Came back here with a larger group and they were able to accommodate our large group! Makayla rocks and was our server! It was so easy to order in advance for the table (believe me, they were so full after that no one ordered anything else!). A perfect date spot or brunch with friends! We were seated next to floor to ceiling windows, so it was nice to people watch in the city. Our server was kind and even the general manager came to check in on us! They were quite busy on a Saturday around 1pm. I got the chicken and waffles. While pricey at $25, they were delicious!! The chicken was juicy with a tiny layer of fat attached to the skin and breading, which made it very flavorful and tender. The waffles were thin and paired nicely with the hot honey. Visited with the family for brunch on a Saturday in March 2026. Service was great, lively atmosphere, and cocktails were tasty. The slider side car was delicious. However, the entrees were only ok at best. We had several things. The carnitas chilaquiles were bland, had very little salsa, and contained a napkin+ of grease. The fried perch Benedict looked good, but the sauce was tasteless and, while cooked perfectly, the fish wasn't seasoned properly. The waffle in the chicken & waffle was doughy, which was unfortunate because the rest of the dish was very tasty. In the end, the price was too high for the poor quality. read more

Fluffy, but warm with some of the best butter I've ever tasted. Mom thought the butter was "meh" but different strokes for different folks. The combination of greens, apple slices, delicious bacon, dried cranberries & candied pecans were extremely agreeable to me. For libations - Mom had them make a standard Whiskey Sour which was good. The Dearborn is a beautiful swanky tavern near the theater district. My family and I went after seeing a show and this wasn't my first time there. This current time they had different items in which we tried and our waiter was great, very attentive. My only issue came when we ordered the burata cheese it wasn't warm and we did an extra servings of the sourdough bread because it was 3 of us and the bread that came only was 2 slices, the 2 additional were $22. Whoa! $22 for 2 slices of toast. That could have been another appetizer for us. I wish Cooper our waiter had informed us prior to bringing it. We didn't know and that sticker shock in this economy should be said. I would still support this place but as a person who works the industry myself, I $22 for basically sourdough toast that just felt like this was price gouging. read more

After seeing reviews we decided to give this place a try for dinner. To start there is no parking since in downtown so will most likely need to find garage parking or walk there from hotel. It is also very busy but we were still seated right away. The staff was pleasant enough but to be honest at times both me and wife felt like we were forgotten about. I got the bavette steak with mashed potatoes and wife got the fish and chips. We also ordered the rolls. I was a little irritated that the rolls were not free like a lot of places. They were however really good. I still believe though it should not be an appetizer but a free pre meal snack. The wife said her fish was good. Since they say it beat Bobby flay she thinks she was expecting more. I tried it and while it was good I wouldn't order it again. My bavette steak was also good. Not great but good. The sauce is like a teriyaki sauce of some kind and that's just not really my thing. The potato's were good. I ended the meal with their version of lava cake with chocolate ice cream on top. It was alright. I didn't finish it but I did eat about half. The wife had two bites. The star was definitely the old fashioned. One of the best I've had. All in all was let down by the meal. I expected a little more after reviews and for the price. If I went back it would probably just be for drinks and maybe an appetizer. We were tired after a long day walking museums and this was close to our hotel. What a delightful meal! We started with the Parker House rolls. Fresh, warm, with a wonderful seasoned butter. My wife had the day's special Fillet Mingon, and I ordered the Fish & Chips and we split them. The house made steak sauce was very tasty (we aren't steak sauce people) and the veggies were nicely charred and seasoned. The fish had some of the most delicate crust. Perfectly done. After an evening of being out and about, I decided to stay local and eat there. That was a huge mistake. The food was fine, however the service was very poor.The staff do not want to serve anyone with dietary restrictions. The servers and management team have huge problems with any form of questions asked pertaining to the food. I have never seen such strange behavior from a manager. I was in disbelief. I could tell that she does this on the regular to customers. The other front desk staff and management team are not any different. I am unsure as to what sort of treatment they are encouraging their staff to give during their staff meetings. They do not want anyone to question the meal that they are paying for and consuming. The managers constantly were inserting themselves where they were not needed. Their goal is to want to make any customer that they do not believe fits the ambiance they are hoping to have want to leave. Managers are very confrontational with guests. Apparently these managers have been behaving this way for years without repercussions for their treatment even after many people have complained. The Dearborn is not looking for recurring customers. They instill in their employees to weed out anyone who does not fit their exclusive standards. I should have looked more closely at their website as well because they only show those who fit their vision,which does not look like anyone in the title I gave this review. It is also unaccessible for those with physical needs, those with customary diets, and those who want a peaceful atmosphere while paying to dine out. Avoid by all means. read more

