UPDATE I had to do a chargeback on my credit card to be refunded because from the jump, Violetta refused to own her obviously horrible haircut. Violetta is an unethical and untalented artist and deserves to be rated as such. This will take months if not a year for us to grow out. A refund isn't even enough. She doesn't listen, she is cold and gives off a very unprofessional vibe. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

Ali is great. Has been doing my pedis for seven years or so. Takes sanitation seriously. She knows how to make your time relaxing (great chair, too), and we laugh a lot. I can't imagine going anywhere else. read more

Moving to a new town can be great fun. Finding a new hairstylist, however, is generally not. I loved my Anchorage hair stylist (shoutout to Tara at Halo!), who rescued me and my pixie after my hair was butchered at another place in town. But I had two different recommendations for the same stylist at The Cutting Edge, so even though I was nervous when I ventured in, I was hopeful. And my hopes were met by an outstanding cut and a delightful experience. Marchelle, you are every bit the perfectionist I had been promised. Now I know why one of your client recommenders was loathe to give your name away, saying she was afraid you'd get too booked up! (I admit to the same concern, but I just have to sing praises where due!) Marchelle listened to my instructions and looked at my example picture, asked me questions, restated what I wanted to make sure we were on the same page, revisited the picture, and checked in with me a couple of times during the cut to have me look at things and answer more questions. The result is a cut that looks EXACTLY like what I wanted. I also appreciated her regular use of the hair dryer to remove those pesky hairs off of my face throughout the cut. As for the salon itself, it's a lovely open space, and the other stylists seemed happy to be there--all smiles and also compliments on my refreshed 'do. I liked that they offer you a t-shirt to wear during the style to keep clothes clean, that they have a nice, clean place that feels good to hang out in. I saw two comfy pedicure chairs I look forward to checking out the next time I can talk myself into a foot-pampering. The prices are competitive, and they use good products (I even found a new hair wax that might force me to switch from my long-beloved Bumble and Bumble). Now, I can go to the fair with my sassy hair and rest happily in the knowledge that I have found my stylist. read more

The Cutting Edge Salon - The closest I'll ever get to looking like Natalie Portman! - Hair Salons Near Me - Moses Lake, Washington

I want to start by saying that I had my hair colored several weeks ago, and it was PERFECT. It was gorgeous. It was exactly what I asked for, and I am very specific to ensure I get the right thing. Unfortunately, I am now revising my initial review to reflect my most recent experience, yesterday. Primarily, due to the lack of professionalism and demeanor of my stylist, whom I am naming only because I don't want this review to reflect on anyone else's work, was Marchelle. I went in for a root touch-up. My base color just needed toned, like she did my last visit. I asked for a root smudge to better blend grow-out. I requested the same tone family as before and was very specific with my desire, backed by images. I ended up with a golden copper that barley covered. I had a drastic line around the front and chunky gold and copper highlighted stripes across the top. Just about as opposite as my request and images. I messaged her to get back in for a fix. I proceeded to send more images of my desires so there would be no mistaken what I was after. Unfortunately, I ended up with a way worse outcome. My roots turned out a strange (depending on the lighting) muddy auburn/greenish and the lengths, depending on the light a muddy blueish, greenish off tone. After she finished drying and asked what I thought, my response was, "I don't know what to say, I want to cry". This is where things turned worse. She walked me up to the front, in natural light and my thoughts were the same. She response was, "this is what you asked for". I explained what I was seeing, and all she could say was, "I think it's beautiful". Her tone was irritated and snarky at this point. She went to the back to grab her stylist friend, to back her up. Her first comment to her was, "she said she wants to cry" in a sarcastic tone. She asked to see that image I used as an example, and as I left, I could hear them whispering. When I returned and showed the image, she also argued that it was beautiful and that what I was seeing was basically my imagination. Her behavior and attitude escalated more at this point. I explained that it was not at all what I asked for. I was respectful yet blunt. She kept saying that she gave me what I wanted, it's beautiful, etc. She then proceeded to take the smock off, with a quick and hasty attitude, and said, "have a nice day", and stormed off. I write this because my experience was unacceptable to a high degree. My request should have been easily achievable since prior to my last visit, I was close to the image presented. I hope that this review will help ensure that this does not happen again in the future. note that my review on Facebook has been removed.
