I was excited to find a familiar coffee shop that wasn't Starbucks. I have a Human Bean next to me in Tempe and love their coffee products. I picked up my coffee drink and appreciated the great customer that I always get from these guys. The Human Bean got their start in Oregon. They are known for their hand-crafted espresso drinks and fruit-infused smoothies. Every drink is topped with a white chocolate espresso bean. All of their locations have a double drive-thru or you can walk up to the window. You order directly from the barista and not through an intercom. The baristas are usually high energy and personable. The Granita is a my favorite and is Human Bean's biggest seller.

It truly doesn't look like much when you're driving by. My husband and sons are ALL very well versed in caffeination, like 4 espresso shots per drink and multiple drinks per day! This place is amazing! They don't over roast their beans? They brew in a way that reduces the inherent bitterness of espresso or coffee. They use quality syrups and flavorings. They work quickly and efficiently to keep you moving on but looking forward to coming back. From the outside, it looks like everybody is very well trained and happy to be there. The interior inside is so warm and welcoming, and they even have a small little corner with fun knick-knacks. They have a variety of drinks and pastries available. We ended up ordering a Sugar-Free Hazelnut Brittle Latte and Flat White, along with an Everything Bagel and a Cheddar Bagel. The bagels were very filling and delicious. The coffee here is great! While folks working there have always been very polite, they are too focused on their behind the counter tasks like inventory, stocking, etc., and chit chat. They are also in a big hurry to take the order, but seem to almost always get it wrong. I would be less upset if we were talking about a $2 cup of coffee, but we never walk out for less than $12 for two coffees. To date we are out approx $60 total due to the errors. Really a simple fix ! Just pay attention to what the customer orders, pause your behind the counter tasks until the customer is satisfied. It should not be a responsibility of the customer to verify the end product/quality control. Pause the chit chat until the customers order is complete. We will be changing to dutch bros and dunkin.
