I have used The Detail Shop on 2 occasions and the results were outstanding. Four days ago I took another vehicle there for a full detail (inside and outside). The results were much less than satisfactory. When I took the vehicle home I needed to wipe it down with a towel to get the grime out of the creases. Then my 74 year old girl friend got on her hands and knees to wipe off grunge on both front doors that John (works at Detail Shop) said wouldn't come off. I had also mentioned that the rear window needed a thorough cleaning. But it seems they just smeared what was on the widow around and made a mess. We could have had much better results at a drive through carwash at a fraction of the cost. We will never be back to The Detail Shop. read more

Just picked up my car after leaving it with Marco for the day. When I left it this morning it was really dirty inside and out. Because of the angle and size of the windshield I was unable to clean the inside so it was a mess. The steering wheel was covered with lotion and body oils, the leather seats needed conditioning, door jambs needed cleaning, exterior needed wax, etc. In short, it was a big job but Marco managed to make the car look like new. I took my car to Tom and Jay at The Detail Shop. I built the car in 1985 and after several years of driving it, it spent the last 13 years parked in my driveway. Even though I had kept it covered (most of the time) the finish was badly oxidized. The Detail Shop brought the gelcoat finish back to life, and that is an understatement. Hello, I bought this Black Range Rover and went up camping in the mountains, like most men with a new 4 wheel drive i felt the need to take it off road and scratched both sides of the truck Arghh. I am not a car professional by any means, but that is why I took my truck to Mark at The Detail Shop. I went on a walk through down town Benicia while the truck was getting buffed out and polished. I got a call three hours latter from Mark telling me the work was done. He drove down town to pick up my girlfriend and I. The trucked looked wet, amazing work, it was better then new. Mark went above and beyond on my ride and It would have been a steal at twice the price. I would highly recommend this business for anyone in SF, Walnut Creek, Concord. I was quoted 700+ by two different people and was getting a little pissed at my decision to go big lol, however there are still people who are willing to let there work speak for its self, and with a very fair price; Mark is one of them. Terrible service. I have vinyl stripes on my car and half of them are ruined now. Looks exactly like they started putting it on and said oops. I took it back to him and he stated it was probably the clear coat sealer he uses. Well his fix was to cover the rest of the vinyl with what ever screwed it up in the first place. Instead of setting up something to fix it, I have to call everyday and when he's not busy he will look into it? Really? Don't stand behind your work? Spent over 2 hours getting my front billet grill back into shape. Still have not figured out what he used on it. Tires had so much tire black or what ever on the tires, had to wipe the car down when I got it home it was all over the car. I called and asked if he could wash my car, but when I got there was paying for a clay job, wax, sealer etc... about 4 times more than expected. Took my husband's car in today for the interior detailing package. It's been sitting for 2 solid years now, and was pretty dirty even before then. Typical commuter car, with spilled coffee residue and all. I can't believe how extreme the improvement is after picking it up today! Previously, we've always had seat covers in the front because the seats looked so old and stained - I'm happy to say that I will not be buying seat covers this time around. There's no longer a need to cover them up! Also, I pulled up before the car was finished, and saw him cleaning the outside of the windows... and all I had asked for was interior detailing. Definitely worth every penny I paid, plus I feel like I got more than I paid for! I can't remember the name of the guy who took care of me and our car, but he was professional and friendly.
