You call at 7:30 AM because you're in a great deal of pain and distress in the first place, and then it's doubly traumatizing because you're asking for sedation dentistry, and then who ever answered the phone over there SCREAMED at me that they do NOT do sedation dentistry when the WEBSITE SPECIFICALLY SAYS THEY OFFER SEDATION DENTISTRY. Not an apology in her voice, not a nice tone at all ... I can't imagine what goes on over there if this is how they answer the phone. read more

We really like Dr. Kuon! He explains everything and is very kind. He replaced a filling that was removed prematurely at the UMMC School of Dentistry. I've been going to this dental practice for approximately 5 years now. I've not encountered the negative aspects that others have posted here on Yelp. The practice is very busy, with lots of staff and patients circulating. But the office staff has always been professional and reasonably friendly; and the dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants have been the same. They all seem to handle the busyness of the practice well. I've never had to wait long to be seen, either. So my view of the practice is very positive. read more

The office team at Dental Group is inadequately trained to work with incoming patients. The Dental Group takes advantage of patients by leveraging their position as one of the only large dental practices in the Lewes area and expects their patients to go along with a rude staff. Many of these employees seem to concern themself with demoralizing patients and speaking gossip behind the desk as tho their patients cannot hear them while sitting in the waiting area. When I requested to speak with a higher up, I was instructed to call in at a different time. If quality, courteous service is what you're looking for, the Dental Group may not be the best option. read more

I found the entire experience friendly and helpful. I wasn't there for anything special. The last dentist I went to was just interested in getting the most money out of me they could. As a consequence, I hadn't been to a dentist in 5 years. I thought it was time I had my teeth looked at. The entire experience was positive. It impressed me with the equipment they used and Dr. Roach was professional, friendly, and he made it clear that he wasn't going to try selling me anything I didn't need or want. They charge a multiple of customary charges. If you have a bundle of money they offer good service. They are ridiculously expensive.

My recent dental care has been expertly provided by Dr. Zach Roach. Dr. Roach is able to put one at ease during some rather complicated dental procedures. An example of this is the long term care and advisement he gave to me concerning the successful implementation of an inplant for one of my front teeth. This involved the careful identification of the dental problem of a missing front tooth, and the prompt recommendation of an oral surgeon to provide the implant, in addition to the eventual designing of and insertion of the implant in a very competent and professional manner. His positive clinical manner enabled me to remain focused througouht some difficult parts of the procedure; and since we both have a strong intest in football, it became a common area of discussion throughout my treatment. His sense of humor helped to keep the situation positive. I would highly-recommend Dr. Roach to anyone in need of excellent and professional dental treatment. Jim Durante read more

In my opinion they are grossly negligent. Dr. Roach missed a tooth that needed a root canal. A new dentist actually looked at the xrays from Dental Group and spotted the tooth right away. Also, a cavity was filled, an infection developed, but the dentist said all 4 wisdom teeth need to come out. But, it was an infection. I heard staff make fun of older people in waiting room. They schedule teeth cleanings 9 mths. out, instead of 6 mths. and blame covid. But, other dentist do 6 mths. it probably is to squeeze in many more new patients. read more

Living with longevity, I have the good fortune to have visited several dental practices ... 3 different states, and I must say that The Dental Group here in Lewes/Rehoboth Beach is among the best. My natural teeth are important to me, and I trust my teeth to allow me to eat good balanced meals, which include fresh fruit & vegetables that require substantial chewing. Over the decades, I can gauge whether or not the dental office I am visiting is going to support me in this effort. Not only do I trust and enjoy the hygienists at The Dental Group, I am also impressed by Dr. Bryan. (Cassidy was the hygienist who took great care of me yesterday!) They are caring, efficient, professional and ethical. Staffing an efficient office requires several people who know their jobs. I have enjoyed interacting with all that I have come across at each of my visits. I don't particularly need people to cater to me, I just need fairness and equity, and I have been grateful for the wonderful customer service. Even though Medicare and my supplemental insurance don't cover my entire bill, whatever my share of cost is, it is totally worth it to me. read more

