    Steamer Clams

The Lighthouse is a fantastic spot with a great throwback atmosphere. The steamer clams are amazing, easily a must-try. They've got good TVs and pool tables, making it a solid spot to hang out and catch a game. Even though it's a bit out of the way, this is a bar I'd definitely make a point to go to -- great food, drinks, and vibes all around.

My friend and I were coming off a trail and had lunch here. The staff were so, so friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. I loved the decor which had layers of cool stuff. I was impressed that they had so many house-smoked meats. The turkey sandwich I had was just delicious and perfectly flavored. I look forward to coming back next time I'm in the area.

I always look forward to grabbing lunch at this half dive bar, half restaurant on the way to Scappoose. One side is cooler, darker and basic, with a long bar on one side and tables scattered around the rest of the room (the bar part); the other side, where I like to post up, is brighter, with more windows and warm wood tones. Way more cozy. Looks like the menu has changed a bit since I last visited; breakfast is only offered on weekends, so this last time I had the chipotle chicken tacos which had a very nice subtle zip to them. Great flavors and good sauces but alas the chicken was dry and a bit overcooked. Service was outstanding though, as always, and I'm sure I'll be back. The vibe is low key but inviting and the drive past Forest Park and the St John's Bridge alone is worth it.

I drove out here past the Saint John bridge on the highway, 30 to meet a friend. I had never heard of this place, but he said it was a quiet place to have a nice visit. Upon arriving, I was really charmed by the decorations on the inside. Fairy country cabin. We ordered the special for that day. Being a weekend they had homemade biscuits! They were the best biscuits I've had in a while. Light with a crispy exterior, so buttery and delicious. We got the country fried steak that came with fried potatoes and your choice of eggs. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly and the country fried steak was homemade and so crispy delicious. The service was pretty good, considering our waiter was the only one working our section. She was super busy, but we were taken care of. I will definitely come back here and try some other of their delicious looking eights. Well worth the drive.

Stopped by here tonight finally. I pass it all of the time and it always seems pretty busy. The service was good and the food was good. It did take a long time for the food to actually make its way out though. I noticed that with all of the tables. It's a nice place to stop and have a drink if you're in the area. I will say that my nephew loves this lace and is here all of the time.

Our bartender/server was great! She gave us some history about Linton that we never knew about which was the kind of thing we like to find out when we're trying something/somewhere new! It's a great "hide-away" bar if you're from St. John's or even if you're just passing by. Great food! I would give the place as a whole 5 stars, but the food is just 4 stars. It's not horrible food, just not 5 stars. You know what I mean? I look forward to another runaway date here!

Came here for a second time. We ordered the Ruben sandwich (which was killer), cheeseburger with fries (make sure you tell the server how you like your meat cooked), beef nachos and the fried chicken sandwich. All the food we got was very flavorful. The nachos came out cold and the server was very receptive and immediately corrected the issue by having them remake it. They came out the 2nd time hot and delicious, so no knock on them for taking care of it. Overall, we will be back.

    Reuben Sandwich with house fries

We were in that area, picking strawberries and doing our weekly walk, and it's time for food-to-go picnic as part of our ritual pandemic couple activity. We search for the nearest restaurant and Lighthouse was our choice to go. Ordering was very easy. We ordered the Crispy Fish-wich and the Reuben Sandwich, both came with house fries. Both sandwiches were excellent! DH noticed that the corned beef in the Reuben was extremely favorable. He speculated that the beef was prepared specially at the restaurant. Sure enough, checking the menu, it was revealed that the corned beef was house-cured corned beef. It was fantastic! My crispy fish-wich was about 4" thick, contained colesaw and special restaurant sauce. Luckily, we always bring knife & fork with our picnic bag, that we were able to cut it in 1/4's (so was the Reuben), so I CAN finger eat it, since my mouth doesn't open 4" wide! It was a messy task, but this is what desperate hungry people do! When the food is messy, it must be tasty . . . and THIS WAS! We were too pre-occupied pigging out on our sandwiches, we left very little plus most of our fries behind for 'leftover dinner' pig out! (Note: when planning a picnic, make sure you have packed with you cold bottled water from home, and extra water (doesn't have to be cold) for rinsing off your fingers! They come in handy, when messy eaters get all over your fingers! I'm not, just sauce dripping at everything.

So finished up a round of golf at Wild Wood. Beautiful course by the way. Then headed down to this restaurant. The food is always very good, and the employees are very friendly but you do need to allocate some time . It can take awhile to get your food. But the being said it's a great place for a meal.

I love this place especially for their brunch. I do miss movies on the TVs as now it is all sports which is kind of lame.

I was not wild about the salad we got, The Crunchmaster Crisp, the my friend said a different one she had previously was really good. We got the Crusty Avocado - seeds coat the outside and inside the avocado is filled with Ahi tuna. That was a good dish. We also had Garden Peas which were pretty good. The trout was excellent, the Fried Chicken was unique, and quite good. We got a couple of the skewers (they're small!), the pork belly and the steak and both were great. I could have ordered several and made a meal out of those! The Milk Chocolate dessert was good, but I wasn't a big fan of the "baby popcorn". The Whip-a-licious was well liked by my friend. It was better than I thought it would be because I'm not a big passion fruit fan. Our service was excellent. All together, I definitely recommend for the food, atmosphere, and service. Even my mom commented that it seemed like something was off with our waiter. It was a bit disappointing because the food was so good, but the service took away from the overall experience.

The Rock Creek Tavern is a short drive north of Hillsboro, OR, on a quiet stretch of NW Old Cornelius Pass Road (a northwest offshoot of the much busier Cornelius Pass Road). This is my opinion -- I'm merely a local customer and a big fan.
