Because the food was so good at dinner, we decided to have a party on the back patio. They decorated the entire patio, it looked amazing! I had my bridal shower in the gardens this past weekend and could not have asked for a better place to celebrate..... from the moment we got there to set up, the staff was attentive and kind and didn't let us lift a finger- they unloaded the cars, set up furniture and decor and made sure everything was exactly as I wanted it to be. The food was delicious and there was so much of it, the mimosas were flowing all day, and they even packaged all the leftovers for everyone to take home. My guests haven't stopped raving about the day and my fiancé and I can't wait to go back for dinner one night soon! read more

We picked the DaVinci Room for our Easter brunch, and it was really great. They had pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, home fries & sausage on one table and a whole bunch of Italian dishes on the other. I loved the salmon in pesto sauce & the tilapia oreganata. They had lots of choices including eggplant rollatini, steak pizzaiola, penne vodka, chicken parm, sausage & peppers, etc. Way too much, haha. Desserts included cannoli, chocolate mousse, cookies, brownies, fresh fruit and lots of Easter candy. Brunch included a mimosa or a bellini. My 12 year old substituted a Shirley Temple for the booze. The room is lovely. My only minor quibble is that we were seated near the door & I froze when people entered or exited. Great place, I can definitely see that parties there would be nice. read more

My husband and I came here for Hudson restaurant week, and I'm glad we gave this place a try. It was perfect for date night. Nicely decorated for an intimate dining experience. Let's start of by saying that they probably offer the BEST deal this go-around. For just $25, you can get a complimentary basket of bread, a glass of their house wine, an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. You'll definitely leave this place stuffed. They also offer a great variety of options for each category. - There were at least 6-7 available house wines to choose from. My husband opted for the Merlot, while I chose the Moscato. - The appetizers you can pick from are: Mozzarella en Carroza, Fried, Calamari, Shrimp Cocktail, Baked Clams, Eggplant Rollatini, Zuppa di Mussels, Mozzarella & Tomato Salad, or the Mixed Green Salad. My husband chose the calamari and I picked the eggplant rollatini. The calamari app was average, and we squeezed a lot of lemon to get more flavor. The marinara sauce they served complimented it well. The eggplant was a much better choice. It came with 2 hearty portions. It was delicious, and I was full before I even got my meal. - For the entrees, you can choose: Char Grilled NY Strip Steak, Chicken Parmesan, Sausage Fusilli & Broccoli Rabe, House-Made Gnocchi Bolognese, Pork Chop Valdastino, Braised Lamb Shank, Basil Pesto Crusted Salmon, or Lobster Ravioli w/Shrimp alla Vodka. The portions are HUGE! My husband chose the steak and I picked the lobster ravioli. The steak was delicious, though a bit chewy. It was paired with mashed potatoes, spinach, and fried/caramelized onions. My lobster ravioli and shrimp was amazing. It was a bit rich, but I didn't mind it at all. I had leftovers for lunch the next day. - Finally, you have 3 desserts to choose from: Italian cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and a cannoli. I chose the mousse and my husband got the cannoli. Neither were anything to write home about, but they were a nice finish to a great meal. I believe they offer tea, coffee, or cappuccinos as well. Overall, this was a great addition to the restaurant week lineup. The only con is their website doesn't seem to have the updated prices for the restaurant side. I'll consider dining here (even though it's a pretty far drive from home) even without the deal. --------------- QUICK TIPS: - Go during Hudson RW! Good until 02/02! My mother and I came here hoping to book my baby shower here. The manager, a blond heavy set woman insisted we stand right by the door inside the Mona Lisa pizza shop (which is next door and they also own) instead of sitting down to discuss the venue and prices. We were not even offered a tour of the da vinci room and she said she didn't want us to sit until she made sure the date was available, and even after it was, we were still not offered a seat and we had to instead stand by the door where people were walking in and out and it was freezing. My back was killing me since I am quite pregnant and I found her to be so rude, I handed her back her overpriced menu and my mother and I walked out. I will never patronage them after this experience and I am a Bayonne resident. Luckily my mother and I booked the ultra classy da noi. read more

Excellent restaurant. Tradition dishes done very well. A romantic atmosphere with candles and table linen. Also, the vaulted brick ceiling feels like like you're dining in a large wine cellar. Waiters are professional, well trained and friendly. The environment is conducive to conversation, as you don't have to yell across the table. read more

Fantastic...The best Italian restaurant in Bayonne New Jersey! My Wife and I had my Mothers 85th birthday party at The Davinci Room located at 165 Broadway in Bayonne NJ. Wonderful menu combining traditional offerings with creative new ideas. The service was simply outstanding without pretense and the wine list and menu were right on point. The Lobster carbonara and Pesto fettuccine were to die for and the Cannolis are served upon your arrival at the Pearly Gate. Simply Fantastic! read more

