Apparently this is the Jalepeno bagel i ordered this morning...
James M.

The bagels are great. Neat variety of flavors of both bagels and cream cheeses. To me, top 3 jalepeno cheddar bagel I've ever had, like anywhere. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small shop. There is seating, but it's really more of a to go spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I do like the workers and the service is mostly solid. Today i asked the man at the counter for a shamrock latte. Not usually my thing but it was up on their menu i guess from this past weekend. What size? Large please. What milk type? Whatever's not extra. But how many shots in the drink? 2. Okay, I'll have an extra shot please. Total pre-tax for the drink was $11.50. After i got the drink and looked at the receipt (small petty thing: don't list "printed" as a receipt option if you can only email or text), i asked the barista if an extra espresso shot was really 3.75. She said, "well, actually it's a double shot, so...". So there's actually 6 shots in my drink? And i guess that's how they justify $3.75 for an extra shot. I guess it's north Oak Park, and maybe the assumption is that people in that neighborhood wont blink when a drink costs that much. But from a place that I've visited for bagels numerous times, this coffee misdirect is inexcusable. I could see it from a big national chain. But not here. Oh, and i just opened the jalepeno cheddar bagel that i was really excited about and got...not that. So not a good day for Daly Bagel. The 4 stars are because most visits are not like this.

First trip to The Daly Bagel was delicious! I got the vampire bite on an everything bagel and it was packed with flavor. They offer a Daly commute special for a bagel with regular cream cheese and regular coffee for $5.25 till 10 am. I went on the weekend and the line was pretty long. It was delicious but just plan to have the time to wait in it!

Daly Bagel was just a one-minute walk from our Airbnb, and I'm so glad we decided to try it out! This place has a fantastic selection of bagels, from classic options to unique specialty creations. I went with "The Obvious" bagel, and it didn't disappoint. It came piled with lox, cream cheese, pickled red onions, fresh tomato, crunchy cucumbers, and a sprinkling of capers - everything you'd want in a perfect brunch bagel! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We took ours to the park, and it was the ideal way to enjoy a delicious, casual brunch in the sun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend for bagel lovers!

Coffee And Bagel With Tofutti

For sure this has to be the best place to get breakfast around here because it's always busy. It always has a line going out of it. The Daly Bagel is no doubt a popular place in the morning in Oak Park. Get a coffee and a bagel, and a few other things here. Lots of bagels for sure and lots of things to put on top of these. Came in the morning as usual because that's when it's open of course. It can seem like the whole town is here. This isn't a regular stop but I always make sure to come when in town. It's that good. The coffee is the other reason why people come here. It's $2 for a strong cup. The bagels are the main things though. It's about $2 for a bagel. Of course no one wants a plain bagel, so add in a couple more bucks to get a spread. Has lots of cream cheeses. Lots of herb flavored ones. Among the flavors is the Tofutti, a totally non dairy choice. The bagels are loaded with the spreads and toppings, so you get a lot. Good place to pop into in the morning except for the wait to get in. It's closed Mondays. The bagels go fast so come early to get the freshest, and top these with cream cheese options including ones for vegans.

I've always seen a line out of Daly Bagel and was curious what drew such a line to a tiny bagel shop...and today I finally learned why. WOW. The "obvious" bagel (lox bagel w/ red onions + capers + cream cheese + tomato + cucumbers) was a burst of flavors with each bite. I got a garlic bagel and added an egg. I would definitely order the obvious again but without the egg. The bagel is STUFFED and they're generous with the cream cheese, capers, and lox!! One thing is that the bagel doesn't come cut in half so I cut it at home. Next time, I'm going to make sure to ask for it to be cut - just makes it easier to eat! One minute the shop was empty and then the next, there were like 10 people lined up behind us. There's definitely a reason why! I will be back!!

Fresh bagels and a delicious white petal Arnold Palmer. Very slow with bagel making. You can watch them make the bagels.

The bagels are good and the coffee is ok but it's not worth standing in line for 15 minutes.

I also got a medium drip coffee, which I believe is their own blend of Dark Matter Coffee; Extra points there!

The bagels by themselves are a reason to go in…read more They're the perfect amount of a chewy crust to light and fluffy inside, with the toppings being to die for. I tried an onion, everything, and jalapeño cheddar and I loved all three. I highly recommend any of the breakfast bagel sandwiches. My boyfriend got the Avocado Turkey breakfast sandwich (not shown) and I got the Lox breakfast sandwich. The sandwiches are actually filled with food rather than just a few thin slices. My boyfriend and I split the liver plate and it was amazing. I find it hard to find great liver and this place has some! If you like liverwurst you will like this plate. We got it with an onion bagel. We got bagel chips while we waited and sipped on coffee and looking back I wish I grabbed a few extra bagels to go to try more of the variety they had since the assorted chips were so good. The staff was amazing; being warm and welcoming like we had been going there for years. The interior was beautiful and made you feel at home. This is one of those hidden gems anyone around the Chicago area should try, whether you live here or you're just stopping by.

The Onion Roll has been a "deli" business for a long time in the Oak Park area so I had to try it…read morewhile I was in town. I came in about 30 minutes before they closed so I had the restaurant almost to myself. I had their patty melt which is something I don't normally order. The patty melt was not overly greasy and passable. Their meat patty was surprisingly thinner than expected. Their fries were flavorless and needed seasoning or some special sauce alternative to ketchup. I thought prices were a bit on the high side for what was served. Overall, I am guessing that their breakfast and deli counter may be more popular than their lunches. My experience at Onion Roll, though, was nothing extraordinary or special but considered a local convenience.

We were greeted warmly by the people working here as soon as we stepped in…read more The menu consists of various coffee drinks, bagel or croissant sandwiches, and also crepes. There were not a lot of non-dairy options on here, so I had to get creative. I ordered the Smoked Salmon sandwich on a bagel. There were only three bagel options: Plain, Everything, and I forgot the last one! Because I had to get it without cream cheese, I got it with lettuce and onion added, which was an extra $0.55. When my order came out, it was a really sad sandwich. There was only a thin slice of smoked salmon and a sparse amount of sun-dried tomatoes. I was hoping for fresh tomatoes, but the menu didn't specify what kind of tomatoes. It would have been nice to also get red onions for a sandwich like this, but instead, I got white onions. My husband enjoyed the crepe he got, but I agree with the other review, it was soaked in Nutella and other various sauces. It was too sweet. There seemed to be enough employees around where they could wipe off the tables as well. We sat by the counter by the window and no one had come around to clean it off, so there were crumbs everywhere.

Service was good, very friendly and checked in on me to make sure I liked my food. The crepe I…read moreasked for was very sweet and I was able to get my crepe craving satisfied. It's very sweet and light.
