Second time getting a cleaning from Esma and her bedside manner is warm & personable. I despise going to the Dentist, so I especially appreciate her ability to calm me down. She also is knowledgeable & I always leave with best practices around oral hygiene. For as long as she's there she'll be my go to person. Dr. Huerta's office is a chic, high tech, unique zen space that allows for more relaxation than you'd expect from a Dental office. The office is always clean, with soothing music playing throughout & the office Mascott Luna, a friendly little dog, is always roaming around greeting everyone. On your way out or while in the waiting room, you can enjoy a bottle of pellegrino water or soda, wine or an espresso shot for free. Tell me which other dental facility offers those kinds of treats! Dr. Huerta himself has a kind friendly disposition, and provides you with his full attention, so you don't leave feeling rushed. It's easy to book an appointment online or by calling the office directly. And did I mention it's a one stop shop! So everything is done in house & doesn't need to be shipped off to a 3rd party facility, which means a quicker turnaround especially for complex cosmetic procedures. I'm so glad I finally found a dentist I can trust and it's covered by my insurance (Aetna). Everything here is 5 stars. Where do I start? - Clean polished office located close to main subway lines (1, 2, B, D, F, M, E, PATH) just a few blocks off Herald Square - Dental assistants that are nice, careful and charismatic - Dr Huerta that makes me feel at easy, recommends the right treatments and does not oversell or scare you into doing expensive unnecessary treatments not covered by insurance (this happened to me at No Limits Dental, shame on them) - Latest technology - they have this laser drills for fillings that does not hurt and doesn't need numbing, so you can go on with your life afterwards without half numbed face - Never surprise billed (so far, fingers crossed!) - The nicest waiting area in any medical office with Nespresso, wines, Pellegrino and iPads - Luna!! I went here for an emergency, the staff at that time were super friendly and reassuring. The doctor was really accommodating and he knows what he's doing. The ambiance is modern and chic. Refreshments (including alcoholic beverages!) are available in the waiting area. There are several tablet computers mounted on the wall free to use while waiting for your appointment. The waiting room! The dog! Dr. Huerta! They're all fantastic--totally true. What's less fantastic is the process of actually getting in to see said doctor. At my first appointment, I got there on time, then waited for 40 minutes to be seen. Not great, but I figured that any office has bad days, so I scheduled a second appointment. Today, after waiting for nearly 30 minutes in the admittedly beautiful waiting room, I finally bailed because I needed to go back to work. If you have infinite amounts of patience and time, I recommend Dental Boutique. I'll be hunting for a new dentist. I'm sure he or she won't look nearly as much like Keegan-Michael Key as Dr. Huerta does, but hopefully they'll be a little better organized. read more

I had such a wonderful experience here! I highly, highly, highly recommend this office. They take many types of insurance so you can't go wrong. THE OFFICE - super clean, modern, well-lit, and not at all sterile.They have iPads in the waiting area, and all the forms are filled out electronically on their iPads. It is clear that Dr. Huerta has invested in this office. They even ask you for your favorite Pandora radio station and will it play it upon request.Did I mention there's free wine? It's also conveniently located near Penn station. SERVICE - fast, efficient, and friendly. Dr. Huerta is nice, professional and honest. His nurses are also really friendly, and I got the most thorough cleaning of my life (they really killed it). They do a lot of small things that enhance your experience i.e. putting Vaseline on your lips before the cleaning. It's a small touch, but it actually makes a difference HONESTY - This is key. Unlike most dentist offices that try to scam people into having to take x-rays on your first visit, they first asked me if I had gotten an x-ray in the last year at another dental office. I had so instead of making me take them again, they just asked that I contact my previous obvious and have them send it over. Additionally, they planned on handling all payment with the insurance, so I didn't have to pay out of pocket upfront. This is the way things should work, but obviously don't at many dental offices. A+++ for the honesty at Dr. Huerta's practice. LUNA, THE DOG - it sounds ridiculous, but it has to be said. I was so confused when I saw this precious little dog come right up to me when I signed in at the front desk. I just figured it was another patient's dog. But I was told the Luna the dog is always at the office and is actually a therapy dog. She is just the sweetest thing and super approachable and friendly. I just about died inside when she popped into my lap as I was getting my teeth examined by Dr. Huerta. While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, I loved it! read more

