My 4-year-old daughter attended tap and ballet classes at this studio for about five months, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. During this time, she had two different teachers. During her first class my daughter wasn't given any clear instructions and had to simply follow and mimic what the other girls were doing. I remember the teacher didn't even ask for her name during that first class. It was clear that the first teacher lacked enthusiasm and leadership.... Since I had paid in advance for the classes through the Ontario Community Center, I hoped things would improve, but they didn't. Every week, it was the same routine, there was no progression or effort to teach the girls anything new and my daughter quickly lost interest. I'm not sure if the class was either too large or the teacher didn't have enough time to properly focus on each child. What I noticed every time was that if someone didn't get the dance moves right, there was very little attempt to correct them or provide individual guidance. This lack of attention and care was a bit frustrating to say the least. The second teacher, who took over after a few months, was slightly more mature and had better control of the class. However, the approach was the same, repetitive routines with no real engagement or focus on the students' development. While she managed the class a bit better, it still wasn't enough to keep me bringing my child. What my daughter really enjoyed was the show-and-tell time and the little stamp she received at the end of each class. read more

Update since the Dance Shop replied... Evidence? What evidence would you be looking for? Bruises or something? Come on! It was evident when I spoke with the lady at the counter and my daughter's teacher who apologized profusely about what happened. Or when the owner took me into her office to apologize too but then said how the other little girl and her sister takes a lot of classes there so you guys would do the best you could? All you guys did was make it even more awkward the last couple classes by the other little girl being super rude to my daughter telling her how her mom said not to talk to her or at the show and tell at the end of class the other little girl yelled at my daughter not to touch her stuff. This could have been handled so much better but I guess so my daughter only took 2 classes a week there it wasn't worth it to you guys. read more

We've taken classes here for the past two years, one on the competition team. We love it! My daughter has built life long friendships and grown so much as a dancer. She is confident and fearless and it is all from her experiences dancing at the shop and on stage. I take the barre class and have never felt better, I get to take my daughter to class and have some time to myself. read more

My 4 year old has been attending hip hip classes twice a week at the Dance Shop since November and she loves everything about her classes, instructor Miss Mel and classmates. There's so much diversity amongst students and everyone gets along great! It's a positive happy environment! There's plenty of space in classes for distancing and everything is nice and clean. So happy that this place is here. Want to say we have been here six months. My six year old daughter enjoys her ballet and gymnastics classes and she just started a "ninja" class with her eight year old brother and they had a blast! In a couple of years my wife would like to enroll my daughter in the hip hop class. The classes are a great way to engage our little one socially and physically instead of her going to her fallback of screen time. I decided to pull my child out of this studio. Not because she didn't enjoy going there, or because the instructors were not nice. But, because there is a SERIOUS lack of diversity at this studio (read in between the lines). It's not the studio's fault at all, of course. I believe it is just the Ontario population...not sure. My child told me one day, that no one looks like her in her class and the girls don't talk/play with her. That made me sad to hear this. She now attends a Dance Studio in Rancho where that City leans more to a diverse population. She is so much happier now and has 3-4 different types of diverse little girls she sees. But more importantly, there are other kids that finally "look like her"! ;-D read more

My daughter loves joining the 4 year old ballet and tap combo class. The lady at the front desk is always helpful and has amazing patients with people and kids. They even offer rental shoes if you forget. It's just nice to see my daughter having fun in a clean and safe environment. Only setback is their limited seating for parents so get their early if you want to sit down. Another setback is parents bring more kids (siblings) and they climb over you while you are waiting. read more

I've been to a few dance shops over the years for my two little ones and I find that I like this one the most. This is a family owned business. The two daughters bought the business recently from their mom and completely renovated it. It looks really nice inside. The family is very nice. They will give you a sibling discount. My kids attend dance class once a week and if you miss a class you can take a make up class of your choice. I recommend Kaylin for the young children as she is one of the most patient dance instructors I have ever witnessed. My children love her and she knows how to connect with the kids. If you aren't sure about dance for your kids, I recommend you start them off through the city of Ontario's Recreation Department, which is an inexpensive way to start. Unfortunately, the recreation department is closed until further notice. In case you are concerned about cleanliness, they spray the dance room between sessions and the kids are required to wash hands before and after sessions. Masks are optional. I have been bringing my daughter here since 2016. She started in the Creative Movement class, and is currently taking Hip Hop & Tap. All the teachers are great. Really great place for the kids to learn dance techniques and make friends. She loves coming here, very family oriented. read more

