I had to try this place after saw you get cinnamon roll as a side cause I love my sweets. On Devine St little ways up the hill from 5 Points Columbia SC. This restaurant is very close to 5 points and roads can be closed off for city events as it was for me Saturday morning, check traffic before leaving. The exterior building can be missed if you don't have exact address. It is a small building at back of a driveway. There is a To Go & Order counter, I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches don't recall the names (on receipt). The pic doesn't do it justice was loaded with generous portion and a cinnamon roll for $7.89 per. This side idea is so original this business is bound to soar, gotta check it out when in town.

I was only in town for one night so I scoped out where to eat before skipping town. We got a late checkout and headed to The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli. I was aware of the hype/lines and was hoping that going a little later would help us avoid that. It turned out I was right because there was still a line but it moved pretty quick and we easily grabbed a table to settle in for brunch. We wanted to try a little bit of everything so we kinda did. We may have gone a little overboard, but we took stuff home and were happy to have it later. Here's what we got... Strawberry Cheesecake cinnamon roll - the sweet to our savory! This thing really was divine as well as massive. It was great having a couple bites of something else and then indulging in the gooey cinnamon roll. While I'd love to try the other flavors it would be tough to skip out on this one. Green Eggs & Ham breakfast sandwich - If Dr. Seuss was talking about pesto on the eggs then I think Sam I Am would have chowed down because this sandwich was excellent. Lowcountry Shrimp & Grits - looks like a small portion but it's packed in there and just as good as some of the best shrimp and grit plates I've had in Charleston. Tomato Basil soup - very good flavor and extra hearty and thick. It could be a meal on its own. Sides - we didn't realize that all the things came with mini cinnamon rolls so we had a bunch of those and the pita chips to take home too. Being that it was our first time, we definitely over indulged, but it was well worth it. Since our visit, I've probably sent 5 people there singing their praises and I can't wait to go back myself.

Who does cinnamon rolls right? Hands down, there is no equal--The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli! The dough in the rolls are rich and baked to perfection. So many gooey and delicious toppings; we always go with the bourbon caramel. Satisfied customers and friendly service are icing on the roll. But wait! You crave savory? An extensive menu of breakfast sandwiches and grits bowls! I get the feeling that the deli folks would try to accommodate any special request. The deli is In a humble building with a rustic ambiance and a limited parking lot, but trust me, I could eat breakfast here every week all year; it's that good! Bravo deli!

The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli is an institution and for good reason. The food is solid. The staff are great. The place is super chill and welcoming. I had the Farmhouse Breakfast sandwich and it was solid. The eggs and the breakfast sausage were a tad under seasoned and the bagel lacked a little something that I just couldn't figure out. The sandwich definitely hit the spot after my morning run and as you can tell by the cheese pull, it was great! Also, I got a mini cinnamon roll with my order. Not sure if that's the norm or not but it was GREAT! Parking is a situation so be mindful that you might have to walk a bit but it's worth it!

Another great trip to cinnamon roll deli. My family was in town visiting my sister in Columbia and we stopped by for breakfast. This has been a must have breakfast stop (even with the lines) every time we visit. We tried the seasonal pumpkin caramel cinnamon roll and it was so moist and flavorful. Also ordered the Big Max sandwich on everything bagel and that was incredible as well. Their sandwiches all come with a cinnamon roll on the side, so you can enjoy sweet along with your savory sandwich.

The Cinnamon Roll Deli was pretty good! I'm glad that I got there early, because by the time I left, there was a line around the corner! I guess that's a pretty solid testament to how good the restaurant is. My cinnamon rolls were excellent - they were soft, gooey, warm, and delicious! My coffee and everything bagel were alright, but left a little bit to be desired. Also, the staff was extremely nice and friendly, and I loved the overall vibe of the restaurant. It seems like the perfect place to grab a warm and sweet breakfast while supporting a local business!