Dr. Huerta kindly agreed to see me in an emergent case on very short notice. From the moment you walk into the office, it is clear that one can expect a high level of professionalism and cleanliness in his or her dental experience. The office itself is unlike any other medical office I've seen - the waiting area has a row of iPads to help catch up on email or the news. There's a huge assortment of drinks ranging from sparkling water to fruity sodas to wine. As for Dr. Huerta's dentistry work, he was extremely diligent and thorough in his work and was happy to explain what he was doing along the way. The emergency I went to him with was a filling that had fallen out twice with a previous dentist, and he was able to replace the filling with the end result being better than I could have ever imagine. This is a new clinic that I went to about 12 days ago for a regular checkup, I had no issues or pain at all. Doctor Carlos J. Huerta worked on my teeth to fix a small tiny cavity since then I have been in huge pain, I can not eat or drink anything, It ruined my Thanksgiving holiday. I had to go back to the clinic to get it fixed, he took another Xray and kept giving me different excuses why my tooth still hurt, one time he said it could be a crack in the tooth, other times he said maybe there is bacteria still in the tooth because the area wasn't cleaned enough for the new filling, or maybe it's the gum and yesterday he said that I should take off the tooth!! I can not believe this!! When I complained to the practice manager, they were on the doctor's side, they are even worse. Now, I will have to go to a different clinic to get my teeth fixed, I just hope that I won't have to take off the tooth and the nerve was not hit. The doctor also speaks too fast that his patients will have hard time to understand what he is saying and he won't give you any time to speak. I have been to many dentists over the years but Dr. Huerta is my favorite. He is always happy to see clients and treats you very well. The office dog is a bonus that really takes the stress out of dental care. The office is modern and clean and they provide wine, sparkling water and other refreshments in the waiting area. Terrible experience here as a new patient. Was told forms had been sent in advance, they were not. Had provided insurance information prior to appointment, which was never reviewed. The receptionists could not locate my insurance and told me that "the receptionist was unexpectedly out" (which was hard to believe considering there were two receptionists not particularly willing to deal with the insurance coverage standing in front of me) and that I would need to figure this out on my own. What precisely I was figuring out remains to be seen as I bailed. So, because of Dr. Huerta, I now visit the dentist twice annually, no pre-emptive freakouts and anxiety waiting for the day. His staff texts to confirm and I'm able to get appointments after work. He's still got that wine cooler (no red of course, to avoid staining), and his awesome dog Luna is around and even chilled on my lap this last visit when I had a Glo professional whitening treatment. I was scared because I'd hear terrible things about the pain from Zoom whitening, but Glo made my teeth about 5 shades whiter and while my teeth were a bit sensitive for the next 24 hours, it was fine after a dose of Advil. First of all the ambiance - is it possible to put ambiance and dental office in the same subject- is incredible! The attention to detail to make sure that you, the patient, are comfortable and at ease. Dr. Huerta was recommended by a friend who had really bad cavities and needed tough root canal treatment. And doctor saved his teeth! I was hesitating to visit because I hadn't done teeth cleaning for years and didn't use floss at all. And this clinic looked too fancy. So I felt embarrassed about my teeth and afraid the doctor might be judgmental (I know I just thought too much). Finally I made the appointment. I had teeth cleaning and tooth filling. Both times, Dr. Huerta cleaned and checked my teeth so thoroughly and made sure nothing was missed. He was professional, polite, friendly and patient. The front desk lady might not have a lot of smile, but she was also professional, efficient, and did her job very well. The best thing about Dental Boutique is that they never overbooked appointments. So far I've been there 3 times, I was always the only patient during the whole visit. The next patient showed up when I about to leave. You won't see tons of patients packed in the waiting area. You have quality time of treatment, privacy and respect. As other reviews said, this place is clean, bright and modern, in both interior design and equipment. In their email, they clearly mentioned "Upon arrival, you will have your temperature taken" during COVID-19, but actually no one tested my temperature in the whole process. Also, I'm not very satisfied with my teeth cleaning because my hygienist didn't check my gum health and didn't use scraper tool to have a thorough cleaning. I was looking for a new dentist since my previous dentist retired, and so I got some recommendations from friends and then read reviews online. Dr Huerta's office (and the Dental Boutique practice overall) had a very high rating across many reviews, so I was glad to see that they were taking new patients. Signing up for an appointment via ZocDoc had a few glitchy moments, but that definitely wasn't the fault of the dentist office. And actually the front desk receptionist, Jonathan and I joked around about it when I arrived. He put me at ease, cracking jokes and goofing around with me as I filled in a short form to get started. Then, before I even had time to sit down in the reception area, my dental hygienist, Prisila showed up and kicked off the visit. She asked what type of music I'd like to listen to, and was very friendly and knowledgeable...talking through each step to make things comfortable. She actually taught me a bit about measuring gum health as she performed this step, which was interesting. She was also very attentive about an area where I had sensitivity, and the cleaning was pain-free and smooth. When it came to the check up from Dr Huerta, he was also friendly and helpful in understanding not only my current cavity-free situation, but also answered questions I had about potential future cosmetic options. Recently, my gold inlay fell out and the office managed to squeeze me in the very next day for an urgent appointment ! I was fairly anxious coming in - as I had childhood experiences with dentists in other countries not using proper anesthesia -but he made the whole process smoothly fly by! When my dentist of 20+ years retired, I knew I had a challenge before me in finding a new dentist. You see, I suffer from extreme anxiety coupled with sensitive teeth which makes going to the dentist extremely stressful for me. All right, y'all -- I've never posted a review on Yelp before, but because I found Dr. Huerta