There is some delicious irony in the fact that we went to a deli for lunch after visiting the nearby Vegan Center. And there is some delicious food in this review. It's a rather blustery day out, but it's also my playdate with one of my besties. I've been eyeballing this place since the "coming soon" sign had gone up, and today was the day I was going to step foot inside, with any price reservations getting stuffed. Because sometimes you need to dig a little deeper in your wallet to get a little more out of life. The door chimed to alert a bored looking girl that we had arrived. She disappeared as we poured over the multiple menus to decide what to eat. An older woman came out to take our order. I made the breakfast cutoff, which is noon, so I ordered the breakfast tacos. For 9.99, you get two soft flour tortillas filled with scrambled eggs, sauteed red onions and green peppers with melted pepper jack cheese. The menu claims you save a dollar if you forgo the meat, yet I noticed on the receipt that instead she opted to add an egg instead of docking the cost. She asked if that was all, and I mistakenly thought that she meant for my order so I paid her my cash and gave her my name. She immediately disappeared. My bestie and I shared a confused look. We had obviously been talking about what she had wanted to order and the place isn't that large for the conversation to get lost. Big enough to have a few tables with chairs and a booth inside. There's no bell to ring. We puzzled over what to do before yelling "excuse me" over the barrier to get her attention. She did apologize, claiming she thought we were going to share the dish. I get that it comes with a hashbrown too, but that's not a lot of food between two hungry stomaches. It was enough to fill me alone. My bestie ordered a patty melt with onion rings and a can of soda with her card. The sandwich comes with a pickle spear and 50 cent bag of Lays. Ten minutes passed as we watched Spongebob on tv. The food was brought directly to our seats as we were the only people in the room. (Another two parties would arrive as we were leaving shortly after noon, so I think it was a matter of timing, which given their abbreviated hours is a small miracle.) I made haste in taking bragging right pictures before grabbing a tableside napkin to tuck in. Consider the pricing reservations officially stuffed, because this plate was stuffed with all the right stuff. While service does unfortunately drag this review down at least a star, the food saves it. I was presented with two beautiful tacos and a hashbrown, complete with two packets of ketchup and one of Franks. I first bit into the hashbrown. I did need to wipe grease from my fingertips a few times, and the salt is definitely in the foreground. I don't often treat myself to authentically fried food, and this was hitting all the right tastebuds. I took a bite of the taco. The onion and pepper are present, getting sprinkled on the entirety of the dish. The eggs, the star. I've been avoiding them with the recent uptick in grocery prices, and I'm not going to say that is entirely why my stomach was smiling, though it probably did help. Usually scrambled eggs are on the bottom of my ranking. These, however, were creamy and eggy, balancing perfectly with the veg, cradled in a super soft tortilla. The melted cheese was a half promise, full slice, with it still retaining some shape, at no detriment to the meal. I appreciated that the only time I experienced leakage was when I chose to add the hot sauce to the second taco. Personally, I think the flavors work well enough without the sauce. Both work; merely a personal preference. My bestie was working on her patty melt, which was served on garlic buttered sourdough. She did remark that she wished the bread was thicker to better contain the wet, and that she felt the second angus patty was a bit extra, otherwise enjoying her investment. It comes with cheese and onion, again a side of ketchup. Hers came in a container. The onion rings looked and tasted unlike frozen ones. The inconsistency of shape (there was a hunk!) and mighty stick power of the coating led her to happily believe that they were authentically homemade. It came with a boom boom sauce that she didn't bother to dunk them in, claiming they were great enough without it. I pocketed the sauce to take home, as well as her small bag of chips, as after her delightful pickle, which held up to her three part standard of audible crunch, flavor and lack of wobble, she was quite full. We wanted a to go box for the rest of her meal. Unable to find anyone, even after calling over the barrier again, we made a makeshift box out of the serving plates to shield her food from the snow. So my curiosity is sated, as is my appetite. I feel like I would want to give this place a second chance, perhaps with a to go order to avoid the feeling of being a burden to the staff. Was such a pleasure dinning at the Twin City Deli! Called my order in so when I arrived it was pretty much ready to go. They offer a variety of different options and so far everything that I've had has been great! The food is made to perfection and is always good! The staff are always friendly and the ambiance of the place is great. They offer inside seating as well as outside patio type seating. Stopped in for takeout from Twin City Deli. They carry an assortment of sandwiches and a deli for coldcuts. We decided on a Reuben, Patty melt , smoked turkey, and a kids turkey sandwich. We also had an order of sweet potato fries and onion rings. Sandwiches are packed with meat and delicious. Sweet potato fries come with a honey butter sauce which is great. We were traveling from