Creme brulee at the new years dinner
    Angela C.

Previously visited once when they were at their old location with a friend. We've been recently several times and went to their new years ticketed event and we really enjoy our time here, food and the drinks. Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend. The nachos and creme brulee are absolutely amazing.

The Cut is a whole vibe and I love everything about it! They are very strict on IDs so even if you are 60+ you will get need to bring your ID to get in. There is a great bar with bartenders that can make all kinds of drinks even create something based on your preferences. We usually sit at the bar but there are some tables to sit at and a whole room in the back that is great for bigger groups. This past time we snagged some spring rolls just to try the food and they were good for a bar, one day I will try more of the food.

My husband and I love going here! This is definitely our favorite bar in town! We love their pho\pad Thai Tuesdays. We also love going there for brunch or for a craft cocktail at any time. Their bartenders are talented and can make any cocktail you want. They can also craft a custom cocktail if you aren't sure what you want. You just have to tell them what you like and they will make you a delicious drink. I've never been disappointed! Their regular food menu is also amazing. Jacqueline, the owner, is always present and so friendly. She even sets up a non-bias election table with all the info you would want. This place is such a hidden gem in Sylva. I want it to stay that way but I also want other people to enjoy its amazingness!

When the special of the night is "Alfredo... with chicken, pork, or steak, take your pick!" and it's also already on the menu... this is a red flag. I quickly started scanning the menu for something that might not give me food poisoning. When the food is stored in outside freezers and there's a horde of live cats running around everywhere... it's a red flag. I love good bar food, but this was not good. My wife's Philly Cheesesteak tasted like propane gas. My chili dog was on par with something you might get at a junior high football game. Even my kids rejected their chicken tenders, which is saying something. Just 100% industrial, frozen, crap. The $13 margarita was even bad. It tasted like bad sour mix and may have had a drop or two of tequila in it. Giving one star for the server, who tried her best. And the location on the river was very nice. Service was slow too though. This was the worst $85 "dinner" I've had in a very, very long time. For the love of god, reduce the size of your menu and do a few things really well. No one wants a bunch of frozen entrees at a bar.

The space itself is incredibly cool, featuring exposed concrete, a massive back bar, a vintage print shop sign, and my personal favorite--a disco ball chandelier. The bartenders were so welcoming and fantastic to chat with during our visit. They were running a super fun '90s throwback menu while we were there. If it's still available when you drop in, definitely try the "Last Time Lover" and "Smells Like Green Spirit." The Last Time Lover even came with a nostalgic butterfly clip holding a Spice Girls photo! If you're a cocktail fan, I highly recommend this spot. I'll definitely be back on my next trip to Asheville.

Their espresso martini is probably the best I've ever had -- perfectly balanced, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Every bartender here is incredibly knowledgeable. They can make anything you ask for and then walk you through the history and origins of the cocktail like you're getting a mini masterclass with your drink. The bar itself is beautiful, with an impressive selection of spirits and a menu full of creative cocktails featuring ingredient combinations you'd never expect to work together -- but somehow they absolutely do. It's also one of the best places in the city to sit back and people-watch while enjoying a perfectly made drink. Do not skip The Times -- honestly, it's worth going out of your way to stop there.

Still pretty formal, but more desirable for us versus formal dining. 4. We had 6 different cocktails and all were great. 5. Food wise, we started with deviled eggs, then a wedge salad, finishing with the Surf/Turf. All were great. I personally didn't love the relish on the deviled eggs (sweet), but it worked. 6. If I have any constructive feedback, I'd ask the manager, Brad, to stop pacing through the lounge. During our 1.5 hours there, he walked through the lounge in front of our table, at least 20 times and it became a detractor for us. Occasionally we'd see him seat a customer instead of the hostess, but otherwise, not sure he was actually adding any value with pacing. I'd suggest sitting back and observing, and helping when needed rather than hovering and pacing. The lounge is just too small to not notice.

We started very early this evening 6/22 at Raven with res in the lounge for two. Two couples at the bar and no tables taken when we arrived. We were seated at the absolute worst table in the lounge, looking at the curtains and only 1/4 view of bar. We asked to move 4 ft over to the corner booth to see into the room. We remained the only table occupied for 50 min...why did they choose to shut us out in the corner? Cocktails, wine, split the wedge salad, excellent. Waygu burger great, but our Coral Gables neighborhood Ruth's Chris NY Strip is better. When our waitress asked if we wanted dessert we said no...our waitress, who had been lovely, said she wasn't surprised and it was 'impressive' how much we ate...she was saying we ate a lot? one app/2 entrees? At $260. We will not be back.

Every time we go, I'm kind of shocked it's not absolutely packed. This is part of the Foothills Meats family, and if you know their spots (the butcher shop, the food truck, The Grange, etc.), you already know--they don't miss. So we went in the first time pretty confident, and they absolutely delivered. The space itself is great, but the rooftop is the real standout--easily one of the best views in Black Mountain. It's such a good spot to sit, have a drink, and hang out. Speaking of drinks--the bar is excellent. The bartenders have always been great, super easy to sit at the bar and enjoy yourself. They've got a strong liquor selection and fun, well-balanced cocktails. Now the food. Everything we've had has been consistently good, but our last visit really stood out. We shared the pork katsu sandwich, the sweet potato biscuits, and the poutine. The pork katsu was done really well--crispy on the outside, tender inside, with that classic crunch from the cabbage and a slightly sweet, tangy katsu-style sauce. I also really liked that the sauce was on the side so you could control each bite. The sweet potato biscuits surprised us--in the best way. Those are easy to mess up, and these were not. Soft, flavorful, slightly sweet with that savory balance, paired with ham, sorghum butter, smoked cheddar, and red eye gravy--it's a really thoughtful combination that just works. And the poutine... so good. Crispy fries, rich mushroom gravy, and cheese curds that actually hold their texture. It's hearty without being heavy, and every bite felt balanced. For the level of quality they're putting out, the prices are very reasonable--which makes it even more surprising that it's not more crowded. It's right in downtown Black Mountain, but we actually drive all the way from Flat Rock to come here--and it's absolutely worth it every time. Overall, this place just nails it. Great drinks, really solid food, beautiful setting--and somehow still flying a bit under the radar. Definitely worth checking out.
