Excellent happy hour ( forgot the exact time but ends at 5 ) well priced yummy drinks and appetizers- we got the whole assortment of : seasoned fries, hummus/ veggie platter, bowl of clams, fried calamari, coconut shrimp. My well drink vodka soda was great. Cons include distance walking for those who may have disabilities... and it can get windy on the exposed deck - we lucked out on a warm seasonable day though- all in all a great experience. read more

Not recommended. First of all, we were invited to lunch at this place, so it wasn't our idea, but we don't blame the person who invited us. She didn't know any better. We arrived at the parking lot, and almost needed to send out a search party to find the restaurant, which was about half a mile away down a steep ramp and across a long, dilapidated looking dock. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We joined our party and had to wait for the fighter planes overhead to pass so we could hear each other.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Two geese, one with a broken wing, floated around listlessly in the background.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress looked a lot like Snookie from Jersey Shore. She was taller and probably nicer, but she wasn't around long enough for us to find out. Service was limited to taking our order, bringing it and bringing the check. She didn't check to see if everything was OK because she probably knew...it wasn't. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were birds everywhere, landing on every table after parties left, grabbing as much leftover food as they could, and after our food arrived I felt sorry for those birds. They deserved better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Two ladies with a dog were seated behind us. The dog had its nose up my wife's butt the whole time, and I'm pretty there was a wet spot on her skirt when we left. Awkward.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a cup of clam chowder and the salmon teriyaki tacos. The tacos came out first. Chowder came out five minutes later and was inedible, over seasoned, cooked to death, and at one point I discovered a limp piece of brownish celery in it. I pushed it aside and was embarrassed when my wife wanted to taste it. The tacos were fishy, so fishy the smell followed us all the way home to Cedar Mill. We stopped by our local market and I picked up a bottle of Dr. Bronner's peppermint castille oil soap to scrub the stench off my body, and showered immediately when I got home. I wiped down everything I'd touched with lemon Chlorox wipes, but it was hard to shake that smell. It was like that episode of Seinfeld when he couldn't get the foul smell out of his car. The server happened to mention the restaurant was seasonal, and it was about to close for the winter. We left thinking they probably shouldn't reopen. The only thing worse than their seafood was the tuna melt we ordered years ago at Beulahland, another horrific restaurant experience. And just like Beulahland, we will never return to this place. If you're ever in that neck of the woods and want a decent meal, try Salty's. read more

We were really looking forward to celebrating a special evening with our grandkids (ages 12, 10, and 6), especially after they had helped rescue a neighbor's dog from the river earlier in the day. They chose The Deck for dinner--a place they were excited about. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. We were told there would be a 30-minute wait for a table for six, but after an hour and 20 minutes, we still weren't seated. During that time, we watched multiple groups of five who arrived after us get seated, and eventually, a large party of about 30 people was brought in--all without any communication from staff about delays or changes in expectations. Our group--three kids and three adults--felt completely overlooked. No one informed us that a large party would be prioritized, or that our wait time would be significantly extended. After such a long wait with no updates or consideration, we decided to leave. This was meant to be a celebration, and we left feeling frustrated and let down. Wow the deck has been in decli e the last few seasons. This season not worth the venture. Everything was saturated in grease. Grease literally poured out of the chicken quesadia. Gross..the service is fair, the views have lost luster with the construction barges tied up right next to it. Honestly try Island Cafe or Puffin Cafe. read more

The only reason I came to this place is because it was a part of my jet boat tour. This place wasn't bad but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here either. This restaurant is floating on the water and has limited options. We arrived by jet boat so I didn't even see the parking lot. They have one bathroom stall attached to the venue but you can walk to another building that has two additional stalls. I got the chicken sandwich here. Decent. Didn't leave an impression. The location of this restaurant is certainly very unique... Literally on a Deck and you can see the ocean under your table and chair! There seemed to be a gentle swaying where we were sitting! Arrived during a busy Sunday evening! The wait was around 10 mins The hostess and the waiter were very friendly and accommodating. The Fish & Chips were excellent. The fish used was Halibut where you never go wrong! It was not greasy which was surprising. The fries were okay not the best but will do, not complaining. Anyways hope to be back again! read more