visiting Niagara Falls (Canada side) and headed to the Buffalo New York Airport. We stopped at Twin City Deli and found out it's under new ownership. Owner introduced himself to us and the sandwiches were great! The bread was awesome! I got the French dip and husband got the Cubano; highly recommend. My husband REALLY wants to ride bikes along the Erie Canal trail between Buffalo and Albany. Me ... not so much. But I've agreed to do it in segments. Fair warning: if you need/prefer a soft seat you're not going to find one here. A Cuban sandwich is my FAVORITE sandwich So when I heard a deli they had one was so close I HAD to go! I mean it was a smaller end place which isn't bad at all! (Small business size allows for better quality control). However, it was me and one other person in the establishment when I went in to order. For one sandwich, (no sides, no salads, not even drinks to pour) it took 20 minutes for this sandwich to be completed. The sandwich itself was ok, I mean they used Dijon mustard as their mustard for a CUBAN SANDWICH. No, sorry, that French mustard is a bad replacement for the classic strong bright yellow mustard! It was 14.50 and comes with a small bag of lays....fir 1$ extra I got a better brand of chips brining my total to 15.50 for a 6" sub and tiny bag of chips.....this is definitely not a value. For 15$ I could go to Charlie the butcher and get a hot beef on weck! And I leave more satisfied.... read more

What a hidden gem! Twin City Deli is right on Main Street in the City of Tonawanda with plenty of street parking (spots right on the street). I called ahead for 2 French Dips sandwiches ($13 each but they were $1 off for the special!) and they said 10-15 minutes, super quick wait times so take that into account when ordering! They are only open until 6pm Monday-Thursday, 10am-8pm on Friday, 10am-4pm on Saturday, and closed on Sunday so if you are ordering during the week, it's pretty ideal to pick it up on the way home. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get! I do recommend getting the fries for the up charge as a side because the bags of chips are kind of small but it didn't bother me. The staff (I think one was the owner) was super nice and friendly. The French Dip was amazing! The cheese was a little melted, the bread was crisp, the meat was tender, and the sandwich was warm. I did cut it in half to eat it but you really wouldn't need to. The Aus Ju was so tasty, although a bit salty. I haven't had a French Dip in forever so I really don't remember if it's supposed to be salty and it was too overbearing. The pickle was also so crisp and tangy, I loved it! I will definitely be returning, hopefully to try the fish fry on a Friday. read more

Got blue cheese they would not correct there mistake only would offer me another sandwich half off even if I returned this one. Will never go again. I needed a place to grab a quick bite to eat so I headed down Main St, to go to Spot when I came across this gem! I'd eaten here once before but totally forgot about it since we only recently came back to the office. I stopped in and was greeted right away, which is always a nice feeling. Nothing worse than waiting to be acknowledged when you're hungry and in a time crunch! I settled on the Spicy Chicken sandwich, and was pleasantly surprised at not only how quickly it was ready (about 10-12 min, sooner than their estimated 15 min - WIN!), but how big the sandwich was! It was on a lightly toasted roll, with fresh tomato and shredded lettuce (not usually my first choice but it didn't take away from the taste!), it also had a large piece of breaded chicken that was the perfect amount of "spicy" and a honey mustard that tied it all together. The pickle was even wrapped up separately so that it didn't get the sandwich all soggy while in transit - how thoughtful! My sandwich came with a small bag of chips and a generous amount of napkins. Everyone was super friendly, and the shop front/dining area was super inviting. It has a little old town cafe feel to it! We tried this place for the first time and my husband wanted to try the ultimate Dagwood sandwich. Tiffany took our phone order and told us to head her way in about 30 minutes. Upon arrival she was finishing up making the sandwich and as I waited she carefully sliced each cold cut and cheese to order. Needless to say it took two boxes for her to wrap it and we headed home with a very heavy bag anxious to taste this coveted sandwich. It was so fresh and flavorful and my husband devoured it sharing it with me. If I had one criticism it was almost too big to eat but I love that they give you extra bread so you can make more manageable size sandwiches which we quickly did. It comes with two bags of gourmet chips the extra bread and any of the condiments that you prefer on the side. It also is served with a whole Deli pickle wrapped separately which we appreciated. By the end of our lunch we were so stuffed we could barely move. The sandwich had so much flavor but I think the big win was how fresh it was you could really taste the difference in the quality of Boar's Head meat and the Fresh Slice to order meats and cheese and veggies. I went here for the first time and will definitely be back! When I first got there, there were two other customers waiting for their food. I placed my order and then waited. There was suddenly a huge lunch rush of people ordering food as well as picking up online orders. This was a good sign as they obviously have a great business. The wait was a bit long but I didn't mind. Once my order was up, the man recognized I had been waiting, and gave me an extra pickle as well as a free cookie and thanked me for waiting.
