is similar to the Americana which is larger. Dining options, shops and of course the fountain. It's a staple in LA that's worth checking out. read more

When I lived near here, I would come to The Grove often because Barnes & Noble had celebrity book signings. There was Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Jim Carrey even stayed hours after he needed to until he had spoken, taken pictures, and signed books for every single person who had waited in line for him. However, after the COVID pandemic they've noticeably stopped coming. Still, The Grove is a nice place to visit because it is so polished and touristy. There's the dancing fountain, free trolley, movie theater, shops and restaurants. Meanwhile, The Farmers Market is right next door, so you can easily walk there as well. It's a good place to kill time. Some stores are a bit on the pricey side, though. The trolley is a bit silly since the ride is so short. It takes longer to wait for the trolley than to just walk from one end of the mall to the other. It is a free novelty, though, so if you have nothing better to do, might as well. Recently, there was a parade and festival at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) and I noticed several other people like me walking from there to The Grove since it's only around a 20 minute walk up Fairfax Ave. I think people decided to walk since parking at LACMA is $23 no matter what and we didn't want to pay it again. Parking at The Grove isn't cheap either, but it's easy and convenient since it's a huge multi-story parking garage with digital numbers that tell you how many spots are available on each level. My go to restroom is at the top level of Barnes & Noble, but there's also one at Farmers Market. The views of The Grove from the upper levels of Barnes & Noble are nice. There's also an onsite cafe on that level. Meanwhile, this Barnes & Noble is apparently one of the biggest in the US. Around the holidays, they put up one of the tallest Christmas trees in the US. They hang flying reindeer and a sleigh above the dancing fountain. They also put up a Santa house in the middle of the street where you can take pictures with Santa for a fee. One of the changes I didn't like around the dancing fountain, which is one of the few spots with trees and shade, is that they roped it off so that it became outdoor seating for the restaurants whereas before it was open to anyone. Even though I don't live near here anymore, I still end up visiting every now and then because of nearby festivals. At this point it's so familiar to me that as another reviewer had said "It's an LA staple." read more

I enjoy the groove so much!!!! There is paid parking, valet, It's an outside shopping center with some of the best shopping stores out there. Nordstrom, Charlotte Tillbury, sephora, clothing designers, nike, apple, plenty of cafe and restaurants, movie theater, a farmers market. I went to the south Korea skincare store Eesoul (there until August 12, 2026). Which only has the activities on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, I didn't know this so I went on a Tuesday. Also, their sample bags are only giving those days. I didn't get an allergic reaction to one of the products I tested in my hand. Wished there was more info online cause I wanted to do the services like the color analysis and the manicure. But my experience was a bit bland so I wouldn't come back. The Grove is definitely one of the finer open malls in Los Angeles County and since its right next to the original Farmer's Market you kinda have to partially review them both, but this review is mostly about The Grove. It is not a huge mall but very compact, almost in a large circular area. Parking is a bit tough, so get there early. There is parking as well down a block or two from the Du-Pars restaurant which is right at the end of Farmer's Market. The Grove has a big mixture of high end stores as well as your major typical shops and eateries. Some of the places we have eaten at are Alma's Mexican, The Cheesecake Factory, and Sogno Toscano Italian. You cannot go wrong with either. This past week we decided on the Cheesecake Factory for brunch. The landscaping and architecture of the Grove is beautiful with a central fountain. They even have a movie theatre. But, if you are coming to the grove, make sure to check out Farmer's Market. There must be 50 specialized shops in there from Huntington Meats to Dylan's Candy. The Grove is a really cool place to visit, walk around, shop and eat. read more

Rick Caruso created this masterpiece of this open air outdoor mall in 2002 for 160 million and it is magnificent way to spend a day in LA! It sits on the site of a former dairy farm and plant nursery right next door to the Original Farmers Market. I had so much fun here last Saturday showing bf how cool my hometown is. We went into almost every store and shopped then rode the cute trolley and acted like true tourists! I highly recommend coming here and enjoying the beautiful Southern California weather! read more

