I've eaten here several times now and have quite enjoyed it each time. You might want to note that the enchiladas are tiny - they're those little things about as big around as a Sharpie such as are served in some places. You get four of them, and they did keep me going through the afternoon, but I didn't feel like I'd eaten a very substantial meal when I was done with them; maybe I should have added some chips and salsa or something. The burritos are of a nice size, if not quite as big or tightly-stuffed as the entity of the same name gotten at Chipotle, and quite tasty. And while the concept of vegetarianism seems to be entirely alien to the staff here, the lady who has served my table every time I've come has managed to quickly get the better of her bewilderment and ask me if potatoes and...other vegetables I don't recall at the moment will be a suitable substitute (they will). The chips and salsa fresca are very nice (and you're actually given almost enough salsa!), as are the house-made jamaica, tamarindo (I think), and horchata (my favorite). And while not as surprisingly cheap as some Hispanic places, Sabroso doesn't break the bank. I recommend.

Goly. I don't know where to start. My life has changed. I never want to eat at another Mexican restaurant again. Sadly I don't live here. The food was delicious. I got the tacos (Pastor, Birria, and Carnitas). Each were amazing. I shared an empanada with my friend and it did not miss. Lastly, I took down 2 churros - perfectly cooked. I finished everything with a Mexican Coke made with real cane sugar. Man, it hit different. If I am ever back in the area, the first thing I do will be eating here. 12/10.

    Birria tacos

Best birria tacos I've EVER had!! We have been here a few times now and are always extremely happy with what the kitchen puts out. The restaurant itself is a little bit of a hole-in-the-wall type of place, but it has become our little secret spot. There's a good amount of options on the menu, food is usually pretty quick. There's never a wait and the staff is always friendly.

Great option if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. I could say that its even better that some taco places around Troy that claim to be authentic. I grew up in Mexico and it took just a bite to make me feel I was back home. Also the staff is very nice and friendly.

It was darkly lit inside (with pinkish/red lights no less); it was extremely loud to the point that I had trouble understanding what my wife was saying (which might not be the background music!); and the prices were expensive. The entire night they played 1980s New-wave British music which I don't mind, but had it been something I detest I would have lost my mind. We were seated at a tiny table with a small candle which provided some actual heat on the cold winter night. Our server was extremely helpful and though he didn't have all the answers he did offer to go and find out. They have a long menu but it doesn't have a lot of food options on it, with most of the pages devoted to alcohol. They had only one dessert option when we were there. My wife and I both ordered the Hanger Steak with fries, mushroom sauce, and green salad (about $40 each). Hanger steak is my favorite cut and hard to find so I jumped on it. Food came out in about 25 minutes, which is amazing considering how small their kitchen is. The steak was cooked perfectly (they didn't ask how we wanted it), smothered in a lovely mushroom sauce, and covered an ample portion of crispy homemade fries which were so good I would have thought them bagged frozen items. Even the basic salad which was just various types of lettuce was great. They aren't cheap, but they are focusing on "farm to table" and that means quality food at commensurate (fair?) prices. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are $15, so if you want something lighter but still tasty you can go that route. Speaking of light, if you go into the bathroom on the right you will find a cold, dark, tiny room lit solely by a PINK bulb. It feels like being on a spaceship (as if I know what that is like), and after when you leave seeing the main light in the restaurant is very jarring. It was a fun experience but not inexpensive and not one that checks the boxes that I look for in a restaurant. Dark, loud, and cramped might be hip for the young or "save the earth" crowd, but I am too old to give up creature comforts for such things. The food, though expensive, was absolutely outstanding in every way though and I won't forget that steak for a long time.

The Roosevelt Room in Troy was a great experience from start to finish. I was honestly expecting a standalone building, but it is tucked into a strip mall near HVCC. That said, parking was easy and stress free, which is always a plus. This was our first visit as a party of four, and the service was superb. The attention to detail really stood out and was noticed immediately. Our waitress checked in at the right times, kept drinks filled, and made sure everything came out exactly as expected. Meals are made to order, so substitutions were no issue at all, and it was nice to see gluten free options available. When you walk in, you pass through a curtain and are immediately greeted by a coat attendant who takes your coats, which instantly gives the place an upscale feel. The ambiance is well done, with soft lighting and nice background music. It is on the smaller side and dimly lit, but that is clearly intentional. The menus actually light up, which was a unique and thoughtful touch that fits the atmosphere perfectly. We had reservations and were seated right away. It did not seem necessary on this particular evening, but I would definitely recommend them on a weekend given the size of the space. The food itself was excellent. Everything we ordered was very tasty, and the presentation across the board was impressive. Desserts are prepared by a pastry chef and were just as good as the rest of the meal. It is definitely on the pricey side, but that is to be expected for the level of service and atmosphere. This feels like a special occasion type of place, and in that context, it is worth every penny. We really enjoyed our night and would absolutely come back. There was also a sign mentioning live jazz on Fridays, which sounds like a great added touch. Overall, a very strong 5 stars.

