Before I ventured there on a Saturday evening, I tried to call several times to ask some menu questions but no one ever picked up the call. I was hopeful that they were possibly just very busy at that moment. The parking lot is shared with several other businesses located in this plaza. There is disabled parking in front of the business, but the ramp is in front of Sauce on the Side next door. As I entered this casual spot, they were very busy on this Saturday night. You can place your order online or at the walk up counter. There were several people in front of me, but the line moved fast. The menu is on the board behind the counter and you can see some of the fresh items displayed. There are some tables inside the restaurant if you decide to stay. It seems that the majority of the people ordered takeout. I ordered the onion pakoda, which is similar to onion straws, and it was a huge serving, enough for 2-4 people. It was served warm and crispy. The onions were sweet and the fried batter had good flavor. I tried the weekend special, which were 3 vegetarian choices out of 5-6: Palak Paneer, Paneer Butter Masala and Eggplant curry. Rice or naan does not come with it. It costs extra. The garlic naan was fresh and flavorful. The Palak Paneer was adequate, mildly spiced, and about what I expected. The paneer butter masala was well-spiced and had a slight capsaicin kick. The eggplant curry was absolutely delicious and rather spicy. I'm glad I had a drink close by. This was a very good value as I had enough leftover for another meal. read more

I walked in feeling like a kid in a candy shop. Two countertops in front of me. One filled with Indian pastries under a sign that read off the names of dishes I couldn't understand, but felt like I knew in a past life. I look over at the prices of these gems, expecting 12, 13, maybe 15 dollars a dish??? I know that good Indian food in St. Louis often times with a hefty price. Food is pretty good once you figure out what the names are and what you want. Service is adequate. What degrades the experience is the confusing and discombobulated ordering process. Not sure what everything is, when it's not translated, or simplified. Assumption is that when one walks in, they know exactly what they want. This was my first time dining here. If you want authentic Indian food, the lunch crowd will confirm you came to the right place as there are usually more Indian folks here than anywhere I go in the area! This is probably not the place to bring someone who doesn't like spice cause as I said, it's authentic Indian, so even dishes like butter chicken that may be really Americanized other places have zing to them here. This is also not the place to bring someone who is a big fan of ambiance, cause the focus here is food. The shop is always clean, usually busy, but white walls, simple tables and chairs. Knowing and focusing on the food and customers pays off as the food is fantastic and prices are reasonable. I am happiest about the dosas -- for some reason I don't think they have always offered them but they are incredible! Crispy dosa and plenty of whatever you order for the inside. Last time I was there I remembered to take pics which is hard to believe because I dive in so quickly! The sambar & other sauces to go with the dosa truly add dimensions and it's self serve so feel free to try them all and get more of what you like (obvs I am a sambar person). I prefer to come with a group who are willing to share the various dishes cause it is all so yummy! And so much of it is ready to go so they serve it up as you order -- dosa of course are made to order. They have two sizes for main dishes, I do small unless I want leftovers (which I usually do LOL). They have some specials at dinner time they don't offer for lunch and some things on weekends too. And a loyal following that calls in or orders to go online. Went here with a friend on someone else's recommendation, and glad I did! We were told it's the best Indian food in St. Louis and I think I'd have to agree! Loved everything I tried. The butter chicken was spicier than I'm used to but the flavor was so rich, and the garlic naan was perfection. The samosas were also the best I've ever had. Everything just burst with flavor, and the portions are HUGE and the prices are so reasonable. The place is very casual on the inside, as is the service, which is great in my book. After having their lunch on my radar for awhile, I finally made it in. Amazing!! I had butter chicken and a tomato curry - both so flavorful and spiced to perfection. I plan to order an extra naan next time, with the sauces being a bit liquidy, it would be nice to have more to soak it up with. Yes it was busy busy..but it was damn good. I have wanted to try dosa for a while. I ordered it at a place more local to me but something else entirely was delivered, so I have had a giant dosa shaped hole in my heart since July. Thank you, Curry Club. I loved the dosa. The rice was so perfectly fragrant and seasoned. My husband is afraid of spice so we got the butter chicken, but I would love to come back and sample the beautiful curries that I saw. Rating this as a counter service Indian food restaurant, solid 5 stars! We loved the selection of Curries, Dosa's, sides and so much more. Staff at the counter were very helpful in explaining the ordering process and describing the food. While I frequently eat Indian