Cannot believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. For starters, the parking lot is super small. Just keep that in mind. Anyway, I never have to wait in line for too long. There is a MASSIVE menu. I normally stick to the Low Country Grits bowl and one of their gourmet rolls. The grits are always super flavorful. The cinnamon rolls on the other hand, are superb. I've had the banana foster, apple cobbler, and bacon maple rolls. Thus far, the maple bacon roll has been my consistent go to.

This place is great. Came on 2 different occasions and both times were amazing. Great breakfast and lunch menu and of course their cinnamon rolls are great. Here's a tip, if you order a breakfast, you will get a basic cinnamon roll with your order. Everyone is nice and helpful

The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli was super busy on a Sunday morning! They appeared to have many regulars and the staff knew several of the patrons by name. The interior had lots of mismatched art on the walls and some seating. They also had an outdoor seating area in the front, covered by a tent. I ordered the The Buffalo Turkey Sandwich and a Banana Foster Cinnamon Roll to-go, and service was impressively quick. I didn't realize that my sandwich already came with a mini Cinnamon Roll, so I ended up with two. The Buffalo Turkey Sandwich was decent, but incredibly messy to eat. I chose my eggs "over easy" and they were super runny, especially combined with the buffalo sauce. The sourdough didn't really taste like sourdough either, but it was hard to tell since it quickly became soggy. I did enjoy the generous amount of turkey though, and the sandwich was quite filling! Both Cinnamon Rolls were very tasty. The Banana Foster Roll was especially decadent and I didn't come close to finishing it. Overall though, a cute spot - would return to try more items!

We've been here 3 or 4 times now. My husband lives the grits, protein & scrambled egg bowls, I tried it once and thought it was just okay, but I grew up in shrimp & grits and southern breakfast food, so I think it's just not my thing. The cinnamon rolls were decent; don't tell- but I prefer Cinnabon because the icing isn't as sweet- and they're warm & gooey. This last time I had the breakfast sandwich: the sourdough bread was cheap with no flavor or chew, and the pesto basil spread was in a mayonnaise base. Pesto doesn't have mayo in it folks. I'll pass.

Service is amazing, they greet you as you enter the place and give you a seat if you choose to sit inside. The ambience is really cute, a lot of pictures which show how famous the place really is. Now the food is absolutely amazing, I got the big pig on everything bagel and I cannot wait to go back. I also got an apple crumble cinnamon roll and it was so warm and amazing it really was a treat!

Downright amazing food. I knew that the sandwiches come with a mini cinnamon roll but that didn't stop me from ordering the maple bacon roll. I will definitely be back My only caution is that it does get pretty hot inside during the summer so make sure you dress accordingly

Devine is the name of the street, but the intended implication is clear. When I arrived there was indeed a significant line despite it not being the greatest weather. I was offered the chance to skip the line and get takeout, which I took and which was reasonably quick. While there were a variety of options, this was not a place that offered a ton of vegetarian-friendly or healthy breakfast food. That's not why you come. So I just got a cinnamon roll with bourbon caramel sauce. The flavor was as indulgent as one might hope, and it was quite large so I ate part of it immediately while the caramel was still hot and part of it at the national park to the south. I don't always eat cinnamon rolls for breakfast, but I couldn't imagine them delivering a whole lot more on the premise.

I want to start by saying that this place IS WORTH THE WAIT!! A lot of the reviews talk about long waits, and they are not exaggerating. We waited nearly 45 minutes and by the looks of things, I think we beat the rush. But, like I said, totally worth it. We had a group of four and we ordered the apple cobbler cinnamon roll to share, kind of as an appetizer, but mostly because we all wanted to try a specialty cinnamon roll but not actually have it has our meal, because we each wanted a breakfast sandwich (more on that in a bit)! This cinnamon roll, y'all, it was amazing. I don't even consider myself a huge cinnamon roll fan (I prefer savory breakfasts), but y'all, this thing was good. It wasn't nearly as huge as some of these reviews make it sound but it is definitely big, maybe like 3x the size of your average cinnamon roll. It was the perfect size for all four of us to get a few bites, satisfy our curiosity, and hold us over until our sandwiches came. I ordered the big kahuna, my boyfriend and our friends all got the palmetto. Both sandwiches were delicious! I really liked the corn beef on the kahuna and the bbq sauce on the palmetto really made the sandwich. Each sandwich also came with a normal sized cinnamon roll, as if we needed any more sugar! We were visiting for the A&M vs USC football game and I am so glad we found this place, it's truly a gem! If I'm ever back in Columbia I will definitely be making a second trip to The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli! read more

