There isn't a lot you can say about Cutting Board besides FRESH. Everything on their menu is reflective of a healthy, well balanced diet (quinoa "cereal bowls", avocado in abundance, classic contrasts between sweet fruit, lean chicken and turkey meats, and sharper cheeses, interesting dressings), and while not the cheapest place around is by far the best place to go for breakfast or lunch. They're open from 7-2:30 most days (checking before you go is always a good idea), and be warned that in the warmer months they can get pretty busy. With one girl typically behind the counter doing orders for pickups as well as walk ins, sometimes there's a little wait. It can also get hot even with the ac due to the small space and hot equipment, but that's just par for the course. In short, Cutting Board is small deli with big city-style ambience. You get exactly what you pay for: fresh ingredients with a healthy lean, mellow atmosphere, and endless loops of Dave Matthews Band songs. Doesn't get too much better than that.

Their ingredients are locally sourced, and all of their menu items are fresh and made from scratch. I walked into Riverwalk Bagel on a rare morning trip to Oswego village and wanted some breakfast. Ordered a ham, egg and cheese on a jalapeno cheddar bagel. Got it, started eating and everything seemed fine. Meat was piled high, bagel was decent, but as I took a bite or two, I noticed something green in my egg. Not really sure how I missed it, as the spots are noticeable even in the pic I took before I started eating. I took the sandwich apart to see that there were green spots all over my egg. I took it to the front counter to see if maybe there was something they put in the eggs I didn't know about, but the response was basically "no, they're just old and get green spots on them when left in the steamer too long." I watched another employee go to the steamer and throw away the remaining eggs, but received no offer to remake mine or anything, employees were pretty apathetic the entire time I was there. I'm not expecting employees of a bagel shop to jump for joy or anything, but the complete lack of interest from the employees when I expressed a concern about an admitted problem on their end will probably keep me from coming back again.

We have tried most pizza joints in Oswego- and none of them quite hit the mark. Cold upon arrival-…read moreraw onion tossed on the pizza prior to arrival (oops we meant to cook it) or just crappy pizza! So we decided to try Pizza Villa and we are pretty happy with the pizza. It is on the thicker side which presents a small issue that I will address- but the flavor was great, toppings abundant and the baked wings were delicious. Heading home from Liverpool we called and placed a pickup order. Meat pizza with onions and an order of plain wings- crispy. Staff that answered the phone were great and informative and after a "give us about 30 min" I hung up the phone and headed their way. Arrived to lots of smiles and happy staff making pizzas and wings and told them we had not had great experiences with other places in Oswego- and they said "well we hope you love ours" Got home and dug in. The pizza and sauce (just the right amount) is delicious. I had asked for it to be well done as we generally prefer thin crust, theirs is pretty thick, and they obliged. The wings were really great and fell off the bone. The only criticism I have is that due to the thickness of the crust, it wasn't cooked through and was doughy. They seem to cook the pizza in a pan in the oven and it doesn't have direct contact with the oven (that is what I saw) so perhaps the pan is keeping the crust from cooking through? Not sure- but it was the only draw back. It wasn't horribly undercooked just enough that it was noticeable. Other than that- great taste, great experience and we will be back!!
