The team is also worth praising as they fight the battle with insurances on patients behalf. Shout out to Kim & team who have consistently advocated to insurance on my behalf and worked on all the prior auths, new prior auths when insurance changed, and enrollments for patient assistance when insurance declines a mediation that the dermatology professionals have ordered. i came in for a small dermatological procedure. all the ladies were very nice. Lauren & Amy at the front were very welcoming. Alex was the (nurse?medical assistant?rn? not sure her title sorry!) young lady who helped me in my room & went over medical history etc. she was so warm & professional, she put me at ease even though i was nervous. Elena Novak was the PA & she was so wonderful! with her & Alex in the room they distracted me with friendly conversation so my procedure was over quickly. they both made sure i was comfortable & Elena gave me clear & easy verbal aftercare instructions. i do wish they gave your a physical summary and/or receipt but they said that would be emailed to me. when i made the appointment i was told i would receive an email where i could verify my appointment but i did not receive it. i literally just left the appointment so hopefully i'll receive something via email in the next couple days. i did verify my email & it is correct so that would be my only issue. what is more important though, is that i was taken care of & my medical issue has been addressed. all the staff here is great! my appointment took about an hour, maybe a little less. the young lady who checked me out/took my payment was also nice. thank you HK! read more

Elena Novak is just SO DAMN SMART. AND KIND!! Am a physician myself who had an acute development of a skin issue that 2 other dermatologists, 2 allergists, an infectious disease specialist and myself could not figure out. Unlike the others, Ms. Novak spent nearly an hour with me, took an extensive history, was the first one to actually closely examine all the lesions with a dermatoscope, and was the only MD who did a scraping and punch biopsy. Immediately just based on exam she immediately suspected a relatively uncommon non contagious, noninfectious time limited condition, and the biopsy helped to confirm it. She nailed the diagnosis just based on exam! Her bedside manner was also so reassuring and empathetic. Prior to seeing her, I was in agonizing discomfort for three weeks, had spent $500 on creams and medicines that didn't help, was miserable because the pain and itchiness would only let me sleep 2-3 hours a night, and couldn't work because I didn't want to expose patients or my family until I knew it wasn't infectious. Thanks to her, I felt so reassured and relieved even before the biopsy results came back, and thanks to her advice which actually DIDN'T involve more medicines, my condition is showing signs of turning a corner and I'm finally getting sleep again. I'm also so thankful for the staff, who were so empathetic, got me in the same day after I explained how much discomfort I was in, and loaded me up with hypoallergenic laundry detergent/cream samples. HK Dermotology is the best in Orange County by far!!! I am 45 years old and I am obsessed with skin care and skin health. I have visited their office at least five or six times within the past couple months to address some issues with basal cell cancer on my chest and neck as well as age spots, dull skin, acne scars etc. The surgery was painless and fast and it's only been a month or so and the scar is completely gone already!!!!! All of the doctors and staff are absolutely amazing, sweet and very caring! They have a very busy office yet they still try to accommodate me if I need to get squeezed in. I was prescribed some Tritonin, Bleaching cream and I bought Obaji Vitamin C 15%, as well as Doctor Kleins personal skin care line - Night repair cream. This review is extremely overdue. I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am to come across HK Dermatology. It was one of those late nights where I was feeling self conscious about the keloids on my back that I was browsing the Internet & SRT (superficial radiation therapy) for Keloids popped up. HK Dermatology is pretty much the only place that offers this service in SoCal. I immediately booked an appt. When I arrived, I met with Dr. Norma. Dr. Norma wanted to try a less invasive approach - steroid injections before we went with SRT. I didn't feel too confident about this bc I've gotten the injections before from 2 different dermatologists with little to no change. We got a second opinion from Dr. Klein who brainstormed with Dr. Norma to come up with the best approach. Fast forward 5 months later & my keloids are COMPLETLETLY flat! I can't believe it. The injections were painless as well which I couldn't believe either!! Dr. Norma combined the corticosteroid with another medication to make the injections completely painless & to give me the best results. I truly believe with Dr. Klein & Dr. Norma's experience, that they have so much knowledge & can always come up with the best solution for whatever skin problems you may have. If I could give more stars I would! I had a small cancerous tumor removed, they made the process incredibly comfortable and easy. Dr. Norma was an artist, no scar 6 weeks after healing (and it was on my forehead). Beware of duplicate bills! In the process of switching their payment system they've sent me bills that I've already paid. I know switching systems is no easy task but sending duplicate bills multiple times--months after the service was even done--is totally unacceptable. I also appreciate a doctor who can help me understand my problems and treatments. Dr. Klein was not this type of doctor and was always in a rush out the door and asking me to come in again rather than spend a minute talking to me. My arm still has a rash, I still don't know what it is, and I don't even know what it was they pumped into my arm three times trying to fix it. I'll certainly be going somewhere else in the future and hope Dr. Klein and his billing staff read this and make changes. read more