This is a great little breakfast place that is always crowded with the community. I arrived bright and early on a Friday morning around 7:20am and every parking spot was already taken. Now granted the parking lot is VERY small. Also, there is a large hill going in and out of the parking lot so if you have a low car like I do you will be scrapping the bottom of your car =/. On a different note, the food = five stars. It's simple but just tastes so much better than home. I got the Big Max which is egg, cheese, bacon, and whole grain mustard. The mustard gives it a kick and a different taste which is very good. Every entree comes with a mini cinnamon bun and this is the best part of the meal. Their cinnamon buns are covered in cream cheese icing and they are amazing. Overall, loved the visit. Next time I come I will park on a side street and walk the distance just not to deal with the craziness of the parking. I will also probably get some of those mini cinnamon buns to go! read more

Cinnamon Roll Deli is one of the best "hidden gems" in Columbia. If you've been once you know how great it is and you'll be back as often as possible. The menu is huge, offering everything from sandwiches and salads to hotdogs and soup. The key here (major finesse alert) is to do the pick 2 combo. You get to choose from any half sandwich (specialty or build your own), a hotdog, a panini, soup or small nachos. On top of all of that you still get a side of devine chips AND a mini cinnamon roll all for $8-9! this is such a deal because most of these items by themselves (still with chips and mini roll) cost around $7-8! I could talk about the sandwiches, because they are all great, but let's talk about the Devine Chips. They are divine (pun intended) little pita-like chips that are tossed in Italian herbs/spices and sprinkled with parmesan and romano cheeses. These things are seriously addictive, and sometimes i look forward to eating these more than the actual food! Just do yourself a favor and go give them a try, go early though because they are only open Tuesday to Sunday from 7am - 2pm! Travelling through on our way to TN and stopped here based on what I read on Yelp. Glad we did. Food was fantastic, service was great... very friendly staff. Our group of 3 had the Big Pig, the Big Kahuna and a BYO (build your own). My husband and I shared a bourbon and pecan sticky bun. We agreed it was the best cinnamon bun we've ever had!!! Definitely worth the stop. Loved the artwork for sale that was on display on the walls. Also loved the fact that they had pictures of kitties and dogs that were needing foster care and/or were up for adoption. Had info on how you could become a foster "parent". read more

If you love breakfast, then this place is a must! My Family and I were in town for a short trip and were recommended here by a local - it did not disappoint! First, know that whatever you order more than likely comes with a homemade cinnamon roll, so you will get to try their flagship roll in miniature form! We went straight for the sweet, spicy, salty, savory black pepper bacon maple roll and it ruined cinnamon rolls for us for the rest of our lives - so amazing!! We also enjoyed their veggie breakfast sandwich and fully loaded grit bowls...all god which with a cup of coffee, friendly staff, and great atmosphere made for the perfect breakfast experience! Cannot wait till we can return here again and definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for an amazing and well-priced breakfast experience!! The Profane Cinnamon-less Lump. Perhaps the rest of the menu is amazing, but I ordered the namesake item: the Original Cinnamon Roll. For the ridiculous number of calories I'm imagining I'm eating, it was one of the least indulgent experiences I've ever had. Couldn't really taste cinnamon, and was there even sugar in this? I tasted coconut but no cinnamon... in my cinnamon roll... Processed, packaged cinnamon rolls from the gas station are waaaay better. read more

Great food! Consistently delicious. Absolutely the best pick up food in Devine. You can't be in a hurry though, because even with an online order in advance, you will still need to wait in line with all of the other pick ups who ordered in advance. I waited ten minutes for an order that was "ready" 20 minutes ago. COMPLETELY WORTH IT! Just plan in advance. :) read more