My experience at this office was great, until I got the bill. Absolutely outrageous. Being new to the area I called my insurance company to get names of Dentist that took my insurance and that were in plan. Being in plan was important as my insurance covers X-rays and cleanings at 100%. I was given the Dental groups name by my insurance company and called to make an appt and to verify they were in plan. Which they said they were. After getting the work done I fully expected to have everything covered. To my surprise I was sent a bill for $400. After calling them they said they were not in plan and that my insurance did not cover the work in full. The old bait and switch. Will never go back and it's too bad as the Dentist and hygienist were all terrific. read more

Absolutely superb in every way. Dr Kuon is a very nice person, and a very skilled dentist with an excellent bedside (chair side?) manner. the work he does is of top quality, and in the one instance he felt an oral surgeon would be a better choice, he referred me to an excellent one. His office is always pleasant and responsive to my needs, provides interest free financing for crowns and bridges, and moves me quickly through the process. Receptionist was horribly rude and prejudicious. I called to make an appointment for my little sister to translate since my mom does not speak English, I asked the receptionist to make a appointment to fill in a cavity and she said "we do not do that here" immediately I knew that as a lie as my mom has already went there for that reason AND a close friend of ours WORKS there as a hygienist, so I was I told her my mom has been there before, so as im translating for my mom the rep. just says "well its very expensive and you have to pay in cash upfront" and I said ok we will do so... and she just scoffs and hangs up. I guess In her little brain she thinks latinos don't have any money and shouldn't have access to dental care, after this at the exact same time that she hung up we called our friend who works there and explain what happened, she then tells us that the receptionist is very xenophobic and racist towards latinos. So our friend told the person in charge and they helped us with a next day appointment for my sister, she showed up and paid that exact receptionist in hundred dollar bills and I told my mom to dress up in all designer and when I tell you the lady was speechless!! That was the best part of my day!!! read more

I compared the cost of my recent cleaning with that of a year ago and there was a 10% increase. In addition to that, the dentist now spends 2 minutes after the cleaning looking over my teeth even though I didnt have any x-rays taken. That 2 minute review cost $72. The total cost including a floured treatment was $250, which seems very high. Lastly, the people manning their payment desk have never been particularly pleasant (never a hello or smile) and yesterday was no exception. I asked the woman taking my payment to update my insurance form for the complete name and mailing address of the insurance company (I provided her with that info) and she could only be bothered to type in the updated PO box. read more

Very poor customer relations. first visit was told could not clean teeth and referenced me to another dentist for periodontal cleaning. went to that dentist had 2 cleaning with him. He recommended cleaning every 4 months. Made another appointment with Lewes Dental and again they had a problem with cleaning my teeth. stated it would take 2 appointments to clean teeth. this was 4 months since periodontal but still they claimed teeth were to dirty to clean in one treatment. I asked why send me to periodontal if they did not think teeth were cleaned enough. Also at same time they were up selling me for additional periodontal treatment. which I again I questioned. At that time hygienist stopped and got office manager. Which explained to me why additional treatment was needed which I agreed to and paid for. went back today to pickup trays which I purchased to help with gum issues. when done i questioned an additional 22 bill from last visit. After a brief conversation with lady at front desk she went and get office manager which I talked to at last visit and she refuses to remove 22 bill and stated it was because they went above and beyond on last visit which I asked how and all she said was find a new dentist. I agreed and left. within 1 hour I received a letter terminating me as a patient and it stated because of my behavior toward employees. i guess questioning them is rude. This dentist is money hungry. Be very careful with extra charges. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Barnhart for a dozen years. When I began there was not a wide choice, so I put up with his unctuous manner and his Dental Group's grasping charges, but finally rebelled when he insisted on frequent X-rays, which are not only expensive (and profitable) but expose patients to a risk of cancer, cumulative over time, which he did not acknowledge. I was a new patient originally from the Main Line in PA - outside of Philadelphia. I had a dental exam, x-rays and a cleaning performed at. the Dental Group. The dentist and dental assistant, were friendly yet professional and seemed quite thorough. However, the dental hygienist although friendly seemed in a rush and did not provide a thorough cleaning. Additionally the cost was almost twice of that I paid for in PA 6 months ago on the Main Line. Although I have been in Lewes for a couple years I was going back to PA for dental and MD visits. The new Breakwater Spa Dental Office in Lewes is actually a little les expensive that The Dental Group. My neighbor who went to Breakwater loved the experience there better than the Dental Group. read more