food, much was unfamiliar to me. Prices were reasonable given the portions and quality. I even appreciated that the POS system didn't prompt me for a tip. Overall, this is a smallish establishment, but it's perfect for the amount of foot traffic they receive. Here's what we ordered: - Ghee/Butter Dosa (4/5): I should have ordered something with flavor added like onion or masala. This was executed very well, but it was kind of plain. That was totally on me. The chutney/sauces on the side were fire! Sambal was awesome too. - Vegetable curry: (4.5/5) Veggies were cooked perfectly. Potatoes were not overcooked. Perfect medium spice level. - Mango Dahl: (4.75/5) Very well done. My favorite dish. Couldn't taste mango, but it added to the richness of the sauce. - Butter chicken: (4.25/5) really good. I LOVE the Curry Club! They have a super good lunch deal on the weekdays that includes 2 curries, rice, and naan for 9.99 (if you get the non-veg) or 7.99 for a vegetarian lunch special. I like to add a one-cup curry as well on the side (4.49 for meat) when I go with the fam. You order at the front and then place your trays near the trash when you're done. Almost all of their items are compostable too, which is very cool. They rotate out their curry offerings but always have the butter chicken and paneer butter masala. I personally really enjoy the chicken 65(?) when they have it-- it's a dry spiced boneless chicken dish that has a very nice kick. We got the butter chicken and chili chicken today; the butter chicken is a classic and the chili chicken was great too! A little sweet for my liking but still very tasty. The portions are very generous and filling-- if I'm not super hungry it will last two meals. The restaurant is pretty full and popular with the lunch crowd as well! If you're allergic to peanut -this place isn't for you because they use peanut oil. It's a self serve restaurant so you order and pay at the counter, pick up when your food is ready and clean up after. Their menu is big with Wednesday and weekend specials. They also have a big selection of Dosas. The restaurant was spacious and has a clean eating area. It was our first time here so I was slow at ordering and felt overwhelmed since there was a line behind me. On the left by the dosa station, they have free soup. I got lentil soup that day. I really liked the mango lassi here - it tasted delicious and not overly sweet. Masala dosa was good but I am sure any dosa was fine. I didn't enjoy the Kurma curry and roti ( it's wed special). While we were there, a lot of people came and went - people ordered to go and came in to pick up orders placed online. It's sparsely decorated which is not a big deal to me. I was glad that their dips for the dosa were not too spicy like other places, though their samba soup was more spicy; they also had 2 dry chilies inside the dosa if you like extra spicy. The cilantro chicken curry was also on the spicy side. All the items were delicious and appropriate temperature. The dosa was a bit too oily and chikku milkshake was too sweet for me. I ordered the large and wife got regular size...both came in the same size container so fairly confident I got cheated. That was ok though as mine was mostly bone from whatever chicken was in there. First time here and will definitely come back! Our Indian friend recommended and we visited this place. Their portions are very big. We tried onion pakoda, goat biryani, paratha veggie curry, everything was delicious. Paratha is a type of fried bread, little greasy and tasty, came with red onions. Taj Mahal beer tastes like honey but not sweet. I like it! On the menu it says 5 piece of Onion Pakoda but they give a lot more than that. I don't think they even count! :) I suggest bringing lots of people to share food, or take home. This is a lot of delicious food you wouldn't want to waste. Service is pretty fast. It was packed around 7pm on a tuesday night but line went fast. This place is at a strip mall and not too big, maybe 10 tables inside. Nothing fancy. Eat'n'go! I wish this place was a little cleaner though. We got a table that was dirty. A guy who serves the food came and cleaned immediately, but there was still sticky juice on the floor, they never came back to clean. They give lots of food and usually overflown. Apparently they are too busy, great for them. But unfortunately there is noone else to take care of the cleanness. We ordered onion pakora - they were good but not hot at all. Then we ordered Onion Uttapam , onion rava masala dosa and mysore masala dosa - all dosas were good. Then we got the tea apparently they have 2 sizes , we opted big one. Tea was amazing. Came here looking for south indian food during lunch. The ready-made goat curry and sambar actually had a good flavor. It was frustrating that I waited close to an hour for a single dosa to be cooked (takes a few minutes to make at home with the batter). I think it's a win if my dad said he might start coming to this place on his own, when I'm usually the one who has to force my family to come out and try new foods. The plaintain baji from the day's lunch options was cold and stale from maybe sitting out for too long. However, the masala dosa was delicious even if my indian friends said it looked a little flat :/ What I liked in particular about the masala dosa is that the potato filling inside was actually savory by itself compared to some others I've had.
