I am so picky with every detail of my hair, and I've gone to plenty of different salons, including fancy LA/Hollywood salons to local suburb salons, i'm almost never happy with the result... Then I finally found THE stylist for me! I went to Candice through a friend of friend. She had done Brazilian Blowout, haircuts, and Ombre coloring for me. This place is amazing. Everyone greets you warmly and makes you feel welcomed. It's a cozy place to get pampered up at. I came in for my first time to get my hair colored and cut. Tiami is the best for that. She even texted me the day before my appointment and we had a conversation about the color I wanted and how to care for it afterwards. As soon as I sat in that chair she made sure I was comfortable and talked me through the entire process. My hair has never felt so soft after the entire lightening and coloring process and I even got to keep most of the length of my hair! She's so good and I definitely recommend her for color and cut. As for my curly-haired lovelies, I recommend Linda to care for your needs. I took my mom in to see her for the Deva Cut the day after my appointment and was blown away. My mom is very picky about how her hair is treated and loves to keep her curly hair as long as possible after a cut and Linda did just that! After a flop with a previous hair stylist I was on the lookout for someone to touch up hair. I luckily ran into a client of Tiami who referred me after I fell in love with her super soft grey hair. When entering the Curling Iron salon you are instantly in awe of the ambience, very beautiful, very clean, and will make you feel like a queen. Tiami was extremely welcoming and informative, giving me information about my hair and what was healthy for it image not came to bleaching and touching up. A couple hours later I came out with gorgeous gray hair! So soft too. What really stood out was she perfected my hair until she felt happy with the results- which means a lot after the first person( not from this salon) to dye my hair rushed at the end and didn't evenly process my hair. Curly hair and scissors can be the elements of a horror movie...hence my concern in trying a new salon and a new stylist for a new chapter in my life. Spoiler alert the Damsel in distress found she had nothing to stress about! Linda saved this protagonist in the kindest most patient of ways leaving her with curly locks that now fell to her shoulders. Well I left feeling like crap hating my hair after 145 spent. DISASTER! My hair is fried from a bad perm here, and the haircut was a terrible, too. I am a college student, paying for my own education. I've had many perms in the past with NO problems. While the perm solution was on soaking my hair, the stylist, Debbie, cut TWO other people's hair, which was a much longer time than I've had perm solution on my hair on the past. After I left the salon, and got back to my dorm and took a good look at my hair, I realized that my hair was completely fried! The haircut was awful - one complete layer straight across, and then another layer several inches below. My hair was fried, and this was the worst cut I've ever had. I asked for the smallest amount possible off the ends, and over 4" was cut off. I did not want anyone at that salon to touch my hair again, so I Skyped with my stylist back home right after I got back to my dorm. She told me to wash my hair right away so I could get the remaining chemicals out of my hair. She also suggested cutting off the more damaged ends and deep conditioning. I went to Great Clips to get the worst of the fried ends cut off. I took photos of my hair before the second cut so I could show them to the Curling Iron. The stylist at Great Clips said, "Oh, my God! Who did this to your hair?" I called the owner. She said she would have Debbie call me. Debbie the stylist called and told me that she thought my hair looked really "cute". She blamed the frizziness on a small pink streak that I have in my hair at the base of my scalp. I have included a photo (left, or bottom on mobile phone) that avoids the pink streak so that you can see that ALL of my hair was fried. I have also included a photo of how my hair looked after the last perm with my stylist at home (right, or top on mobile phone). Over the past 10 years, I have highlighted my hair, permed my hair, colored my hair and permed my hair while it was highlighted and/or colored. I've never had a problem. Until I went to this place. My mom went to the salon last week and showed the photos of the damage to the owner. Debbie could not get away from a client, so she called my mom later that afternoon. The stylist did not want to see the pictures of my hair. Debbie said she would talk with the owner and call back regarding a partial or a full refund. Debbie did not have the courtesy to call me back. I never heard from Debbie again. After waiting 5 days and not hearing from the stylist, my mom called the owner - again. The owner said I had to show up in person and show her my hair. Even though we have explained that the photos she has already seen are better because they show the damage BEFORE I got the worst of the damage cut off, it didn't make any difference. The owner didn't apologize for one of her stylists not calling back, as promised. Nothing. I'm so glad that I posted this review. Until I did, the owner never mentioned the possibility of a refund if I came back to the salon. Here are the photos. You decide for yourself. read more

