We initially were trying to go to the speakeasy below The Devil's Acre, but they were closed because of the live DJ for Valentine's Day at this bar! It was a fun and unexpected twist to our night out hearing love songs and dance floor favorites being mixed by the DJ they were hosting. My espresso martini was wonderful and the pour of whiskey was great. The only downside was that two of the whiskeys that we tried to order off the menu, they did not have on-hand anymore. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the city that fall under the same umbrella or ownership group as others. That doesn't necessarily guarantee the experience at one will mirror those of another, but Bourbon and Branch is one of my favorite bars of all time, and knowing the same group also owns Devil's Acre tickled curiosity. Followed them a while on Instagram and it seemed the vibe, while unlike B&B in many ways, had some familiarity also. A strong vintage vibe with an impressively thoughtful and creative drink list, and awesome staff. I was pleased to find, when I finally made it by yesterday, that I liked everything about the place. I love anywhere I can stop in and have great conversations about drinks or music, so I will most certainly be back soon and often. read more

The bartender did not know how to make an off-menu drink and was pretty rude about it. I asked for an espresso martini but with vodka (theirs said rum on the menu) and he just said no...I asked if they ran out of espresso? He said no, it's pre-infused and "vodka sucks anyways". Okayyy I asked if he could instead make some kind of cocktail that's citrusy with tequila and maybe some bitters. He gave me a glass with 3 ingredients -- tequila, lime juice, and bitters. A fun stop for drinks! I was able to be seated with 8 on a Friday evening with no issues. This place is great to hang out with friends/family over a drink with minimal effort because table service is provided. Our server was very helpful and gave recommendations. I love that Devil's Acre has multiple egg white drinks. Their menu is printed in a vintage style pamphlet with unique drink names. It makes you feel like you're in an upscale bar. I absolutely love the Devil's Acre. I hadn't gone pre covid but we've been a few times now and I love all their drink varieties. I've tried the piña colada which is honestly a random drink to get but they make them so fresh and delicious that when I saw it on Instagram I had to get it. I also tried the espresso martini and the jalapeño strawberry margarita and the margarita was just perfect. It wasn't to spicy. We also tried the furikake fries with a aioli dip and they were great. They made a lot of outdoor space with what looks like booths but they have lots of options with various size tables. It gets packed so I suggest making reservations. read more

COVID outdoor review. They have pretty nice parklets for outdoor seating that are sectioned off with dividers per table. The area is pretty great at night and its a good time here. The waiters here bring a lot in terms of what this bar has to offer. They are super friendly and nice and will remind you of the good times joking around with a bartender. Their drinks are okay - more on the strong side. So definitely come here on an occasion where you plan on really drinking and not for an intimate date night drink sort of thing. read more

My group of 6 came on Halloween night and we were all very impressed. They have half a block of outdoor seating. From tables of 2-6. Reserve a table or come early (8pm or earlier). After my group was seating a long lime started forming. Most tables have a mini fire in the middle. This was both authentic and warm. The trees were wrapped with lights. Tables were clean. TV available for outdoor seating. Staff were attentive and nice. The bar is located in the not as crowded North Beach area so not too rowdy. Food and drink menu with their own QR codes taped to the tables. Order with staff. Can't wait to come back again! read more

Visited The Devil's Acre for an early evening cocktail before the second round of outdoor dining shutdowns. The Devil's Acre has beautifully built out parklets. They've transformed outdoor dining into a lovely, peaceful experience. We had a group of 6 and the tables were packed, but a very kind couple offered to move to a smaller spot so that we could take their table. It was such a nice gesture! I ordered a Lavender cocktail with sparkling wine, lavender, lemon, and gin. It was delicious. My friends ordered hot toddies and loved them too. The fries were flavorful and warm on a chilly day. The servers were incredibly kind and funny. This is such a special North Beach spot! I'll be sure to visit again when it's safe to do so. read more