AWESOME place. You get so much food for so cheap, and the food is great, too! Upon walking in, there's a really large menu. If you can't find something you like, you can always build your own sandwich. I had a breakfast sandwich (I forgot the name) with two eggs, bacon, cheese, and sourdough bread. It was so good! It was a little oily, but it didn't feel heavy the way fastfood often does. Everything you order comes with a mini cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was great, too! Although I have a horrible sweet tooth, I wouldn't want a large cinnamon roll for just myself; the cinnamon rolls could've been cooked a little further, but they were still pretty good. One thing I didn't like, though. I asked my cashier if I could have coffee, and she gave me the larger cup without asking which size I wanted. I ended up paying more than I wanted to, even though the menu is pretty cheap. The coffee wasn't bad. I had the "Southern pecan" coffee and it was pretty good. read more

Best service. The owner is a goddess of customer service and the employees follow suit. I always get the grits bowl, but have only been able to go on weekends so I've only tried the pimento cheese grits; not surprisingly, they're good! Oh, and the cinnamon rolls. They're the best I've ever had, hands down. Get here early if you go on the weekend! read more

I like the concept of this place. You can get freshly made cinnamon rolls with any topping under the sun on them. They also serve a wide variety of other desserts, breakfast items, hotdogs, and sandwiches. You can even enjoy a mimosa or a beer if you're in the mood. I ordered the bourbon caramel cinnamon roll and paid extra for pecans (which I did not get unfortunately). Aside from the missing pecan disappointment, the first bite of the cinnamon roll was amazing. The bourbon pecan sauce added a really nice touch to it. However, the middle of my cinnamon roll wasn't done and it was mushy (kind of gag worthy). If it wasn't for that, I would say this would have likely have been the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. I also ordered the poblano cheese grits. I was afraid of this at first, because it sounded like it could easily just be grits with disgusting movie theater nacho cheese... But it was the complete opposite. It was grits with fresh cheese and peppers cut up in it... And it tasted great. It had a lot of flavor, and I would definitely order this again. I wish that I was able to enjoy a meat option along with this, but they do not have pork alternatives even though turkey bacon is listed on the menu. They also have amazing customer service. Excellent quality sandwiches. This place was lined up with young people and locals which is always a good sign. We both got the roast beef. Clearly a hangover cure spot;). Tomato soup was also good. Decided to take myself out to brunch this Sunday. I love brunch but rarely go because all of the good brunch places are always slammed in Columbia. I've heard good things about the Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli and decided to give it a try because the fat kid that lives in my stomach loves cinnamon rolls. What I didn't realize until I got there is that there are different types and flavors of cinnamon rolls! I ordered a single serving of the Strawberry Cheesecake roll and it was enough for at least 2 people. It was sweet and gooey but didn't taste syrupy like some strawberry flavored desserts tend to be. I also ordered the patty melt sans grilled onions with their homemade sauce and it was delicious as well, but since I was eating by myself and I had killed an entire cinnamon roll already I could only eat half. Bread was nicely toasted, cheese was nice and melty and the beef was very flavorful. Thank goodness for Togo boxes. The pita chips were freshly baked and complemented there sandwich very well. Can't wait to go back and try other flavors of cinnamon roll! 4/21/18 Update: Met a friend here for brunch today and had the Big D and we split a Bourbon Caramel Roll (our fave!). The line was out the door when I got there, but the line moved relatively quickly and the owner was bringing people menus and chatting with folks while we were in line which was nice. I love the Big D! I get it with Italian bread and with the eggs scrambled. The garlic spread is the perfect finishing touch. The owner is very hands-on and you can tell she is very personally vested in the quality of the food and customer satisfaction which is part of the reason why this place is so popular! read more