Onion rings - meh. They were edible. They look like chips or petals FYI Ahi sandwich - fairly non descript. A bit tough. Not much flavor. Wouldn't order again. Bloody Mary - basic mix but not much garnish or stir stick. If you're going to serve this drink, it's about the sides. It just came with a lemon/lime slide and an olive. Boo. (And they don't serve ANY virgin drinks) Halibut bites (appetizer) - hard. Edible but only order if you're a fan of Gorton's freezer fish. Coconut prawns - these were actually good!! They give you a LOT (I think 8?) and the coconut and cocktail sauces are flavorful. I would order this again. Fries were too greasy (not a fan of this type of batter either). Clam chowder - it was decent. A bit too much on the watery side but had good flavor. I should have ordered just a cup though along with the prawns since the bowl is so big. Overall this place was OK. Low key vibe. Staff was friendly enough. View was nice on the back patio where we sat. But I still like Paradise on the other side better. Food was gross a taco is more like a salad that birds eat. Obviously they have never eaten real authentic Mexican food. The service was horrible had better service at McDonald's than this place. If you're a hipster then you will fit right in. I got ignored the whole time I was there should have asked for a refund. Like: New Management, (? who knows), because when we went there, it was for sure a 4-stars! I'd give them 5 stars, if it was a 5 star environment (it can easily have been, the location alone gives that a 5 star)!!! People didn't even know 'dogs were allowed', and my grand-dog got plenty of attention! Nobody gave him a bad look. We also stayed longer, while the parents took him for a walk and a photo-op at the dock. The food? Everyone's happy with what they ordered! When you're at the marina, in a pleasant sunny day like today, EVERYONE wants to eat seafood! And coleslaw! And fries! The service: Being a hot day, wind made it pleasant, I was still thirsty, and no one offered us more water, there are plenty of tables, but I understand in the hospitality industry, they need those tables! My son, carries ice water with him (dog, too gets thirsty), and he offered me some! We stayed longer than we should, and no one kicked us out! Next? Perfect day for ICE CREAM! Waited an hour to get our food. We arrived at 11:45am and placed our order. 15 minutes later a river tour boat arrived and filled up the restaurant. They were served their food almost immediately. If the server had informed us of the wait we would have gone somewhere else as we had 2 children with us that were very hungry. The location is right on the Columbia River. They were following all the COVID standards. Lots of parking. Little bit of a hike walking on the docks. Great service, beautiful late afternoon, drinks on the water, and awesome food. Be sure to get anything with French fries, wow. Ordered the Ruben on Sourdough bread. They grill the sandwiches. The Pastrami was very lean, and I'm still thinking about that sandwich. We also ordered the Salmon tacos and other great food. Can't wait to go back. What a fun experience. The service was good, the food delicious, and the fresh air just made it that much better.

The food was okay, not terrific but fine and what I expected from this type of establishment, I had fish taco and the fish was cooked nicely, neither undercooked or overcooked. A little space on the sauce. Came with tortilla chips and salsa but the salsa was not very good. My complaint is I was unable to sit outside or even by the rail looking over the water because I was alone. They treated me as a single diner poorly. There were certainly tables outside and a table for 4 in the corner over looking the water but I was denied those tables because "we save those for larger parties". They were not busy, many empty tables and it wasn't a weekend. The woman who seated me left me with no menu, no water, even though it was close to 90. I doubt I'll be back read more

We've never been to the Portland area and we were going to be there for the day. Looked up places to eat on the water and The Deck appeared. It is in the marina and not very visible from the parking lot but decided to go in and try it. Fun little floating Restuarant. Staff was super friendly. Miguel, our server, was very friendly and helpful. Food was great. So glad we gave it a shot. The day was overcast but we could tell that on a sunny day this would be a great place to hang out and chill. Will definitely be back next time we're in town. read more

My husband and I came here for a friend's birthday. The food was mediocre. We sat for at least 35 mins before anyone acknowledged us. When we went to tell our friend goodbye, the waiter ask if we had paid for our meal that was already paid for with another server. that was embarrassing for the waiter to ask us that. He could have simply checked with the other staff to see if we had paid for our meal. Before embarrassing us in front of other customers. I will never return to this restaurant. read more
