My husband decided he wanted to take me to one of new restaurants in Troy and "The Daisy" is where we ended up as a result of the pics that other yelpers posted. When we first walked in I was a little hesitant because the space is small but super cute. We seated our selves and the menus are already on the tables. The menus is small and simple, at other places it takes me forever narrow what I want to order. This was not the case! Host came over about 2 mins after we sat and pour fresh water into our glasses and took our drink orders. I ordered the coconut margarita and it did not disappoint my drink so flavorful it had the right amount of liquor and coconut. My hubby got the passion fruit margarita he loved and said it was refreshing. Now on to food I ordered the cod fish tacos omg these were so gooood!!! The cod was cooked perfectly and had mango pieces , onions , cilantro and I think it was sour cream(sorry I was heaven). My husband had the fried chicken tacos and his chicken was nicely seasoned and flavorful with avocado and other greatness. We were pretty much full after eating two. I arrived to The Daisy at 4:55, right before opening and they were so accommodating and nice! I have never been here before but have been following them on Instagram since they opened. I will say, I thought it would be bigger inside, but to be honest the atmosphere is absolutely amazing and I have no complaints. First, the drinks. WOW. I had the best margarita of my life here tonight!!! If you love coconut, run don't walk to The Daisy and get their coconut marg. Next was the chips and queso, plenty of chips and it arrived within 5 minutes of us putting in the order. We split the coconut shrimp tacos and cod tacos. Both were absolutely amazing!!! My friends and I arrived at The Daisy right at 5 when they opened, which turned out to be just the right time because about 15 minutes later it started to fill up. I was so pleased to find Nikki, who I knew from his excellent work at Little Pecks, behind the counter; he was also our server, an extra treat. I'd had my eye on the coconut milk margarita, knowing it could be either amazing or really weird. It was amazing! Two of my friends got the passionfruit marg, which was also fantastic, and the other got a glass of wine. And the food, oy. We split a few taco plates between us-- the fish, the chorizo, the steak, the pork belly, and the fried chicken-- and found them all to be really, really good. All our critiques were tiny things-- the fish was cooked perfectly, but paired with so many soft-textured things, it needed a crunch; the chicken could have used a dash of the mole sauce from the steak for some heat-- but we agreed that the steak and pork belly were perfection and everything else was really, really, REALLY good. We liked it so much, in fact, we're headed back there for dinner tonight before we go to the movies. UPDATE : Forgot to post this before I left, and can now report that the calamari and fried chicken tacos have beaten the steak for the top spot. As a native Rhode Islander, calamari is very important to me, and this was just perfect, start to finish. Both it and the chicken were fried-- I'm trying not to use the word 'perfect' too much, but it's hard!-- beautifully, and both tacos had a lovely mixture of flavors and textures. The menu was slightly different from the previous time we were there, as well, so it's possible they're still iterating on things and the tiny issues we noticed before might be fixed. Tacos: Ordered the bulgogi and ribeye. Both very good. Bulgogi is a little spicy, my favorite out of the 2 we tried Drinks: Had a margherita each, the coconut and prickly pear. Coconut is like a blend between a pina colada and classic Margherita . LOVED it, however it was too small of a drink for the price. Served in a short tumbler over ice. $13 is a bit much for such a small casual place and teeny tiny margherita. My boyfriend and I are obsessed with tacos. We've tried pretty much any served in the Capital District, and many throughout the US. We were excited to find a new taco place with not your typical taco menu. We both tried the fried chicken and fried calamari tacos, and they were some of the best I've ever had, and definitely the best in the Capital District. They had a perfect crunch to them, and not at all greasy. They had just the right amount of spice to them as well. Really just a great blend of flavors. My only regret is not ordering more. We ate dinner here recently while checking out Eat in the Street one evening and really enjoyed our tacos! We got the beef bulgogi and the coconut shrimp, and both were flavorful, well-executed and pretty generous in terms of portion size (which is a nice quality to have when the tacos are on the pricier side). Service was friendly but chaotic: they seemed very understaffed for the event, which seems like a pretty big oversight on the part of the management considering the fact that Eat in the Street happens every summer Friday. We'd ordered nachos as our app, but unfortunately they were forgotten about and left to get cold until we reminded our server that we'd ordered them after we'd finished our other food. She kindly comped those, but it was hard to tell what they would have been like while still hot and fresh -- cold nachos aren't very appetizing. Overall despite the hiccups I was really happy with our meal here, and I definitely want to come back again on a quieter evening. read more