The staff is professional and friendly, they even cut my daughter's hair without an appointment. I also sent my very picky 17 year old son to Monica, and he was very happy with the cut. I was leaving work in Norwalk, yes I work in LA County & live in Ontario, I'm new to this area, so I'm relying on yelp for hair salons. Anyway, I spoke to her & the conversation went like this: Me: hi I'm calling to find out how much a conditioning treatment would be because my hair feels dry & brittle, it's breaking & need a treatment. Anush: okay, well we would need to see your hair but yes we do hair treatments. You can come in ANYTIME for a consultation but if you are going to do it we would need to schedule you. Me: okay, I can come in around 4pm or after. Anush: sure! Me: oh ok, what's your name? Anush: my name is "a-new" Me: a-new? Anush: yes! Me: I asked her, so I could come in & just ask for you? & she said yes! I arrive at 5pm & I asked for anew, they said "oh! anush" & told her I was looking to get a hair treatment, then I'm told another person named Candace was suppose to see me at 4pm but she left. So, the receptionist says hold on & goes to get someone. And I am left wondering what happened to this anush woman? Then someone comes to the front mandy & asked "what did you need?" Needed to find a hair salon that was not too expensive but had hair stylist that new how to do hair. This place was welcoming since the beginning. I called to inquire about the price and if an appointment was necessary. The lady on the phone was helpful and very polite. Kinda wanted to keep talking to her. My hair stylist was Monica, I believe that was her name. She did an awesome job on my hair. I hadnt gotten a cut in about a year. I asked for layers a lot of volume and bangs and that's what I got. She took her time and I didn't feel that she was rushing at all. Overall I am giving this place 4 stars because I actually had to wait about 30-45 after I had made an appointment to go in. I was in a bind and in desperate need of a haircut and I had to have it done today! I looked at salons in the Upland area and The Curling Iron Salon caught my eye. It had 45 reviews with a 5 star average. I called and spoke to the owner, who was very professional and interested in giving me information about her salon and trying to meet my needs. I called early this morning and I told her what I wanted and I needed my hair done today AND completed by 2 pm. She was awesome! She was able to accommodate me on very short notice with hairstylist Mandy. This was my first time to the salon and from the outside it looked like a small simple salon, easy to miss. However, walking inside it looked a lot better and it is a full service beauty salon with a manicurist and esthetician. Mandy gave me a consultation and was really great at listening to my requests and recommending a great color and simple style for my busy schedule. She took her time and did a great job! She even finished within the time they promised they would be done and I left looking and feeling great! I also booked another appointment with her to do a Brazilian Blow Out. I can't wait! I heard things about the curling iron and although I was hesitant to get a cut after many hair cutting horror stories, I was welcomed by many friendly hairdressers. I have been going to Kandice Jaafri since I moved to Cali back in 2015. One of the scariest things is having to find a new stylist in a new state when you have bleach blonde hair that has beyond grown out and you just want to go blonder. I can not even begin to describe how amazing everything has been, from the front desk, all the way to her asking me if I would like something to drink every time I come in. I just want to say that this place was great, the lady that did my hair was Amanda and she did an amazing job!! There was a bit of a struggle to get there though, there was a lot of having to be moved around from one person to another until I found a hairstylist that could meet my needs on the day in question, but the moving around was because the original lady couldn't do so because of surgery which I totally understand and the other lady wanted to refer me to someone that was more experienced with my hair color. Anyway I got there and was greeted nicely, the outside of the place is deceiving because it is quite nice on the inside, when you first walk in a bit cluttered but in the salon portion it's really nice! I've been trying to get my hair a very particular shade of lavender for my wedding and just when I was ready to give up Taimi sat me down in her chair and did her magic.