through Yelp reviews, I felt like I should first say thank you to everyone who has posted previously, because Dr. Huerta is THE BEST and I'm so grateful and relieved to have a dentist in the city. And second, if you're reading this because you're searching for new dentist, especially if you're someone like me who had not seen a dentist for a while, I'm here to tell you that all the wonderful things posted about Dr. Huerta and his practice are 100% true. His office is incredibly welcoming, the atmosphere is relaxed and calming, the reception area is set up to provide maximum convenience and comfort for patients: the iPad bar, the beverage station, the comfortable, stylish seating, the soft lighting, and the decor which makes the space feel like an airy beach house more than a dental office. And all of course spotlessly clean. The rooms where you receive treatment are just as thoughtfully laid out, state-of-the-art equipment with design touches like high ceilings that bring a lot of air and light in the rooms -- very soothing. Jonathan Santiago, who manages the front desk and office operations is FANTASTIC. He went above and beyond to help me get the x-rays from my previous dentist (whose business office tried to tell me they wouldn't release them), and every step of the way has made sure that I understood the costs and what my insurance would cover. He's amazing, and really takes the stress out of the whole process. It seems like they accept a pretty wide range of insurance, and I believe they also now offer their own yearly plan for people without insurance. And all of the thoughtfulness invested in creating an environment that is therapeutic and comfortable for the patient is just a reflection of Dr. Huerta himself. I found Dr. Huerta after several weeks of some pretty bad pain from a couple fillings that I got from a previous dentist. Dr. Huerta made adjustments for me twice, and corrected my bite -- basically tried everything to avoid having to replace the filling from the other dentist, but that's what ended up happening because the pain never went away in that tooth. And I was dreading the pain of the procedure -- dentists have had problems getting me numb enough, the previous dentist had to use two shots, and I still felt the drilling so had to get another shot during the procedure. Not to worry! Dr. Huerta fixed that thing LIKE A BOSS, he's so efficient and skillful, and I never felt a thing! Seriously, even getting the shot (just one and done!) was nothing, I felt not even a pinch from the needle. I was done and out of there inside 45 minutes, and my tooth is recovering nicely. I can finally chew on the left side of my mouth again, which I hadn't been able to do since Nov. 3rd! And of course, as many others have said, Luna the best therapy dog ever sat in my lap during the work. It really does make a difference in the stress level, having that happy little face around. So sweet and friendly. I recommended Dr. Huerta to a friend recently, who went in for a cleaning last week and texted me immediately afterwards to rave about how fantastic it was. And my husband is about to make an appointment for himself. And if you're debating about where to go, believe me, I understand the stress and hesitation but I'm telling you: Dr. Huerta is the real deal, he's just the best. The Dental Boutique was by far the best experience i have had with dental work. It had been quite awhile since my last visit to a dentist. I felt that the advice and consultation i received from Dr. Huerta was extremely trustworthy. In the past, dentist I have worked with have seemed to prefer recommending expensive work whereas at the Dental boutique, the advice was focused around helping me understand what was necessary and why. The cleaning on the first visit was by far the best I have had at any dentist. The decor of the office is better than any doctors/dentists office I have been in before. The minimalist design is extremely refreshing as compared to most places. You would not think this would matter much, but it actually makes going to the dentist much more pleasant than any other location i have been at. It also seems to make the anxiety a lot lower than in other places I have been. The first procedure for fillings was exceptional. There was no wait and planning/scheduling done by the office is great. Working in finance it is difficult to plan medical/dental visits and this office is one of the few places that has hours that work well for people who cannot go during a typical 9-5 weekday. Previous dentists have not seemed nearly as concerned with how the patient is feeling as Dr. Huerta, and despite having an extremely deep cavity i felt no pain at all. Was able to fill multiple cavities with no pain and the results were great. I was shocked that we were able to do a filling on what was an extremely large cavity and even more shocked that the pain during and after the procedure was almost none. It is hard to find dentists/doctors that you feel comfortable with, trust, and are extremely happy with the results. I will be recommending this place. read more

As soon as I walked into the office, I was greeted by one of the sweet office doggies (Luna) before arriving to the front desk. EVERYONE is very friendly and patient which is very important to me. It was pass 7:30pm when I walked out of my office without a plan, yelped "emergency dentist" and Dr. Huerta pop-ed up just like, now I can say, sent from heaven! Not knowing what to expect I stormed into his office with what I imagine was the worst pain face a grownup man can have. After a short wait (he was attending another patient, I was already accommodated in one of the rooms of this extremely cool decorated office, and calmed by the unexpected presence of Luna, Dr. Huerta's little puppy, who entered the room and decided to take a nap in my lap (Now that I think about it, this is maybe one of the greatest strategies ever to calmed down a patient in pain) A few minutes later, remember it was almost 8:30pm now, Dr. Huerta arrived and proceed to work with such care and detail like he was ready to start the day!
