I had been to the previous version and I could never get clear answers about bringing my (then younger) 12+ year old pug dog there without some big complicated booking. This time I booked on my app. and it was many little forms but I got in. My dog needed a bath, Nails and express and they offered things like teeth and ear cleaning too, so I was like, Sure, Awesome!" I got another text before the appointment about signing off on Mat Hair removal which my dog doesn't have but was nervous it would become an appointment killer. All was fine. * Sounds like they are working out how to have you sign off or not have to when~you have a short haired dog. Got there, everything was smooth and the place was actually clean and not smelly as the previous spot was, I assume that can happen when you are busy. The staff were SO NICE!! Piper and Zenise made me immediately comfortable with their smiles and friendly banter, none of which happened at the previous iteration, (though I knew so many people who went there). I felt very comfortable and my dog came back clean and mainly her toenails were impeccable! (She's older~I feel like they are growing faster than I can stay on top of) Even her pads were softened! (Amazing extra bonus). This groomer was awesome, I can't recall his name. Until recently this dog grooming place had no groomer and no online reservations, which I think technically made it a store you could call to talk about dogs and nothing more. They had a very noisy re-opening party recently, so I looked online and was pleased to find they now have both a groomer and online reservations! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ash and the other gentleman were very nice and easy to deal with, and the interior space is nice and professional.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I explicitly confirmed the style I wanted (a puppy cut) and came back to discover that our dog had been given only a slightly uneven trim. I said "this isn't the style I asked for", and Ash said: "I didn't want to go too short." Call me old fashioned, but I think it's probably better to say up front that you won't adhere to a request -- rather than agreeing to it, charging $150, and then saying you didn't want to do it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Again they're very nice people, but I live 700 feet away from this place and will not be going back. While my dog has never been a big fan of grooming, she came home calm and non-stressed--which says a lot about how gentle and caring the team must be. Worst grooming ever! Butched my beautiful ome year old Golden Doodle. Groomer said my dog needed extra time to be dematted. When I picked her up, she was shaved down to 1/4 inch on her legs and body. She looked like a drowned rat. Changed me extra for "dematting" which I did not see since she was totaly shaved. This was not groomiong , it was incompetent animal cruelty. I would post a picture if I were not so embarrased to show her. Please avoid this place. Would give zero stars if I could. read more

My wife took our little terrier in for a grooming, and the doggo came out looking fabulous! The groomer was Ash, and he absolutely followed what we asked for. I didn't know that my dog could look this pretty. The whole team there was very kind and professional. Please note that we have tried three other groomers in Mill Valley. One we really loved, but they're impossible to get into. The second one we saw a dog escape from and run into the streets so they were knocked off our list. DDS uses a gate across the grooming area so that the dogs can run around and see the world without being stuffed behind a big thick door like it used to be when it was a different business. My dog came out very happy tail wagging 90 miles an hour. So my next step is bringing our other dog in! We are so happy to have this business in our little town Please patronize them! read more

The staff and skill at Dapper Dog are top notch. We brought in our very anxious Aussie for a full groom. Unfortunately the first time he was too nervous for Ash and the team to proceed, instead of stressing our guy out more, they suggested we come back for anther try later in the week. With the help of a bit of anti-anxiety meds for our pup and Ash's skill he came out with a fresh and clean new 'do and the best de-shed we've ever had. Our golden retriever Rambo is almost 3 and has been getting groomed since he was 6 months old. Unfortunately had a bad experience with a previous mobile groomer. We thought we'd try a new spot and the team at Dapper Dog was amazing. They were very patient and allowed Rambo to get to know them before taking him back for his bath and haircut. We received text updates during the services as well which made us feel good about having him groomed there. When we picked him up he was so nice a clean and his haircut looked great! Ash did such a wonderful job tending to my dirty and matted rescue dog. our dog (cav King Charle) was dropped off with detailed instructions. do not cut slippers, trim nails, shorten ears, puppy cut. zero of these items were done as asked and our dog is hurt on the nails from the experience. they said better for the dog to not groom her the way we asked. we will never go back and the owner should really look be sure the staff is competent. i have never take the time to write a bad review until now. read more

This place is SO CUTE and the staff is incredibly friendly. The owner, Lia greeted us warmly with a smile, she's so nice and remembered all of the details about my dogs' needs. My chihuahua is a little skittish but they handled him with care and made him feel very comfortable.
