I wish my food tasted as good as it looked. The place was a mess when I walked in. Boxes everywhere. I ordered the flatbread which was soggy and gross. The food has 0 seasoning and was bland. The smoothie is what gets me mad because I didn't know you could mess up a smoothie. It literally tasted like water and berries blended up. While I was eating the woman was sitting at a table behind me and was blaring music from her phone. Oh and they only take cash or venmo. Completely unprofessional place and sub-par food. Nothing says "welcome" like a disinterested lady doing hamstring stretches on the floor among empty cardboard boxes when you walk in, and nothing makes you want to settle down to a meal like hearing this same lady grousing to the next customer about her raw chicken. Walked into the place and it seemed pretty welcoming, the woman behind the counter greeted us and told us she will be with us in a minute. When she took our order she did not even face us or indicate she was listening so we stood there until she said "I can hear you" so we ordered and she was out of spinach and cucumbers so I could not get what I initially wanted so I ordered a veggie panini. The woman was a bit rude when we did order and had a slight attitude at some times and overall was not very friendly and we felt like an inconvenience to her. When the food came out my veggie panini was okay. The food is good for the low prices but would not recommend it if you are sensitive to attitudes. So, I will start off by saying the sandwich was very excellent. Me and my coworkers all got different sandwiches, and we each loved ours. The bread was super delicious too! However, maybe takeout is the best option for this place. The inside is just absolutely tiny. And the furniture is very weird. There was a GIANT double-wide outdoor furniture set. And some tiki furniture? And the whole place is carpeted. Gag. It just has a very dirty vibe inside. Which doesn't lend well to getting takeout either, but at least it's much better. The menu looked right up my alley but unfortunately my sandwich was missing key ingredients and had random others added to it. When we came in the woman working was listing off ingredients she didn't to another customer have so maybe they were out and I just didn't know it. She was quite snappy bordering on rude with us and also with people who came in and those who called the phone. The shop itself was a bit of a mess with boxes all over the floor and piles of paperwork on tables and counters. The sandwiches took a bit but that is totally understandable for 1 person making several orders worth of food. Afterwards I took a look at reviews and found the snappiness/not ideal customer service to be a bit of a trend. I would say I may have caught her on a bad day but that seems to be a well used reply of hers to other reviewers. A suggestion to the owner, if you do employ workers, perhaps schedule more than one at a time? Our server seemed stressed and agitated from the amount of orders she had. The place has potential but needs some work. Overall, I would not return. The food was extremely disappointing and the customer service was lacking. There is another restaurant, Nora's, that has similar foods and far better reviews that I will visit instead of The Cutting Board. read more

Figured I should check this place out; I ordered the PIPER: a panini of turkey, granny smith apples, swiss, bacon, basil, mayo, lettuce & tomato on a toasted ciabatta for $6.95. It was quite good and fairly decent sized; I only ate half and had half for the next day. Music piping in on the radio was a bit eclectic; 80s-90s and then more recent. The couple next to me remarked it was a weird music selection (critique of the station, not the place). Cute little place; will have to come back and try some of their salads. read more

Food is good but the service is poor. Server/owner makes you feel like a nuisance and get grouchy when she's trying to close early. Food availability goes down on weekends. There isn't a lot you can say about Cutting Board besides FRESH. Everything on their menu is reflective of a healthy, well balanced diet (quinoa "cereal bowls", avocado in abundance, classic contrasts between sweet fruit, lean chicken and turkey meats, and sharper cheeses, interesting dressings), and while not the cheapest place around is by far the best place to go for breakfast or lunch. They're open from 7-2:30 most days (checking before you go is always a good idea), and be warned that in the warmer months they can get pretty busy. With one girl typically behind the counter doing orders for pickups as well as walk ins, sometimes there's a little wait. It can also get hot even with the ac due to the small space and hot equipment, but that's just par for the course. In short, Cutting Board is small deli with big city-style ambience. You get exactly what you pay for: fresh ingredients with a healthy lean, mellow atmosphere, and endless loops of Dave Matthews Band songs. Doesn't get too much better than that. read more

If you enjoy a healthy serving of passive aggressive attitude from the owner this is the spot for you. This was my first and will be my only experience in the restaurant. I looked at the on line menu and it did not list the ingredients for the smoothies so when I called to place the order I asked what the ingredients were for two of the smoothies and if there would be any other dairy if in it if I opted for almond milk. She was very obviously annoyed by my (a first time customers) questions. I ordered two smoothies and a salad anyway. Maybe she was busy/stressed..ok. I get there and the order wasnt ready so I sat down and looked at the book laying on the table which I looked at. When I look up and she is staring at me with no mask and one glove telling me it was her personal book she was just reading and didn't put away and that she doesnt know how to sanitize books properly. I apologized and then she, the sometimes maskless one gloved woman said something to the effect of she hoped she didn't get sick and die. (Since I looked at her book) Even though she had prepared my food without wearing a mask part of the time and just the one glove. Her demeanor improved slightly when it came time to pay. Maybe she wanted a tip? Too bad she was so rude and not taking many precautions herself for someone who was apparently very afraid for her own personal safety. read more

Love this place. Tons of Healthy options. I only get to try this place on Saturday's because they are open from 7am- 2pm M-S, so with working in Syracuse, I never make it there during the week. I've tried at least 5 or 6 different items and they're all good, especially the Thai peanut salad. Can't say that the staff (owner?) is very friendly though. Great sandwich shop. The Luna is the best sandwich! Also open for breakfast burritos! One problem this weekend of Harborfest though and I hope the owner reads this. There was only one employee working the shop. She was overwhelmed with customers and orders. Was in the mood for a smoothie today so I called ahead to order. My berry smoothie was ready for me when I got there and it was tasty! Definitely a cool place I've drove by many times and never stopped in (mainly due to the hours). My only complaint is that they have a $8 card minimum that I didn't know about. I'm new to the Oswego area (I work at the college) and I've been trying different lunch spots each week. Last week I tried the Layla panini and was very pleased with the quality, price, and taste!! The Layla comes with ham, sharp white cheddar cheese, mayo, tomato, and raspberry preserves. The preserves add a unique sweetness that counteracts with the cheese. This sandwich was amazing and I can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu. read more

Great menu for those who prefer a healthier diet. Choose a sandwich on the multigrain bread - the best grain bread that doesn't have the grainy texture. Great combinations of healthy ingredients breaks away from the bread and meat predecessors. A great spot for breakfast too.
