Food is so overpriced and yet lacking in flavor. Service is very slow and there is an uncomfortable and awkward vibe. The ambiance is not what I expected. I was just double checking the store hours, somehow ended up here, and then saw the negative review from Ted C. (which is total horseshit). I'll take this point by point: Ted: "Store is tired and rundown" Someone smarter than Ted: The store is over 200 years old; if stores had human feelings, it probably would be "tired" (from being a store for so long). Ted: "Employees are rude and short with the customers" Someone smarter than Ted: As a local, this has never been my experience (all staff is average to above average height). Ted: "Ordered cheeseburger and it took 45 minutes to cook on the grill...Upon getting it disappointed in its lack of flavor and texture." Someone smarter than Ted: Their burgers are the best around. Seriously. They are better than JCAT, Hatchet, or anywhere else within a 20 minute drive. And as for the wait, they do get extremely busy sometimes...because they are really good! On a day trip to Stowe VT and the area surrounding Burlington. Going along VT-15 and found this great place. Had a 1st Republic Pilsner and some dry rub wings with a side of Buffalo sauce. The wings were perfectly fried and the rub was spicy but not overwhelming. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Glad we found this gem. read more

We are living in Jericho and get our mail at the PO boxes here. It's a treasure. Friendly, hardworking staff; we told John the owner he is the coolest mailman we've ever had and it's true. The place is well-stocked with all sorts of treats and staples if you're in a pinch. Seem to get some rare Ben & Jerry's which is fun...plenty of local libations plus Trent's bread, Slowfire, Poorhouse Pies. Breakfast here is clutch and the burgers are solid too. Family owned, they are as friendly as your hear Vermonters are. You don't feel rushed and could wander through the small store all you like. I enjoyed coming here to get few of the things i needed while staying at our inn. We had the MT. Mansfield panini was delicious! Especially the hand-cut fries. I love the country style of the store. The cree-mee's (soft serve ice cream) are great! .. Across the street is a small field of grass and picnic tables. A landmark in the town of Jericho that recently celebrated its 200th year. It may of changed names over the years but the purpose of this store still lives. As with many small towns in Vermont, The Jericho Center Country Store has a little of everything for those not looking to drive to Essex or Burlington for some things. Driving past this store throughout my entire time of living in Jericho, you always knew someone in the place and got filled in on the news of the town. With technology and a centerpiece of a town being less apparent and needed, the Jericho Center Country Store still fills that need and thrives. Also, it's the home of Snowflake Bentley so be sure and learn about the man that photographed snowflakes and discovered no two are alike. Stop in for a plethora of items and friendly service. Uber friendly and their breakfast sandwiches are soooooooo good. The eggs are good and the sausage tender and moist, and the ham is packed with flavor. I am DEFINITELY going back when I go back to Vermont. Their lunch paninis are delicious. JCCS is one of our favorite farm staff places to grab lunch and/or take a snack break! This is your classic VT country store with lots of charm and boasting an awesome deli with the best local beef burgers around, lots of yummy locally made products (Gerard's bread and Krin's Bakery desserts just to name a couple awesome ones) and beverages (including Heady Topper)! The staff is always friendly and helpful! It's definitely a go to nearly everyday for someone working at the farm and we are grateful to have such an awesome place to cool down with a creemee or grab a pizza after a long day on the farm! read more

I wish I could give this place a higher rating, because I have been in many times before, but my last experience put an awful taste in my mouth. I normally stop by this store after work/picking up kids from sports or when I've got time off, and the employees seem really friendly. But I stopped in on a Wednesday midday for lunch since I had a rare day off, and had the worst worst worst service I have ever experienced at this establishment, or at any establisment at all. I first walked in and nearly tripped over some long vacuum hose that was just sitting on the floor. No big deal, so I brushed it off. I then went to grab some drinks, and then I got a deli sub from the sandwich counter. The deli employee was courteous, so I can't knock that part of the establishment. I then went up to the checkout area, where it all went downhill. There was an older woman who was working the counter, and I overheard the deli guy while I was waiting in line call her 'twinkes' or 'wink'. I only remember that cause i've never heard that name before. Anyways, I get to the counter, and receieved no greeting from her. She just snootely looked at me and rang my stuff up. During my whole time at checkout, the only thing she said to me was the grand total. I then asked for a creamey, and she sighed under her breath, as if I was supposed to ask for it before everything was rung up. I asked what the flavors were, and she snapped at me chocolate and vanilla. She made my ice cream, and then I asked for a bag. She rolls her eyes and she puts my stuff in a bag, and as I left the counter, she didn't even say 'have a nice one' or 'see you next time'. This put the worst taste in my mouth for this store, and I left very very angry. I refuse to go back into this store, and I will never recommend this place to anyone again because of the service I was provided by that woman. It's unfortunate because I have been going to this store for a while, and I have never seen this woman in there. This store has lost me as a loyal customer! Service is important to me, and this store unfortunately doesn't have good service anymore! It's unfortunate that a single employee has ruined it for me. read more
