I had purchased an Spod/Bantam Pod (gang switch ) for all my lights and train horn, it was not installed correctly, I brought my truck to Brett and his team and they sorted it all out. They worked on my truck for close to 11 hours, typically they close at 6pm however they stayed late to finish the job, and didn't rush anything. They have a great shop, if you can't leave your truck/car they have a couch which is very inviting. I have nothing but good things to say about, The Custom Shop ! I don't know where to start. These guys are absolutely outstanding. I read some reviews on here, when I was thinking about lifting my wrangler, and they all seem on point. As a woman, I was intimidated going to a shop to get my truck lifted and worried I'd feel 1) uncomfortable and 2) taken advantage of. Well, that was as far from what I got when I walked into The Custom Shop for the first time. Brett was behind the counter and introduced himself. He was super positive, sounded eager, but also extremely laid back and very patient. I went in there knowing all the parts I wanted ahead of time, and he helped me build my jeep and found the best prices and we ordered the stuff together. He never tried to sway me one way or another, or tried to do stuff that would be easier and more profitable for him. He let me have free rage and was up to install anything I ordered. The prices for labor are the best. The techs are just as awesome as Brett, as is his co-owner. They let me bring my dog, Baron, and let me wrench on my Jeep, so I could have a good idea of what was going on, in case something broke while on the trails. It's the kind of place you will go back to for continued work. You leave feeling great and without feeling like you were taken advantage of. Their laid back atmosphere by no means implies they are slow. While they ARE methodical, my lift, wheels, tires, bumpers, and paint/powder coating was done super quickly. Work done on car was fine but left bitter taste in mouth when received notice in mail about an unpaid parking ticket in the mail. The morning I arrived for scheduled appt and pulled into garage, there were cars parked ahead of mine that had to be backed out of the shop. I was forced to vacate and parked across the street in front of a hydrant. As I was leaving after discussing work to be performed, I pointed to my car out front and left keys on counter with Shawn. Additionally, I spoke to Shawn over the phone soon after leaving the shop to discuss adding on to work originally requested, to which he had to walk out to the car and examine the car to provide an accurate quote. I think everyone that has dropped off a car at any shop would agree that once you hand over the keys, the shop is responsible for the car until picked up by owner. Strangely, there was also no evidence of a ticket left on windshield or mention when I picked up the car later that day. I stopped by to speak to Brett (owner) about the incident to which he took zero responsibility and allocated all blame to me for parking in front of a hydrant when I dropped off the car. This is honestly the last thing I would expect after dropping off a car at a shop of any caliber. Disappointed by this experience but will move on as there are bigger problems in the world. read more

About time I give these guys a review. They've worked on my Audi S4 since the get-go. It started with a simple tint job and chrome delete about 2 years ago. I was so happy with the workmanship of the tint job I came to them again almost a year later and they remembered me. Now that's customer service! We eventually hit it off and I decided to use them for a full wrap job. They did a tremendous job from consultation to sending me updates throughout the week and to the final end product. Till this day it has held up really well and I get so much recognition at shows and even random strangers on the streets will run up to me and give me the thumbs up. It didn't stop there. I see how popular air suspensions were becoming and my hands got itchy but I was unfamiliar with the whole air system. I was afraid to jump at it but after multiple consultations with The Custom Shop, I handled them my keys yet again in full trust. They did an amazing job with the install and they over delivered with a showpiece of a custom trunk setup. I got to keep my spare tire and I didn't loose much of my trunk space. Now thats the best of both worlds. My car looks sick and it fits a stroller for my baby. Now I've run out of things to do to my car but I still come to the shop to kick it with the guys at the shop. They never shun me away and always welcome me like family. These guys work on everything. They will never turn you down based on the car you drive. They are lovers of all car. I've owned my 2014 Jeep JK for a year and half and got the bug to lift it. It seemed like there were no reputable 4 x 4 shops in NYC. The best shop in the U.S.A. the staff are very professional and treat you like family. I went in to upgrade my tire carrier on my wrangler,radio speakers,50 inch led light bar and a 20 inch led light bar. All of my questions were answered thoroughly. Worst place to go too not very reliable and do and their jobs sucks and too expensive

Brett reached out to me and offered me a full refund (actually offered to also pay for part of my install at the other place as well). As I stated before, I do believe he is a victim in all this and the tech is really the one to blame. Because of that I declined the refund but we're working something else out instead. I've heard good things about the shop since then so inclined to give them another chance to make it up. I'm changing my rating because all though I did have a bad experience, Brett will stand by his word and will do everything to make it right. You don't find that kind of honesty now. I am not the one who used to keen on writing review. But my experience with the Custom Shop was terrible that I want to warn everything before even going there and wasting your time. I called them to get a quote for chrome delete for my vehicle. The guy, name Will, quote me 600 after I told him the year, make and model of my car and the location I need to do the chrome delete. He told me I need to bring my vehicle there to get exact measurement and also the exact pricing, which I understand. When I drove all the way from Staten Island to Queens, I asked for Will when arrived the shop. The guy there saying he was not in, but he will take care of me. After he looked at my vehicle, can you believe the price he quote ?? $ 1,800 !!!!! Well, I understand, what was quote on phone was estimate but triple the amount? When I told this guy I did speak with Will over the phone just one day before and he told me estimate of $600. This guy, who said he is the owner said "I am sorry about that. Will was one of the partner before but he left this business. It just happen yesterday he came here and he see I am busy and help me pick up the phone" If you have no authority to do the quote, why you answer the phone and just quote?? I went there because I see this shop has a good review. But with my personal real life experience, I would like to alert you and think before you go to this shop. read more