front desk staff routinely talks down to you. your clearly a "number" at this large corporate styled office. on my first visit I felt it was important to communicate this to t office mngr. but flippantly told " she's not here". second visit i waited 50 mins, so again asked to speak with off mngr. again i was dismissed with " she's not there". i asked for my records and left. i'm a " cash pay" pt. and will happily schedule w an office that treats you as an appreciated patient. If you're on vacation and you see The Dental Group you will be gouged!! The hustle begins with the dentist assistance who insist you get a few hundred dollars of (unnecessary) X-rays when you're there because your crown fell off. If you insist on bypassing expensive X-rays, she informs you in a very direct manner, "if you come back you will have to go through an extensive examination, X-rays, consultation", and the list goes on and on. It's a disgrace this dental practice is so aggressive, but they are! It's cheaper to drive home than to visit this money pit. You have been warned. Thank you. read more

I have been a patient of this office for many many years. Today I called and spoke with a woman who reported she was a high ranking person within their organization. I asked her for special consideration about a problem, if you will, and she completely flipped out on me and referred inaccurate information to her staff, who then freaked out on me too. I used to love this company, but after today I just can't recommend them. Sorry. Plus, they make you pay upfront, and who wants to do that when you have insurance?! Not me. Good riddance! read more

If you are from out of town paying cash for a dental emergency, watch out with these guys! It will cost you. I arrived for our family's vacation last night and this morning I had a veneer pop off one of my front teeth. Got a quick appointment. That was nice. When I arrived I filled out the paperwork and asked the cost of re-cementing a veneer. I was told $174.00, higher than my back home dentist by about $35.00. I was lead to the dental chair and the hygienist said I needed an X-ray. I asked why since I intended to consult my dentist when I get back home. Standard procedure(of course). At that point I suspected as a cash customer I was going to get nailed. I was right because at checkout I was told it was $262.00. Wow to reverent 1 veneer! 24 hour dentist so disappointing. My son is traveling and staying with a friend. He develops tooth PAIN! What a nightmare to be away from home and have tooth pain and trouble eating. I was so thankful to find The Dental Group on line. Receptionist was nice and helpful getting my son in the next day. Well NOT so helpful in the end. My son arrived paid out of pocket for an X-ray , which we expected. But then they diagnosed him with a cavity and said we can't fit you in today to fix ! He paid and walked out win his X-ray in hand WHAT are you kidding me! When I called to discuss my frustration. I was told he got a break on the X-ray cost. They didn't charge him in full . Am I suppose to be thankful?You did nothing to help him and his pain. What a waste of time and money. Now searching for another dentist. First call was very disappointing from the beginning. I specified the doctor I wished to see and asked if he was accepting new patients. My boss referred me, as he is "a wonderful dentist". Maybe their phone manner just needs work, but the receptionist certainly let me know in her own way that I will never be one of them as she phone processed me on her little conveyor belt. She told me how much it would cost, and that before I could have my tooth repaired I had to have a comprehensive examination including a whole series of x-rays in case I had cancer or other mouth diseases before the doctor would even consider what to do, and then we could schedule an appointment. I would not be able to go there now, and I will never want to be one of them. Please do not bother with the boilerplate responses. I am simply not interested at this point. read more

These guys have been my dentists for my entire life. Started out with Dr. Jones in a small office on Savannah Road, across from the Lewes Firehouse as a child. When he moved, we followed him here. During my adolescent years into my adult life, Dr. Barnhart has become my dentist. They have done crowns, fillings, and everything in between on me. My teeth look great and I feel very confident in my smile thanks to their efforts. Great group of doctors and assistants. Very friendly group of professionals. read more

Had such a great experience at this place. I was on vacation in Dewey and had a dental emergency, and called just about every option in a 30 mile radius and this place was the only one who managed to fit me in, saving me a four hour drive home to my home dentist. They were extremely nice, comforting, and knowledgeable, managing to fix my semi-complex problem with ease and confidence. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone! read more
