I've been wanting to check out St. Inie's Coffee, which is a combo of a coffee shop/bookstore - We stuck with their Fall Menu, and I tried their Iced Pumpkin Pie Chai - this was prepared with housemade pumpkin pie sauce, cold steeped chai, and a choice of milk - I liked how they served this in a cute glass mason jar. If you can't finish your drink, they have this cool contraption of a paper to-go cup that you can request! The seating area was dimly list and plenty of tables; the only off-putting thing was that it smelled like urine; not sure if they need to do a deep-clean of the carpet? I don't remember what this space used to be but it was definitely not a cafe. This distinctively shaped building has been turned into a reading room, children's play area, and cafe, which the community could really use. Food options are basic, but they have made a choice to carry some packaged gluten-free goods and some milk alternatives, so most diets can be accommodated. I got an iced matcha, which was straightforward and not overly sweet. Getting a waffle seemed the freshest option, and it was a sugary, tasty waffle with a few topping options, of which I picked a drizzle of maple syrup. Neither item was very large, but the price was right. It's a distinctive atmosphere, and you can see that this place is trying to bring something new to the area. My son and his girls come here often to enjoy the wonderful selection of books they have and the kids area. I am very impressed with the amount of gently used and some new books they have ranging from kids to adults from DIY to factual and history and everything in between. That's the real reason to go there. The 2 times I have gone I have to say the customer service was OK. Not too helpful, when you ask a question as a first time visitor I got a weird look instead of an explanation. The drinks we got were just OK last time. Beignets we're very cold and nearly frozen and obviously from a frozen package. Which I wasn't expecting. Today I did try the Sipping Broth- Pho Delight. I enjoyed that but again the customer service was not friendly at all. The woman working in the back seemed friendly to the regular people but the young man taking orders didn't smile - there was no hello - no greeting at all. He just stood at the register until I spoke. For a local coffee shop I expected a much friendlier and welcoming place. I will tho- return to buy books. A very fun book store coffee shop. We had matcha, cold brew, and two pour overs and carrot cake muffin and walk around waffle with Nutella. The service was good and they explained the menu and coffees. They do not have flavored syrups but do have plant based creamer. We enjoyed our coffee and treats while browsing the books. This is a gem that I didn't know I was missing! If you are in St Mary's county and love books, coffee, and/ or tea, this is a place you must visit. They have so many new and used books at great prices. (Including children, adult and non fiction). I ordered a chai latte and it was spicy in a good chai way. It had a delicious tea taste and not the syrup taste like at chain coffee places. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. One gentleman was very helpful in helping me look for books. Go to grab a drink or snack, or to sit a while and enjoy the comfy atmosphere. I went in December and there was a craft fair in the children's area. By far one of the best coffee shops to go if you have little ones. They have fresh cookies, welcoming smiles, and a room designed around small kids! They have toys and books to keep your little ones busy as you read a book and enjoy a delicious cup of their fresh coffee. The shop is located in an open area with plenty of parking place and several other shops. But with desserts and coffee like the one they have you wouldn't want to leave the shop. besides the kids will not want to leave! Can I live here? This is my dream coffee shop / used bookstore. Come in and you'll never want to leave. Funky eclectic seating and room decor, fantastic mix is books to choose from (old and new) at very reasonable prices (don't miss the bargain book section in back). Coffee refills if you drink them in-house are a steal. My kids are grown, but the kids room also looked like fun - tons of books for all ages and lots of areas for imaginative play. It's also on the other side of the building from the grownup reading room, so you can have peace and quiet if you don't have littles along. Just a quick in and out here to buy coffee for my son. Nice selection close to the entrance and they'll grind it for you. Lots of books in the big room off to the right. Wasn't sure if they sold them or just have them for patrons to enjoy. Cute place. read more

This is my go to coffee shop in town. I try to spend a couple hours here on Saturday mornings in order to get work done. The coffee is really good but I wish they made it a bit stronger (just my personal preference). I like the variety of roasts but usually stick with dark. I really live this place and wish I could take them with me when I leave this area. The whole atmosphere is awesome! Very quaint. I don't get to come as often as I'd like, but when I do... it's just to study and get schoolwork done. I have never had a bad experience with the barista's like ever! Every single one of them has always been friendly and very knowledgeable about the coffee and food even when I feel like I am asking a dumb question. They have tons of books for purchase, even books from African American Authors, which is absolutely amazing. I have purchased quite a few myself. The only downside... and very minor is I wished they stayed open longer. I really think every small town should have a place like this. I've been going on and off for at least two years and I absolutely think this place is a gem in the community. Oh and I love the coffee and the small dessert waffles! If you are a creamer person... I recommend bringing your own as they only have raw sugar (which is nice) I believe almond milk and simple syrup. Oh one more thing... the brewing system is top notch like I have never seen before.