The Dining room, buffet area, and the coffee and drink sections were very clean and tidy throughout our visit. We had a reservation at 6pm and felt invisible when we walked in, just to be seated in a table 5 feet away. Maybe they were understaffed, but friendly staff could have gone a long way here. We started with cocktails and they were all good. We didn't really have opportunities to order more, so I only tried one. We started with the Fried Burrata and Caesar salad. The fried buratta was delicious but not enough bread, or a spoon served with it so most of the sauce went to waste. We loved the pesto on the dish. The Caesar salad was extremely underdressed and under seasoned. None of us enjoyed it. We then ordered entrees, I got the flat iron and they ordered the carbonara and the burger. The flat iron was ordered rare, and served blue. The steak and sauce on it was cold. I didn't complain because I didn't want to try and call her over, they did not check on us after the food was delivered. The sauce on it was okay but I think it took away from the flavor of the meat, very strong cumin and chili flavor, a little gritty. The fries were good and the broccolini was mushy and overcooked. The carbonara was also a miss, it was overly peppered and unpleasant to eat. This dish was ultimately sent back and we explained it was overly peppered and inedible, and she ordered something else. My friend who ordered the burger really enjoyed it and it looked great. The server was not accommodating at all and barely checked on us. We sent food back and the server just threw it away without a thought in the world, and it remained on the bill. At this point we just wanted to pay and leave. Bad service can ruin a night, and it put a damper on our girls night out. My photos came out impeccable, unfortunately most of it looked better than it tasted. I could look over bad service if the food was great, but when neither is, it's a hard pass from me.

Lucas Confectionary has such a warm, inviting vibe all around. It may not be a one stop dinner spot, but it is an amazing pre-dinner stop for some drinks and appetite inducing snacks. With the extremely limited menu and offerings, you expect everything to be thoughtful and serve a purpose, and they deliver. For my drink, I ordered one of the red blends and it was very good for sipping along side a board of charcuterie and cheese My small group opted for the "pick three" option for a board. We ordered the manchego, smoked duck breast, and the pâté. It was a superb plate. The manchego was salty and funky, offered with dried apricots. The pate was rich and fatty, offered with whole grain mustard, pickled onions and cornichons. The smoked duck was offered with a blueberry-mustard compote. Also all accompanied with some nice fresh bread. Each flavor served a purposed and made for several tasty bites that piqued my interest. For a pre-dinner stop, I was very impressed. Also, sad to see this location absolutely empty on a Saturday evening. Lucas Confectioary is a perfect spot for an intimate date night, meeting friends, an after work drink, girls night, etc. Highly recommend a visit here!

I've been to Innovo Kitchen in Latham several times over the years and I've enjoyed it every time. They have a unique menu that changes periodically, but I always find something that catches my eye. The interior has an industrial feel which I like, with a lot of exposed brick. The tables are made from old bowling lane wood, which is a really cool touch. When you walk in there is also a bowling pin displayed in a glass case. I remember there being a bowling alley somewhere in that plaza when I was a kid, so it seems likely the building has some history tied to that. The tables are also nice and large, which makes the dining experience more comfortable. Tonight I ordered the Monte Cristo burger which is described as battered Buckley's Bread sourdough, a 6 oz special grind burger, Taylor pork roll, Swiss, and Twin Leaf Farms maple aioli. It was quite tasty and I really enjoyed the hint of maple syrup flavor on the burger. The crinkle cut fries that came with it were also very good. Another person in our party ordered the White Chicken Parmesan, described as a crisp chicken cutlet topped with ricotta and garlic spinach and fresh mozzarella, with garlic parmesan cream and lumache pasta. They said it was delicious. Someone else had the Crispy Skin Salmon and enjoyed that as well. A child at our table ordered macaroni with red sauce. The portion was surprisingly large and they liked it, which is impressive because they are particularly finicky. For dessert we ordered something we've had here several times before, the peanut butter mud pie. It's basically ice cream in pie form with an Oreo cookie crust and chocolate fudge. It's very tasty and also a generous portion. At the end of your meal they also offer everyone at the table a tasty piece of gourmet chocolate. One thing that really stood out tonight was the attentiveness of the management. Two different managers stopped by our table at different times to check and make sure everything was good. I recognized one of them because I've seen him there before and he always seems to make a point of checking in with guests. The other person had seated us so I initially thought she was the hostess, but after she stopped by during the meal I asked if she was a manager and she confirmed that she was. I mentioned that I was impressed that two different managers had checked on us, and that every time I've dined there a manager has stopped by to make sure everything was good. I thanked her and told her it was appreciated. During the summer and fall they also have a very nice patio area for outdoor dining. On cooler nights they have heaters and a fireplace which makes it a great place to sit outside. I will definitely return here again in the future. 5 stars