Went during restaurant week - got mussels, this delicious lamb with spinach and potatoes, and cheesecake for dessert. Along with a glass of Cabernet (all for $25!) The place was dead, and the waitress was incredibly spacey and hands off for being 1 of 2 tables. They didn't have the Italian cheesecake they advertised which was weird given it was on their pris fix menu, and it was the first night and there were only 2 tables. OVERRATED! Came here on a night where they were hosting some sort of office party. There wasn't a separate room for them, they just had a corner to themselves. Suffice it to say, they must have been regulars because they were drunk, loud, and obnoxious. It got to the point other diners were staring daggers at these guys, but management did nothing about it after a few complaints. Whoever they were hosting were better off at a sports bar than an Italian restaurant. As for the food, I've definitely had better. The pizza crust isn't strong enough to handle the toppings so everything more or less sagged on to the plate if you tried lifting a slice up. Not worth a drive to Bayonne, but if you're a local, by all means, knock yourself out. read more

Not just the main course! The soup was amazing, The cod fish- potato ball in champagne vinaigrette amuse-gueule was a mouthful that left you wanting more. Perhaps if enought people ask for it, they will offer it as an appetizer! The mussels in white sauce were unlike any I have had. Zuppa di Cozze can be very boring in Hudson County with poor quality muscles and an overpowering marinara. Theirs was a delight for the senses! Even the trio of flavored butters were special morsels! Don't forget to ask for the side dish of sauteed wild mushrooms.The wait staff, with little exception, were knowledgable about all the menu's offerings, and offered personal commentaries on the various choices. read more

The place was tastfully decorated the Menu offers something for everyone I had a sausage in a puff pastry appetizer very tasty,for the entree I ordered a Shrimp Dish with Artichoke Hearts over Pasta in a Garlic and Oil Sauce well seasoned and beautifully presented. I dined there on Saturday night. The decor was nicely done, very tasteful. I was not overly impressed with their menu. I feel there should be more choices. I ordered the Filet Mignon and it was very good, however, my friend ordered the pasta and it was just plain awful. The wait staff needs improvement. Very slow and clumsy. Twice the waiter re-filled my water glass OVER my meal. Better training is definately needed. All in all it was "OK." I would not rush out to eat there again but I may give it another try. I do want to add one more thing. Although I hope that the business does well, I think it may be a little too upscale in this economy. Not knocking Bayonne as I live there but it is a little on the expensive side and I don't think too many people are willing to spend more than they can. read more

The food here is great. There is an array of choices to pick from pasta, meats, and seafood dishes. The penne vodka, lasagna, chicken Alfredo, and desserts are delicious. The staff is very nice and professional. The place is very clean and the bathrooms are very well kept. The décor is very beautiful and can be considered romantic. The only reason I did not give this place 5 STARS is because they are often closed on weekends as the restaurant caters events. read more

We went here on a recommendation from a friend. The place has an attractive interior, nice size, tall ceilings. The prices are reasonable, the menu has regular staple Italian Italian dishes. went to davici room for restaurant week. Very nice restaurant, more of a intimate setting which my wife and I loved. however, the service was not 100 percent. I felt like they servers were missing personal touch. our server did not explain in detail how the plates were served. also, literally took us 30 min just to receive our appetizer and maybe 45 min for entrée. I understand maybe if they were busy, but that was not the case. I like that they did offer me a complimentary beer for the wait, but I was starving and a beer wasn't to my satisfaction. The portions were a good amount and the food was great. I know everything business and person has a off day, so I will try again. everything was lovely: except the wait time and lack of personal interaction from the server to us. by the way 25 dollar pre fixed dinner is a GREAT deal. read more

I really like the pizza from Mona Lisa and I was here a few years ago when it first opened with a couple of friends and I had fond memories but this visit was a little disappointing. We'd went there the Friday before Mother's Day with my 8 month old son and 5 other people and we had reservations. When we got there a buffet was being set up so we thought why not just go that route. The food was ice cold by the time we ate (about 20m after the buffet was set up). We would up letting the staff know and the owner came over to the table to apologize and offered us an appetizer for free. She really did try to be accommodating but the impression was already made since none of my dinner guests had ever dined there. We all decided to order off of the menu since the buffet bombed. I got the penne vodka because I really don't have nearly enough good, authentic Italian food back in the ABQ. My dish was nothing special and a little dry. I really enjoy their pizza but this restaurant experience wasn't memorable in any positive way. read more

My husband and I ended up here eating on a Friday night. The place was inviting, the decor was tasteful. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. He told us that it is connected to Mona Lisa Pizzeria but that the items are pretty much the same, since it is the same kitchen. We ordered a pitcher of white wine sangria or as we call it Clerico. We had the calamari as an appetizer and they were great. We both had pasta entrees and they were really good. I had the gnocchi and loved it. The portions are big and for the huge meal we had the prices were more than reasonable. We will probably be back after exploring the neighborhood a little bit more. read more

I just returned from a lovely dinner with my family for my birthday and I must say it was wonderful! The food was delicious, the service was very good and the atmosphere was conducive to conversation. We were not rushed at all, our waiter was attentive, but not annoying. I had the chorizo encrusted pork chop...it was moist, tender and extremely flavorful. My daughters had the char broiled steak and lamb duo...sensational! The other dishes were equally delicious. In addition, the chef made a special birthday cake for me per my daughters request. All in all it was a wonderful evening. Pizza SUCKS now (always delivered cold and burnt), LARGE antipasta consists of 3 pieces of ham, 2 pieces of salami, and 1/2 piece of cheese slapped on top of lettjuce (not even rolled like it should be).
