The cream on top of the pie was yummy, but the cake part of the "pie" was real dry. Kinda dense and hard. The cookie was the yummiest thing but I was pretty disappointed when she handed it to me and I realized it was cold. Why am I spending $5+ on a cold semi-hard, medium sized cookie? The ice cream was the worst though, it was like 1% raspberry and 99% super strong coconut flavor. The service was fine except the girl working there was just hiding in the back until she heard us come in and then she retreated to the back again after we ordered. Full disclosure, if I call it the desert collective anywhere throughout this review, please understand that I cannot wrap my head around which one is a desert and which one is a dessert. Okay, moving on. The Dessert Collective is in a centralized location that makes it perfect for an after dinner treat, snack while shopping, place to meet up with a friend, and so much more. Upon entering, I noticed that they have partnered with quite a few businesses to offer these treats; they are all local businesses in a relatively close proximity to each other. The one bummer to this is that the Dessert Collective was out of stock for a majority of the things on the menu. I got the brownie from Taste as my choice of dessert. It was really rich and decadent. I loved the powdered sugar over the top as it added even more flavor to the brownie. The raspberries were good but it was originally supposed to come with strawberries and I think I may have liked strawberries more. My one recommendation for anyone thinking about visiting the Dessert Collective is to stop by when you are in the area. I don't necessarily think it is worth it to come over to this area just for the Dessert Collective but I think it is an awesome stop while you are passing by or in the area. read more

I have to say this place was very disappointing. Our original idea for dessert fell through so we ended up here. It was very different than what I thought. It's basically just a cashier with desserts in a fridge. Now I don't know how old the desserts are but the one that I got didn't seem fresh. The idea is good. We saw this cute new place and decided to try it out for our anniversary dessert! We ordered 1 coconut cream with coconut flakes and cocoa nibs, 1 chocolate moulton cake, and a lemon bar pie. Let's talk about the coconut cream first. Holy smokes. I want this every single day. I think I would do no cocao nibs next time just because I like the light sweetness of the coconut cream and the bibs are a little too bitter for what I want, but again that was my choice so I now for next time. I'm not sure if you've ever tried another local business, "Vampire Penguin" but they do shaved milk which is similar but the coconut cream is next level in texture and freshness! Both comparable but so excited to find a df/gf option! The chocolate moulton cake was yummy as well! I will say that there wasn't much cake, at least in mine. There was a thin cake consistency on top and then the bottom was just oooey gooey pudding. I did like the contrast of the two textures and would have loved a little more cake. The cake itself had more of a butter taste and the pudding was more sweet so if there was more cake I feel like it would have been even more balanced. Yum! For the lemon bar review, I didn't eat it my husband did and he said it was good! A man of few words so I'm sorry there's not much more to that. We tried decadent chocolate cheesecake, a delicious maple cinnamon bun and a real hit the smores with apples and caramel sauce. I chose the coconut non dairy ice cream and it was creamy and flavorful with the only drawback being no lids for take out so I held it carefully on our drive home! So we got to get our own thing without having to make multiple stops :) We tried the cacao coconut cream and the key lime pie. YUM! My boyfriend gets key lime everywhere and his words for this was "This key lime's legit!" And the cacao coconut cream was like eating cold chocolate air! Most of their desserts were sold out and the stuff they advertised on their instagram was not the same as what they had on their menu. I had the chocolate lava cake and the coconut ice cream. The lava cake was advertised as made to order so I was so excited to get a fresh hot cake. When it was brought out the cup was warm but the cake itself was cold? It made no sense I could barely touch the cup it was in. The ice cream had an off texture almost like eating cotton. The staff was amazing however and super friendly.
