We are visiting the area for two weeks and our first night we came in and ordered a pizza and calzone. Both were excellent and great quality. The staff was kind and prompt in greeting us. While waiting for the food, we're had ice cream and it was very generous scoops and yummy! We returned last night to grab something, unfortunately, we were too late for pizza, but I got a Thanksgiving wrap and my husband got the Chicken Parm sandwich from the deli counter. Both items were so/so. The wrap is too expensive for the amount of food inside as it's mostly tortilla. The sandwich was ok, but not something he would get again. Atmosphere is a gas station deli, with some outdoor seating. We took our food to go both times. We will return, but will stick to the freshly prepared items. read more

Stopped in here after checking out of my hotel the other morning and got a nice fresh Roast Beef sub (large) with some mayo and lettuce and I apologize that I DIDN'T take a photo of it because it was easily one of the most delicious and filling subs I've ever had. Bread was fresh, the roast beef was excellent, no fat or grizzle. Great little spot stuck inside of the gas station. If you're ever in Jeffersonville and need a great sandwich for the road on the way back to your home state, this is the place to get it from! read more

Time and time again, we return to the Cupboard to scratch an itch. The kids love the pizza and pork eggrolls. I love the breakfast buddies. Pro tip, add hashbrown! But it depends sometimes I tend to always get extra meat in my sandwiches and they normally do but depending on the person they sometimes say they can't do it which is annoying when I get the same thing each time. Just your average everyday run of the mill deli, bakery, ice cream shop, pizzeria, liquor store, coffee shop and gas station. Just kidding. It really is amazing all they do from this tiny spot. And they do just about everything very well. Some things amazingly well. Donuts are the stand out items. The best in these parts for sure. Just get there early as they often sell out before noon. The deli sandwiches are very good as well. They are made to order featuring generous portions of Boars Head meats at affordable prices. If you are in a rush they have a large assortment of pre made sandwiches and wraps as well. Decent coffee, delicious maple cremes as well. It has been my go to pre ski, hike spot for well over 30 years and I look forward to my next pit stop. read more

Best creemees in Vermont! The density, the flavor, the portions, this little shop serves up the best. I've sampled a fair share of creemees in Vermont and this place gets the blue ribbon. Not to mention, they have an incredibly rich brownie topped with a layer of peanut butter followed by a thick layer of chocolate icing - amazing. Whoopee pie is third on my list. My husband loves their maple donuts, but they always sell out first thing in the morning and we never make it out there in time. Those early birds deserve those donuts for being up and out at that hour. My Maple Creemee was a 5-star. Creamy and rich, with so much real maple syrup you could have been blindfolded and driven across the border and you'd immediately know you were in Vermont. This place is a hidden gem. You think it's just a gas station with a convenience store, but the deli, baked goods and creemes are amazing! The donuts were the biggest surprise for me and now I get them regularly. They are homemade, delicious, and big! The sandwich selection features both made to order and ready made sandwiches with a large variety. They also have other ready made foods like spring rolls and side dishes. The other great thing is their beer cave - probably the best selection in Jeff. After a long day of riding at Smuggler's Notch, what better way to end it with a treat. Jana's Cupboard, located at the Citgo gas station, serves up some delicious donuts ($0.80 each). Some of the donuts that I've tried: - Maple Glazed Donut - You can really taste the sweet maple on this donut, holding true to the Vermont maple syrup made in the state. - Apple Cider Donut - The donut is encrusted in a hard shell, almost crunch but soooo good, with just the right amount of sweetness. This donut would be killer if served hot. - Blueberry Glazed Donut - Although it had real blueberry bits, it was unmemorable, and I'd probably settle for another Apple Cider or Maple Glazed Donut. If you're in the mood for some food, they have some wraps, sandwiches and other hot foods. The Super Spicy Ranch Chicken wrap ($4.64) is definitely worth getting, consisting of chicken, onions, cheese, ranch, and taco seasonings. It is reheated and served steaming hot. Donuts! Love 'em, but hate what they do to the waist line. However, if I were to blow my diet, it would have to be worth it And the freshly made donuts made here are SO worth the extra mileage on the treadmill. My favorite is the apple cider donuts. There is a bit of happiness in each bite. On top of it, the service was super friendly. After ordering individual donuts the day before, we asked them to set aside a dozen or so donuts for the next morning. When we got there the following am, she they were ready to go. I've been here three times in one month, first time on a little hike and swimming hole adventure. I got a Vermonter (ham and cheddar with lettuce and onions) the bread is homemade and pretty amazing. I was won over by the first bite, soft but chewy and fresh tasting! The second time I was on the way to Island pond to go camping - by my suggestion we stopped here (On the way there and back home again!) got the same sandwich and got some baked goodies! The baked goods are delicious - the pecan pie bar is my favorite of the three ones I got to try out. Everything was top notch and tasted fresh! My mom liked her pulled pork sandwich and said she would get it again! The last time we stopped I wasn't too impressed with the service, the boy cashing everyone out and getting our treats got my moms two bars but didn't take my order, he then checked her out and at this point a bunch of customers got in line and he checked them all out before helping me. I was a little annoyed - he should have asked if i wanted something too, while he was getting my moms goodies. Oh well, not a big deal. Yay- donuts. They have a large selection of donuts and muffins. Go early as sometimes all the donuts disappear which is very disappointing. I had the maple frosted/ very delicious. A customer told me that the apple fritter was wicked good but I have not tried that yet. They have many pre-made sandwiches that look delicious and you can order your own as well. Do not be fooled by the fact that this looks (and is) a gas station. I almost didn't go inside which would she been a sever mistake. The apple fritter was perhaps the best doughnut I have ever had.