The ingredients were fresh, but everything else was pretty mediocre. For the appetizer we got guacamole, which essentially just tasted like mashed avocado. No seasoning whatsoever in the guacamole, and the tortilla chips desperately needed salt. For my entrée I got the Beef Bulgogi. The beef had a distinctly burnt flavor and the tortillas were the type you could buy at the store. If the tacos weren't $6/piece I would consider this just myself being picky, but I think for that price you can take the time to mix masa harina and water together and throw it on a skillet for two seconds. To end on a somewhat positive note, the waitstaff were very nice and attentive, but the food itself just fell flat. I recently enjoyed a delicious meal here on a Saturday night with friends. We had a group of six, so we had a drink at the bar to wait for a table to be available, but luckily we arrived on the early side of dinner, so we didn't have to wait too long. We all ordered a variety of tacos and we were all pretty satisfied. As a vegetarian, I tried the mushroom tacos and the Brussels sprouts tacos. I really had a hard time choosing which I liked better, as I loved the richness of the mushrooms, but the black bean paste with the roasted Brussels sprouts is out of this world. I've been to the Daisy quite a few times and have had a great experience with two employees, but tonight two female employees were very rude to my friends and I when we tried to come and have dinner and bogo margaritas. After trying to sit at a table we were told it was being kept free which was obviously completely fine, but then we were completely ignored as we stood at the bar. Some of the best tacos we ever had. My wife and I had the shiitake mushroom, ribeye and cod. The combinations in each were amazing and attention to ingredients/flavors in each taco were brilliant. We felt like we hit the trifecta with first-place street tacos, guacamole, and margaritas. It's one of our favorite places.

This place has seemed to perfectly encapsulate the vibes of the old Little Rice Ball. Although the dinosaur tables will be sorely missed, the unique decor still stands. Wooden forks and knives adorn the tables and you are served on a cafeteria tray. Although I only tried one of their tacos, the pork belly burnt ends, they were super delicious. The tacos also came out super fast. They are very pricey, but considering you're not getting authentic Mexican street tacos and this is more of a hipster place, that's to be expected. Tacos = amazing, so maybe worth the money. I really wanted to try the cocktails while I was here, but I couldn't find my ID anywhere. Sad, but maybe I'll come back and try them. The place is really small and it feels very quiet even if there's music playing and others talking. I feel like I always get an awkward vibe from this place, but the service was superb. Only thing - if you have an allergy of any kind, ask them first. They don't put all the ingredients on the menu, but they have a separate list! read more

I have lived in Cohoes a short time and due to pandemic we didn't and couldn't to to Daisy's. Well we did last night and what a reward! We're from the city and hope to find cafes and good food around our area: this is a treasure right here in this sleepy town of Cohoes. The waiter, Jonathan, was exceptional and made our experience amazing. He encouraged us to have the Queso appetizer which was deliciousness. Then I ordered the pork Vietnamese type taco which was out of this world in every bite. The tact was freshly made and perfect vehicle to deliver a mouthful of succulent pork albeit a bit chewy. But the best were the pickled carrots and red onions on top and a mind blowing slightly spicy sauce which delivered a taste bud sensation each time. Honestly. I am PICKY. The chef had it down.!! I'm ready to go back and try every taco over the summer and when I can drink they have marvelous and creative marguerites. Can't wait. read more

Went to the Daisy on Friday night for some tacos! This is just what Troy has been needing. The atmosphere is amazing it's cute and cozy with full bar seating and then tables for dining too. I started off with the passion fruit margarita which was delicious and then had the Paloma as my second drink which was equally as good. I went with one other friend and we sat at the bar and split chips and guac to start. The guac very well might have been the freshest I've ever had. Highly recommend. For my entree I ordered the cod tacos which were INCREDIBLE. Full of flavor and overall delicious. I'm not sure what sauce was on it but it made it! Also I have to disagree with steve and say that it paired perfectly with the corn tortilla. I live in Boston and have dined at many taco establishments all of which I'm very fond of but I have to say that I wish we had the daisy because it is better! Not to mention the owner and staff are super welcoming and really take care of the customers. I was so excited to hear of a new taco joint in Troy and The Daisy did not disappoint. A friend and I arrived at 7 on a Saturday night and were lucky to be seated immediately at the last 2-top. The restaurant and bar were completely full and there was a group of 4 waiting for a table (just based on the size of the place, I would not recommend dining with more than 4 - there's tabling seating for maybe 30-35 at a mixture of 4 and 2-top tables and bar seating for an additional 10). We tried each of the margaritas and agreed that, at least for our tastes, the passion fruit was superior to the prickly pear. My friend also had the spicy Paloma and said that was her favorite of the night. We then ordered the calamari and chorizo tacos to split. There was a mixup, as the waiter thought we said chicken not chorizo (small crowded space, loud music, it happens) - but they were quick to correct the order and let us have the chicken anyway (definitely not necessary, as we would've happily paid for them). A happy accident it was - the calamari was my personal favorite, but the chicken was absolutely delicious. The chorizo was a solid third place (needed a bit more texture for my personal taste), but that doesn't mean it wasn't good! The other two were just so delicious, it was hard to compete. There was about a half hour wait on the food between when we ordered and when we were served - not a huge deal, but good to note if you're stopping by before a show or event. All together our total for 3 drinks and two orders of tacos was just shy of $60 and we both said we'd dine again. I was really excited to try out this restaurant after having it saved for a few weeks now! My group tried out 3 different margaritas, the nachos, beef bulgogi and pork mojo tacos. We had an extremely friendly waiter and barely had to wait despite the restaurant being slightly small. The music was fantastic and the esthetic was even better! The Daisy has a smaller sized menu and definitely isn't for larger crowds more than 4 people. Despite this, I can't wait to return again and try out new items from the menu! read more

We've been here twice now and have tried every taco on the menu. They are all amazing. Our favorites are the beef bulgogi, coconut shrimp and the sweet potato.
