We were excited to try this place as we have driven by a few times. When we walked in at 1:50 PM, we were greeted by a couple that were sweeping and closing up shops telling us that they close at two. They didn't invited us in in fact they really gave us the impression we were not welcome. My sister asked "do you always close ten miniatures before you close?" I'd like some more seasonal flavors to choose from, but Earl Grey is a favored stand by! The tables were full of local folks enjoying this neighborhood café. I heard terms like "he's one of those good ole boys that's been around foreva'" and "they live down by the Rivah". These homey country phrases warmed my heart as much as my tea warmed my spirit! I'd love to give this place a full, proper review, because when I actually ate here, over 10 years ago, it was good. I've been trying to go back since, but I have to take a day off of work, or apparently work in town, because their hours are horrible. Maybe the owners don't need the money and business, or they just don't care for working past 2pm or at all on weekends. I ddcided to go on a road trip for my day off and came to the town of Warsaw. I found this neat spot since it was one of the few open based on google maps (since I dont even get 3G signal on my phone here). It is a different and neat looking place with friendly staff. Bagel was prepared on the spot with my choice of i gredients and the coffee was okay. Very clean place too, just wish ot had more options of bakery items. There were only 1 type of cookies and a muffin, and it would be really nice to have more options. Prices are okay. It just seems too big of a place for the purpose of the business. read more

The Daily is one of the best places in the Northern Neck for Lunch. The three criteria of setting/ambiance; Service; and food are easy to review. The ambiance is high ceiling airy and bright. Seating is spacious so you are not on top of the next diner. No table cloths and that is a positive. Service is very good. Each of the ladies serve with efficiency and kindness. Most important they don't auction the food when it is served they know who has which meal. The food is excellent for breakfast and lunch. The best Roast beef sandwich I've had since Hodges in DC closed. The soup is outstanding and every dish is prepared with care. read more

Simple yet plainly elegant setting with a 'Mom's Deli' atmosphere and delicious freshly prepared meals. Local owned and operated by a seriously frenzied chef and delightful waitstaff. You feel like you've order the sandwich of the day every time, but it's just the menu. Everything is topped to perfection and crisp when it's needed. The Daily has been a staple of my travels down the Northern Neck. It's the best place for a coffee and a sandwich between Fredericksburg and Gloucester. I'm not from the Northern Neck, but my grandparents are. We went down and stayed with them for a week and were looking for something to do while down there. We drove by this cafe one day and it looked really neat, especially since I'm a journalism student and it has a big picture of a newspaper on the side. Anyway, we ate lunch there and it was delicious; I got "The Warsaw" grilled sandwich, complete with potato chips and a pickle. Unfortunately I didn't get to buy a coffee and dessert, too, but I will definitely stop by next time we're down and try that! It seems like a great place to hang out--definitely really chill and laid back. I would have given five stars but I don't think they offered wireless internet, something a cafe like that really should have these days. read more

Let me start with why such a harsh rating. The 1 star is not so much a reflection on the food as it is getting the food. I have eaten at the Daily several times and twice I have ordered something that is a popular item and it they are out of it. So in the name of saving money by not having to much food they actually could be losing money because of losing customers who get tired of ordering something to be told they are out of it. Next I go into the restaurant yesterday at 1:50 and wait at the register for a couple of minutes and not one person acknowledged my presence, they see they just chose to ignore me. So I just come and say can I see a to go menu and the girl I ask says we're not serving anymore. Now let me be clear, I am not a customer who they have had any problems with or negative interactions, so that you understand that I am not one of those customers that a restaurant could do without. The sign on the door said open and according to the internet maps they are open until 2. It was probably closer to quarter till when I walked in because I looked at my watch when I was sitting at the traffic light after leaving and it was 10 of. Now in full disclosure here is a review of the food. First I ordered French dip roast beef sandwich twice only to be told that it was not available so no review there and I just quit asking for it. The Reuben is not to bad and it would be a 3 and a half stars. Club sandwich is a 4 star. One big plus is that they serve half sandwiches, but what is the use if you turn customers away while you are open and are out of the food they ask for. 1 star is in my opinion earned. They are a very busy lunch restaurant and maybe they feel they don't worry about how to treat people because they have enough business. But they lost mine and I believe others will follow if this becomes the norm. read more

I could not rate any stars due to the fact that I was not served at The Daily. I was recently in Warsaw for a training. The waitress would not serve me or my coworkers. I guess due to being black. We waited for over 20 minutes while the waitress looked at us and continued to clean tables around us. Don't go to The Daily if you are BLACK.. Nice place with mediocre coffee and OK breakfast. The coffee is truly mediocre and I drink it straight to taste the coffee and no refills which is usually reserved for coffee to go. The breakfast sandwich of ham and egg with cheese was hot and tasty but would be much better on other than commercial sliced sandwich bread. The bacon and cheese omelet was good and the bagel again a commercial one but OK? The lack of anything fresh baked is a negative but then they don't advertise as a bakery. We would not hesitate to stop again for breakfast and may also stop to try the lunch sandwiches. read more