I have Kaiser insurance but I didn't want to hassle with them to check on a mole. I called this office and they were very friendly on the phone and in person they booked an apt for a few days out.. They offered a mole check where can do a spot check or whole body check for $125.00. I came in and the Dr and she was great. She made me feel comfortable. Dr Jeffrey Klein is a horrible excuse of a dr he is inhumane he has no compassion for his patients he has no bed side manor at all this man should not be a drhis license should be revoked and he should never be allowed to practice medicine again this dr did my liposuction back in 2011 he did a botched job on me that cost me $7000 then just recently my husband went to him for some skin conditions and to have some skin tags removed and he discriminated against my husband because my husband is overweight he told my husband that he did not have a table strong enough to hold him he then told my husband to stop eating how rude how dare he say that to a patient who does this dr think he is he discriminates against over weight people he thinks over weight people don't deserve the same treatment as people who are not over weight that is discrimination being over weight is not necessarily only from over eating it could be genetics too and certain medications can cause weight gain as well so to make that statement to stop eating was cruel and very unprofessional this dr is incompetent and he does horrible work he does not care if the patient is happy with his work all he cares about is the money bottom line he does not even deserve 1 star please whatever you do don't go to this dr stay away read more

My 6 years old get warts on his face and fingers . We went to a local dermatologist. He scared my son and told us he might need to remove his nail treat the warts . Then we find HK. The front desk linda and other staff are super nice when we arrived. Starting from nurse practitioner Alena, she was so patient. She told my son they will take care of it. Nothing to be scared. I went in for a full skin exam and some specific spots of particular concern. "Dr Norma" as she is known did a great job. Fast, efficient and very pleasant to deal with. I chose to have one spot surgically removed. She did it very quickly and I felt nothing. One week later and I was hard pressed to even see where the surgery had been done. I was encouraged to see Dr. Norma by a colleague of mine. I was having an issue with some pre-cancerous areas on my face. It did not seem a big deal to me, but when the scabs were not healing, my significant other insisted I see a dermatologist. Being a medical professional myself, it is always interesting being the patient instead of the physician, and I must tell you that this office passed with flying colors. The reception and assistants were all knowledgeable and efficient. Dr. Norma was very friendly, compassionate, and caring. She answered all of my questions, was not the least bit harried or hurried, and did a marvelous job reassuring me that everything would be taken care of. the visit itself was a fine experience. I had a mole removed... I was told by the doctor it would just be my co pay and the rest of it will be taken care by my insurance. I specifically asked otherwise I was going to hold off for a little while because of financial situations. I later got a bill for $110. Dr. Jeffery Klein of HK Dermatology, is the father of tumescent liposuction. And when it came time to quit delaying the inevitable (getting serious and tackling the extra pounds) weight that not only began creeping up in 2019, but when the Pandemic hit in March 2020, by April or May of that year, I gave myself permission to go nuts with indulgent snacking. And sugar became my best friend. I've always had a love affair with sugar and chocolate. Obviously, it was a one-sided love affair, and during 2020 - through 2021, my feeble attempts to undue the damage I was seeing in clothes that were much too tight, and hating what I saw in the mirror, I knew sooner-than-later I needed to get control over my bad habit. It would take a visit to my long-time dermatologist in Newport Beach, when I finally got the nerve to inquire if he knew of a very reputable doctor who performed liposuction. My doctor, highly recommended Dr. Jeffrey Klein of HK Dermatology in San Jan Capistrano, citing that Dr. Klein was the inventor of Tumescent Liposuction. After doing plenty of homework on the matter (Dr. Klein has not only trained countless plastic surgeons here in the U.S. but those from other countries too!), I am extremely glad that I chose him to perform these procedures - I had more than one done. Because, perhaps more than a few pounds that had registered on the scale, the extra weight was evenly distributed all across my body; from my flabby upper arms and all the way down across my chunky and jiggly stomach, abundant derrière, and massive thighs! My tumescent liposuctions procedures were evenly spaced out, and NOT all done at once. Nor, logically should they be. And I have nothing but very good things to say on behalf of Tumescent Lipo done by the master artist himself - Dr. Klein, as the results across my body, speak