The Dearborn was one of the places I picked for us to have lunch while on our staycation. So glad I did because this was a wonderful lunch with wonderful service. We were promptly seated by our hostess and not long afterwards, our server came over to great us. She was very sweet and so pleasant, and just warm in personality. We had a reservation, which I am glad we did as the place filled up pretty quick after we got seated. Because we had a later dinner planned, we started with the Ceviche: cod, salmon, shrimp, fennel, orange, tomato, cilantro, coriander-lime dressing, crispy tortilla and the Parker House Rolls....most excellent starters. Those rolls with that duck fat butter was yum yum yum. The ceviche was nice and fresh, with that citrus twang I love. To wash it down, we opted for the 1818 Billecart-Salmon Mareuil-Sur-ay. Sometimes you want a true champagne instead of bubbles during day drinking. For our entrees, I got the Fish & Chips (as seen on Beat Bobby Flay): tempura-battered Icelandic cod, rainbow slaw, remoulade, charred lemon, fries, malt vinegar. I will not lie, I am not a fan of Bobby Flay or fish per se, but seeing this was a dish that beat him, I wanted to try it. I will have to say that I can see why it won. The tempura batter was perfect as it didn't mask the flavor of the fish or make it a heavy dish. The piece of fish was a nice side and was so flaky. The malted vinegar is a must for me on the occasion I do fish & chips and The Dearborn did not disappoint. The cole slaw was interesting, but good. It was more tangy than sweet and complemented the fish. Normally I don't care for this style of cole slaw, but this was fresh and tasty. The Doctor got the Spicy Chicken & Mushroom Soup: spicy chicken broth, sesame, napa cabbage, four star mushroom medley, pulled chicken, nueske's bacon, scallio. He said it did have some heat. Because we ordered the rolls with the ceviche, we did not eat the tortilla chips that came with it. Good thing we didn't because the The Doctor ended up putting them in his soup. He really enjoyed the soups and the chips, cleaning his bowl. We didn't do dessert, but that can be explored another time as I am sure we will be back here to try other items on the menu. It's really nice inside I do appreciate the low lighting but it's where you can still see unlike at Cheesecake where it's really dark. Drinks: Guinness 10/10, POMEGRANATE-ANISE SPRITZ 10/10 Food: 8oz Filet Mignon 7/10, the filet itself could use some work. There wasn't much of a outstanding flavor and if I'm paying for that cut I'd prefer a bit more flavor. The mash was just okay. Fish and Chips 10/10 they were definitely winning I could see why. My daughter got the fish & chips that beat Bobby Flay and I ordered the Midwest is Best Salad with a side of chicken. My daughter made short work of the fish & chips. I enjoyed the salad - needed something light and it fit the bill - but it wasn't anything remarkable. The side of chicken was dry as the desert and didn't have much flavor. I was so hungry that I didn't want to fuss so I ate it, but I had to take a lot of sips of my beverage in between. We ended our meal with the profiteroles & pistachio. The choux pastry had a good texture and gelato was good, but the dark chocolate sauce was lackluster. Would I order it again? Yes because profiteroles, but I would adjust my expectations on the chocolate part. Our waiter was competent, efficient, and friendly, but not chit chatty which I appreciated. I ordered the fish and chips on recommendation. They gave me two huge pieces of fish and fries. They said that they're are the fish and chips one awards.The fish was pretty tasty. Along with adding the malt vinegar to the fries was great. The malt vinegar was not necessary. But where I'm from in PA that is how we do it. I was only able to eat 1 piece of fish and some of the fries. The manager of the restaurant came out and checked to make sure all was going well, which was definitely a nice plus.
