My husband and I came here for a friend's birthday. The food was mediocre. We sat for at least 35 mins before anyone acknowledged us. When we went to tell our friend goodbye, the waiter ask if we had paid for our meal that was already paid for with another server. that was embarrassing for the waiter to ask us that. He could have simply checked with the other staff to see if we had paid for our meal. Before embarrassing us in front of other customers. I will never return to this restaurant. read more

The food was okay, not terrific but fine and what I expected from this type of establishment, I had fish taco and the fish was cooked nicely, neither undercooked or overcooked. A little space on the sauce. Came with tortilla chips and salsa but the salsa was not very good. My complaint is I was unable to sit outside or even by the rail looking over the water because I was alone. They treated me as a single diner poorly. There were certainly tables outside and a table for 4 in the corner over looking the water but I was denied those tables because "we save those for larger parties". We've never been to the Portland area and we were going to be there for the day. Looked up places to eat on the water and The Deck appeared. It is in the marina and not very visible from the parking lot but decided to go in and try it. Fun little floating Restuarant. Staff was super friendly. Miguel, our server, was very friendly and helpful. Food was great. So glad we gave it a shot. The scenery was Awesome. They had music playing and the sun was shinning! Came in to check out a few things and happy I did. I tried the cheese burger sliders and A Mai Tai! They both were good. Sliders were juicy and flavorful with a great bun. I wish it was toasted other than that yummy. The Mai Tai was made with Sailor Jerry and that was super easy to drink! This place is ideal if you want to go out in the summer. I come here with my best friend a few times each year in the summer. Came here on a Sunday Afternoon, I was surprised they were not packed as it was a nice day out. We were greeted and sat right away on the outer deck. Our server was super attentive and got our drink order right away. She was very friendly and gave us opinions on her favorite things. After ordering our food it came up really fast, all was correct as well. The food was okay, not bad by any means but also not the greatest food I've had. The prices were also a little on the high side. The atmosphere is really why you come to a place like this, being right on the water it is beautiful. I'm a fan for the service and their floating deck.It's probably not a good idea to sit on the floating deck if you easily get seasick as it does sway a little. We checked this place out on the 4th of July with my dog. (dog friendly, yaay!) The burger and fish & chips were about average. The cod was a bit tough but fries were good. It's the perfect outdoor spot for casual drinks with friends. Absolutely beautiful on a sunny day! Came mid week with a large group and service was super attentive & friendly. Never saw the red/green coasters for service while we were here. Enjoyed the Idaho smoked trout dip appitizer served with jicama & crackers. Our friends ordered cocktails in mason jar style cups with lids (you can keep) we enjoyed the IPAs on tap and a coffee beer they had for $1- what a steal! Got to watch the food parade come out as our friends meals were served-the huge salads, burgers, ahi, and wings all looked delightful. I asked the waitress and she said regular fries but we could substitute waffle fries. 30 minutes after ordering a tour boat unloaded 25 - 30 people. Waitress said the our order was going to be a bit longer... really? The kitchen worked on the tour boat food. Our waitress said she would check on our lunches and never came back. I wish we were told when we arrived that lunch would be extremely slow because the kitchen was working on a large order. It would have given time to go to the Sextant. The waitress said they were out of fries and everyone was getting waffle fries. Adding salt to the wound, the substitution of the waffle fries actually cost extra for the substitution! The worst part about this fine dining establishment is that it's only open half of the year. The ambience is phenomenal and the food is suited to match. There is nothing more idillic than parking your boat on the adjacent dock and having one of the tasty and effective Mai Tais. We went to The Deck today, after realizing that they offered more Vegetarian/Vegan options than Island Cafe, where we had originally planned to go. It was a nice sunny day so the ambiance was great. Our server was pleasant and I'd give her props but she never said her name and wasn't wearing a name tag. However, I did appreciate that she was dressed more modest than some of the other employees, who appeared to think they were working at Hooters. At our table of 7 guests, two of us ordered the Fish and Chips thinking we would be enjoying some FRESH fish. What a disappointment! This was obviously a frozen fish product that you can buy at any grocery store. Others at the table had tacos, Vegan Chicken Wrap, a Hawaiian Burger, and Chicken Strips. Apparently, those who had the Fish and Chips were not the only ones disappointed. The burger was a "let down", not as good as the last time and the Chicken Strips were also a frozen product just dropped in hot oil. Definitely worth the visit. My wife and I came here for "Date Night" and we loved it... aside from the overcast weather which was not their fault. The location is AWESOME!! (If you are looking for indoor dining, they don't really have that. There is covered seating and uncovered seating). Like most places, they have been impacted by supply chain disruptions and so some of the menu items weren't available but they tried modifying an order on the fly to see how it would work... which we enjoyed... All the food we got was good. We got halibut bites, steak bites and loaded fries (they didn't have the queso sauce so they tried something different). All the staff were super nice and created a friendly/ relaxed atmosphere. I think the manager or owner was there and I like the atmosphere they created for their staff. The only thing going for this restaurant is that it is on the water. You can tie a small boat next to it. The food is low-end quality bar food and expensive. I had the fish and chips. French fries with 3 small pieces if battered cod fish obviously ftom a bag of frozen ones and it was $20. I also tried their clam chowder which is not very good but not awful either. read more

We hit the deck and so glad we did! It was the first day of summer here in Portland (July 5th to be exact). I just had to celebrate that and go somewhere that looks like a day in the life of a vacation.. There's fancy boats about and fish and chips and ducks.. and drinks with umbrellas.. We got there inbetween a rush so it was very peaceful looking out at the water under our umbrella watching the sailboats float by. They are separated from the main waters as this restaurant is located the same place as a group of houseboats. You can still feel the wake though when some of those big/fast boats fly on by. They have a happy hour and we ordered their shrimp cocktail for starters and a margarita for 5.00. The shrimp were fresh and there were plenty of them. Their cocktail sauce is loaded with horseradish which works for me. I then ordered the ahi caesar, dressing on the side. The greens were not the light crunchy green but were a mix. There was not an obnoxious amount of parmesan cheese and the dressing on the side controls the sometimes overzealous. Ahi was cooked perfectly and it was a good size. I had to have another drink and this time I had the pomegranate margarita. All in all, a decent spot with a decent food menu, on a decently wonderful sunny day. read more