This place is close to The Original Farmers Market. Shops are pricey, but this is a tourist destination. Lots of eateries and stores, a movie theater, and even a trolley! There is a Nordstroms, Coach, a Cheesecake Factory, and many bougie boutique shops, a wide selection of stores to shop. Most stores are more of the higher end products, but hey, this is Hollywood. I love the Grove; it has two sections. The older section has the Farmers Market, where you can purchase Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts, Hot sauces, cooked food, and candy--so many delicious foods and knick-knacks. The Grove has become a must go to visit place in Los Angeles. It's trendy, it's still quite new and well kept, and it seems very Los Angeles, culturally. There are many benches to sit. People watching us normal because there's so many people there. I enjoy sitting around the LaLa Land area, sipping my coffee. Very trendy little walkway leading to a parking lot and the property management company. Lots of eateries, shopping, and a Farmers Market. I'd say aside from the shopping boutiques, Nordstrom and the Apple Store are probably the pillars of the Grove... and perhaps the AMC Theater as well. Parking on weekends are hectic. It's not cheap. Even after my Nordstrom validation after a purchase, I still had to pay $15. I'm not sure how much it might cost without validation, but probably x3 of my cost. However, it really depends on how long you stay there. One problem I saw was people bringing their pets, and not cleaning after them. There was a poignant smell around the grass area and LaLa Land. Unfortunately, people step on the dog stuff, and it makes it a bigger problem. Very unsanitary. I think there should be a rule about pets, and a penalty especially for not cleaning up after them. Overall, the Grove is beautiful. Great Los Angeles experience, and decent eateries. Preferably I rather go during the week when it's less hectic. read more

The weather was awesome, and I had business right on the outer perimeter of The Grove going to the key place I detailed in another review. Once that business was taken care of, I decided to mosey about as it was the first time here in quite a long time. Since Chinese New Year is among us, The Grove were sure to point attention to that and paid homage to the Year of the Fire Horse. Went inside most of the big stores such as apple, nike, nordstrom, cheesecake factory and a few others. The only drawback today was I didn't see the little train or trolley in operation but I could have missed it or it could have been taking a break. Overall this shopping center has pretty much anything any adult, team, or kid would want. I was just happy to be out and about. The CSA or customer service all star of this experience is pictured. A true ambassador, he was kind enough to answer a few questions I had for him amidst the crowd as well as in these trying times since war has broken out. Quite naturally, he's got to be on guard and keep alert for any suspicious activity, so I didn't want to keep him too long. read more

My non-LA pilled brain keeps mixing this one up with the Americana but it makes sense since they're allegedly designed by the same people. I don't think I go out of my way to visit the Grove, considering the distance and the difficulty of getting parking. Huge crowds, have to pay for parking, and even if you walk farther away, it's a risk to get towed and there's metered parking too that hit a 2 hour maximum, at least the last time I went there. Aside from accidentally wandering in here or being here for a specific event (seeing Yoshiki over a decade ago or the 20th anniversary Rilakkuma pop up, which was absolutely fisted with people), I've only wandered here on accident when hanging out with friends elsewhere. There's a good number of shops and eateries though, especially since it sort of shares the space/is right next to the Farmer's Market (great open area to go shop and to go dine). Large overlap of the same shops and eateries as the Americana, but there's things there that we don't have in Glendale. Lot of higher end businesses. Big fan of the La La Land Kind Cafe and what they do, their drinks, and their aesthetic. It's not a bad outdoors mall, considering how "fancy" it is, the fact that it's outside in the California sunshine, and the fountain with the Bellagio style musical water shows, but just know that the parking can get hideous. read more