Very cool trendy bar. There are many in the financial district but this place stood out to me. The atmosphere is great with some classic tunes in the background. The barkeep know their stuff as it's reflected in their creative drinks. Very clean and nice inside. Great drink menu with a variety of cocktails or just tell them what you're in the mood for and they'll come up with an amazing concoction for you. I'm pretty disappointed at what Devil's Acre had become. 6 years ago it was an amazing place with a very extensive cocktail menu. Drinks like St. Croix was were so delicious. At the time the bartenders could even make lemon-lime, orange, and root beer soda. Then you could get those spiked with vodka, rum, or your choice of spirit. I brought so many people to have root beer + mt gay rum, or orange + vodka. I went here the past weekend and their drink menu now consists of ... a dozen cocktails? All uninspired and generic. I tried asking for a rum based drink with pineapple juice and the bartender just looked at me and said: "I don't know. How about a rum and pineapple juice?". This place is no longer the cocktail haven it used to be. Only go here if you want a beer or a rum/coke type of drink. read more

Devil's Acre is a nice place to stop if you're barhopping around North Beach/Telegraph Hill/Chinatown. While they don't have the most extensive list of cocktails, I enjoy their strawberry margaritas which are garnished with jalapeños. Sadly they aren't spicy, just rather sweet and have that slight jalapeño flavor that still make the cocktail enjoyable. Sipping on some of these and some shots is a chill and enjoyable time- if you're sitting outside. It gets very, very loud inside of Devil's Acre to the point of not being able to hear the people you're with. At the very least though, the music I've heard in my handful of visits has been pretty great. But even outside, I found myself speaking louder than normal so my friends and I could hear each other. I think my expectations of a cocktail bar clash with the place also being a club/venue. Perhaps I'll get some earplugs for the next time I'm picking up a cocktail here. read more

This is place a great spot. I do not know why it took me so long to find and experience. Not only do they have great selection of drinks to make and also bottles to buy. Soooooo I was dying to come to Devil's Acre for so long, it was totally not what I expected! It's like a neighborhood bar, BUT with old antique flare, not a bad vibe at all. It has an old wood work bar; Ad someone else mentioned, totally Disney-ish and not in a bad way. It seems like some hidden bar you would stop off on Main Street In DL LOL. It has that charm about it... wallpaper, an old brick wall, dim lighting, old antique oil lamps strune throughout. It has a pool table & table seating in the center area, which steps down from the bar top area. Total Roger Rabbit bar- perfect description haha! So they make a lot of their own stuff there, for instance they infuse their own brown butter gin, WUUUUT, yeah, I said BROWN BUTTER GIN folks. Really enjoyed! It's in the heart of the city so to speak with lots of diversity all around. I found parking close i posted a picture below, pretty reasonable. We stopped by Devil's Acre for drinks late on a Friday night. The space wasn't too full but we did need to wait a long time to place our orders. We came here after hearing that Devil's Acre has one of the best Paloma's in the area. The Paloma lived up to the buzz -- it was absolutely delicious! Despite being a slushy drink (which usually I stray away from) the drink was a hit. Next time I'll have to ask for a non-slushy Paloma to see if it's more stellar. The music was a bit obscure. The atmosphere was very classy/vintage but the music went from pop to classic rock to electronic all within 20 min-- very all over the place. read more

Post dinner at the Stinking Rose, Devil's Acre was a great place to end the night. Luckily for us there was live music playing and it was relatively empty on a Wednesday night so we had prime seating for our large group. Loved the decor of the place as well and similar to other craft cocktail bars in SF the place is dim with candle lighting. They have a cute menu with their speciality cocktails but be sure to look in the book since I just looked at the small menu card on the table so I missed a couple. I ordered the Salty Junipero and it was strong. They are not light on the salt with this one so it definitely lives up to its name! This is the type of bar that makes you feel like you stepped into another decade in time. The dark and wooden pieces warmed by candle-lit on each table eludes an intimate and romantic setting. Upon entering, the bartender offered us menus over at the bar right away. The list of libations are a class on their own with various specialty cocktails. I went for a Bourbon cocktail on their menu, which mirrored an Old Fashioned ($12). The drink was smokey and strong --exactly the way I like it. While we spent most of our time in a secluded table, the bartenders were fun and conversational while we ordered our drinks upfront. Overall, loved the ambiance of this place. This place looks like a Disney bar...like a mashup of the Little Mermaid and Haunted Mansion. I love the wallpaper, the old school oil lamps on the tables, and the sunken floor with seating that lets you snuggle next to someone. However I had higher expectations for the cocktails, and the music was too loud for the amount of people there.