for themselves. Dr. Klein is a talented artist who wants the best for each of his patients! And his top-notch staff (a number of them have been working with him for years, and that kind of loyalty speaks volumes for the kind of doctor and man, Jeffrey Klein really is!) like, front-office personnel, Michel Horowitz, R.N. Practice Manager, and a surgical team member, Robin Bodkin, R.N. Perioperative Nurse, are just two of the many reasons that I would highly recommend why you should seriously consider, Dr. Jeffrey Klein. And your "Before, During, and After Care" treatment is carefully and professionally implemented. The patient's well being is ALWAYS taken in consideration. ** Did the results happen overnight? Well, no. And if you expect them to (and I'm no spring chicken!) wake -up! you are not being realistic. But my body did respond, and the inches came off followed by the pounds. As everyone is different when it comes to healing, perhaps the pounds will drop before the inches - who is to say? ** Did my husband notice as my shape really began to take shape? Hell yes! And after a number of years being married, it was nice to receive wolf whistles from him!! ** Did it hurt while healing? Yes. There was definite Soreness, but that WAS to be expected. Eventually, the soreness was a thing of the past, and the adits (the tiny holes from the lipo) faded away. I followed the Dr's. medical advice, and those of Robin Bodkin's too. Robin is a great source of information and a lovely person to pick her head. And if you are going to pick her head with questions, bring your own fork. LOL! Dr. Klein's Pre-Op, and Post-Op Instructions are all written down, and you will be well prepared on what to expect, and the morning of the procedure(s) and right before they happened, I was advised on what I might feel and what was to take place. Following the surgery (and you will be given a local and NOT a General Anesthesia, so you will be relaxed but NOT asleep.) I was sent home wearing a compression garment (think of a special-black leotard) and an elastic wrap garment over that for a specific time. Follow your Post-of instructions, and Dr. Klein, or/ and Robin will reach out to you to see how the healing is coming along. And any issues or questions, and the office will get back to you A.S.A.P. I was advised, that if I put back on the pounds, the weight will return, but not in the area that received the Tumescent Lipo, as the fat cells are permanently gone! And speaking of gone, so is that constant craving for sugar and chocolate. As I have no desire to put back on the pounds, and want to redo the liposuction! Besides, I like the way my younger skinner shape has returned to this older woman's body. LOL!! Now, let me give you three specific reasons I chose to go with Dr. Jeffrey Klein, versus another surgeon who performs regular Liposuction, or even one of the doctors he personally trained? 1. The office is clean and the entire staff really makes you feel welcome, comfortable and that you are their top priority. I have been going to Dr. Klein, MD and his team for over 10 years. Recently, I went to him for a MOHS surgery to remove a cancerous spot on my face. It healed beautifully and you can't even tell. A few weeks later I got (what I thought) was an allergic reaction from a toxic plant that I came in contact with me in the yard. I first saw Dr. Norma Kassardjian, MD who I have also seen many times over the years (excellent MD.). She brought in Dr. Klein for a second opinion and they quickly came to the conclusion that it was Shingles! I was shocked because I am in my 50s and I thought I was too young to have it. But, I was wrong. Dr. Klein quickly educated me that if you have had the chickenpox, some people are susceptible to it later in life... Lucky me! After prescribing me an anabiotic he recommended a new Tumevir Injection Treatment that he has pioneered and developed that reduces the pain and virus break out immediately. Within 3-4 weeks it was almost gone! Most people can suffer from shingles for many months at a time. I highly recommend Dr. Klein for any dermatology issues whether it's shingles, pre-cancerous issues, allergies, etc. I can't think Dr. Klein and his team enough for getting me through this crisis! I have been a long time patient. I went to them this time(my last time!) for skin rashes that were very troublesome. I met with a P.A. , not the doctor. I was prescribed prednisone and topical ointment and told to make a follow up visit. Thats where the trouble started. While trying to schedule a follow up over the phone, I spoke with a woman who asked what I wanted to come in for . Apparently my answer wasn't good enough for her . She wanted a better explanation, but since I'm not a medical person ,I struggled to describe it to her satisfaction.I tried to tell her it was a follow up appointment that I was instructed to make . Still not good enough.( I had her on speakerphone so my spouse overheard it all. She said that woman really gave you a hard time!) This went on , and I got frustrated and signed off. So, I found a different dermatologist and immediately noticed far better treatment ( they create an actual plan as opposed to spot treatment) and so far much better results. I met with a doctor instead of a PA. In fairness, I think Dr. Norma is excellent as was the PA I met with. Both seemed caring and deeply interested in my condition. Dr. Klein seemed apathetic and only superficially interested. Again in fairness, I emailed the office manager with an invitation to discuss this situation and after 4-5 days I have not received a call or email, so I posted this review. read more