If it wasn't for the pricey parking fee at the grove, I would go much more frequently! Walking around the grove especially with the holiday decorations is so nice compared to the other malls around the area, like Beverly Center. I'm not sure if it's because it's an outdoor mall...it's just pleasing to the eyes. They also decorate according to the seasons. I also like how they let you walk around even when the stores are closed. Their trolley doesn't run all the time so make sure to check the hours if you are going for that! They have good shops from all price range and frequented by people of all ages! There's a double decker trolley that can take you from the mall area to the original farmer's market area. A free ride when you get all tuckered out from all the walking!! There's magic shows, live music, dancing fountain, movie theater, and more. It was busy when we were there. They say it's busier on the weekends. Overall, a beautiful shopping experience! Visited the Grove mid-December mainly for the Jellycat Pop Up and was so happily surprised to see even MORE pop ups. We went through a Spotify, Direct TV, and Bailey's pop up that gave us lots of free goodies! The Grove honestly is such a great place to shop and eat at. Had a very disappointing experience with parking at The Grove. I came to shop and dine, arrived at 12:52 PM and left at 2:57 PM -- literally just a few minutes over the 2-hour validation limit from Gap, where I made purchases. Despite being a paying customer spending money at your stores and restaurants, I was charged the full $15 parking fee. Now that's not the first time that the validation is not working or applied!!!! But now what ? You will go back to the store after walking to your parking floor?!? This policy feels unreasonable and excessive. Customers who come to support the businesses at The Grove should not be penalized with outrageous parking charges over a few minutes. Situations like this discourage people from shopping and dining there. There should be a grace period or a reduced fee for customers who slightly exceed the validation time, especially when they are actively spending money on the property. Came here to use the parking garage to visit the Holocaust Museum LA, but stayed to watch the fountains and enjoy the vibe at The Grove for a bit. The Grove was originally the site of an orchard and nursery. The farmers market still operates near the high end stores. Loved walking through the open market place. The Central Park has an animated fountain. This is similar to the fountains at Bellagio, but on a much smaller scale. The electric powered trolley cars are so nostalgic. The Grove is kind of like the Disneyland of outdoor shopping malls. A fantastical image of what a cute little pseudo-European town square might look like...from the perspective of one who has never left the United States. It's got bistros and cute little shops and fountains performing intricate water shows. It's very shiny and curated and a little bit silly. It's a selfie-taker's dream come true. The shops and restaurants at The Grove skew mid-range to upscale. You're going to see both The Gap and Gucci. Most of the places are not stores that I generally enjoy, so I've really only gone here for the Apple Store (which looks like a human terrarium) and TASCHEN books (one of the few more alternative shops there). Getting in and out can be a bit of a hassle as the parking is labyrinthine. Unfortunately, none of the stores I've gone in validates parking. However, I've managed to get my parking ticket validated at restaurants, even if I didn't dine there. I've ended up at The Americana a lot more than here simply because it's closer. The Americana is completely the same style and, unsurprisingly, they are both developed by Rick Caruso and were designed by the same architectural groups. read more

Overall - 10/10 This is a wonderful destination to come if you are visiting Los Angeles. It is a nice place to stroll. They are always having fund things happening on the weekend & weekends with various things from free pop-ups, shops, eat, and fun cafes too. The grove is always a wonderplace where I get to enjoy some shopping with K-beauty stores popping up. They also have pop-ups for K-beauty like the laneige store where I recently went shopping for some korean beauty products. They also have stores that also pop-up in the area too. They have a garage that has parking and possibly shreat parking in the neighborhood nearby that is a short walk to the plaza. Shopping/Food - I love coming to the grove and have visited for various pop-up in the area. It also had a lot of pop-ups and recently had one with Medi-Cube, TirTir, Biodance, Maison Margiel Fragrance, and Touchland. These pop-ups came with so many free skincare, food, and desserts. I got to try ice cream from Creamy Boys and meet a Korean Star, Kevin Woo, at a pop-up. Overall experience - It is a pleasant place to visit when I want to strool in the Los Angeles area. I love all the happenings at the grove randomly throughout the week. I am also glad for all the freebies including free ice cream, popsicles, dreanks, and k-beauty products. read more