Firstly, let me begin by saying I had a great experience a year ago when I first had my daughter in creative movement. I don't remember the teachers name but she was so sweet and energetic. My daughter was 2 at the time. Now she's 3 and we did the free day class so she can try out another dance class to possibly continue here. I wanted to give it a great review because I had such a great experience last time. But this time it was different. I don't usually like leaving bad reviews but I don't want another parent and most importantly another child go through this. She seemed nice during the beginning of class while stretching and such but as the class progressed the instructor didn't seem patient with the kids and got flustered when they would do things wrong. It was my daughters first time so she was not going to do things correctly the first time. She used a very strong voice and it intimidated my daughter. It was a lot of "no, you're doing wrong. No no, look at me when I'm talking to you. You are not listening!". My daughter had fun because it was her first class but I will not be taking her back again. They're young so they get easily distracted but the lack of patience and most importantly the way the kids are spoken to is disappointing. I will not let her be intimidated when it should be a fun thing to do. Front desk is also so crowded. The owner seemed nice but I didn't like watching my daughter's body language when she was being scolded by the instructor. I also had another family member take their child a month before and they thought the same. We don't recommend this place. read more

In all honesty just don't go here. It's really bad and there's a lot of drama and issues. The owner talks about other parents kids and teachers behind their back. I noticed that there used to be a lot of people on the team but majority of them left for good. This one child keeps taking my child's stuff and does not play gently and distracts my kid from going in class and I never see her go into any class of her own. There are kids running around and screaming. They leave the front desk all the time without another worker watching it. They call like a crazy bill collector when you don't pay right away. There are kids in the office that is supposed to be for staff. They do not enforce their rules. I'm so glad that I took my daughter to another studio a couple weeks ago and she has progressed so much more at the other studio. read more

TDS is a great dance studio that makes even the newest dancer feel at home. They are great with the kids and always offer one free class to try out to see if your child will enjoy it. They have their own inventory at a low cost which helps when trying to find the right accessories for your child. The instructors are great and our family will continue to go there. read more

This place is the most unorganized place that I have ever seen. There are kids running in and out of what says staff on the door and there is no adults in there, only kids. The front desk is left unoccupied at times and you end up waiting a long time for someone to come back to the front. There is a light out so it is dark and It has been over a week and still has not been fixed. I have noticed a decline in kids as it is not as busy as I used to see it. My daughter started here when she was 4 and initially we loved it. She took a year off and we tried going back today and I am beyond disappointed. When I tried to introduce myself to what would've been my daughters new dance instructor she barely shook my hand as if she didn't want to. She then proceeded to say she can join the class but she can't participate in the recital(which is over a month away) as it's too late to order costumes (mind you my daughter went here for 2 years and I know this isn't true). I advise her the lady at the front desk said we do still have time and she says no it's too late to order just one costume. I advise we will just leave because it makes no sense for her to learn the routine and not be able to be apart of the recital like everyone else. So I walk to the front desk and explain what was told to me and suddenly the instructor appears out of nowhere trying to validate her point by saying in a suggestive way "isn't it too late to order costumes". The woman at the front desk advises that it isn't too late and she can order one today. The instructor then says oh ok well if she can still order one than I guess it's ok... to me it seemed like she's didn't really care to have a little black child be apart of her recital group as she seemed very adamant about my daughter not being able to be apart of the recital. Before we leave I'm sure she can tell how frustrated I am and she tried to stop us from leaving stating she didn't mean anything by telling us she couldn't be apart of the recital and would love for her to be in the class smh. So now I feel because you were caught up you tried to clean it up. Sorry I won't allow my child to be subjected to any form of mistreatment. We'll take our talents where we are accepted and comfortable. read more