** Stop yelping breakfast suggestions and just come here. It's hard to perfectly put into words how great this place is. From the variety of sandwiches and cinammon rolls, to the friendliness and kindness of the owner that permeates to each employee we encountered this week. I came in a few minutes after 10:00 a.m., the time they open, and while I don't expect a restaurant to be in tip-top shape the second they open, they did not seem at all ready for the day or to accept customers. I stood at the front for a few awkward moments before asking one of the hostesses if I was supposed to seat myself, when she replied "oh no, I'll seat you", and then led me to one of the nearby tables. Somewhat grossly, the tablecloth on the table I was seated at was covered with coffee stains from previous guests, which was kind of unsettling. I then asked for a cup of coffee, and was told that there wasn't any ready, and that I would need to wait a few minutes. Again, not a huge deal, but I would expect a breakfast restaurant to have some coffee ready by the time that they open. Second, when perusing the menu, I was not particularly impressed by their "limited breakfast" options, nor anything on their regular menu. I decided to go with a simple hot dog, and substituted the offered sides with an order of French fries, which ridiculously cost me almost $4 extra. In addition, my hot dog was fine, but nothing exceptional, and definitely not better than one I could've gotten at Costco for a markedly cheaper price. The one (1) bright spot was that the fries were very good, and of higher quality than most other fries I've gotten at similar restaurants. Finally, my server was nice enough, but a little rough around the edges and not overly attentive. In addition, the ambiance was pretty basic, with nothing about it that really stuck out. All-in-all, I wouldn't be adverse to returning to DiPratos on a Saturday or Sunday to try their breakfast menu, but I won't be coming back during the week, and wouldn't really recommend that anybody else do so either.

As a longterm associate at the CRD, I have known the owners for a significant amount of time. In that time, I've known them to go above and beyond to ensure that not only their customers but also their staff is well-fed, healthy, and happy. They make it very clear that this establishment has no room for nonsense, including racism (as claimed in another review). The staff serves all food with the same love, no matter size, gender, or race. As a stand-alone business during COVID, we are very grateful for all the customers who understand how troubling these times can be for anyone in the restaurant business, and we further appreciate those who cooperate with the way our business has to operate to ensure the health and safety of our customers and staff during busy times. Been coming here nearly every Sunday for a year, and there's a reason why I keep coming back. The ever-present Jody and her friendly staff are always warm, receptive and attentive - even when the place is packed! Me and my lady usually get the Big Max on an Everything Bagel with a side of pimento cheese grits. It never disappoints. The cinnamon roll coffee is another favorite of mine, and we love that the meals come with a mini cinnamon roll! It's a popular place, so it's understandable that will be busy. We're night people so we usually roll in around 1:30pm and still get wonderful service. A plus, sometimes they even send us packing with a few more cinnamon rolls to-go as they are closing up. Anytime I have friends in town for the weekend, I always recommend we go to Cinnamon Roll Deli for Sunday Bunday! Will be back again soon. read more

Oh no I can't rate 10 stars?! Let me start off by saying what a breath taking dining room this is, great color scheme and not to mention all of this beautiful artwork! You can really see the time and dedication put into the layout of this restaurant. I am a regular here, and I cannot get enough of their hand rolled cinnamon rolls! The toppings to choose from are out of this world, my favorite has got to be the wild berrys, and topping it all off with graham cracker crumbles, delicious! The hotdogs are crazy addicting, and the homemade cheese blend atop of their signature devine chips are the perfect complement to any hotdog or sandwich! I really do not know where to begin when talking about how awesome the food and service are. Every time I walk in I am greeted with a smile and you can tell they are genuinely excited to have you visit with them. I have to usually get my food to go but they are always very quick to get my food out, but make sure it is right the first time! The Big Max is my go to sandwich and it is delicious! It doesn't hurt that it comes with an incredible cinnamon roll for desert. Arguably one of the best breakfast spots in the country. I go to CRD at least 4 times a week. Their prices are fair and their food is amazing. Their employees are extremely friendly and helpful and their manager, Ms. Jodi, is one of the most caring and thoughtful people you could dream of meeting. You can expect a line if you go choose to arrive at a popular time for breakfast, however I can assure you, the wait is worth it! This place is amazing. Definitely Columbia's best kept secret thats not so secret. The sandwiches are so amazing and the chips that come with it..... SUPERB. The breakfast sandwiches make your whole morning. Its so clean and it gives off a fresh kind of look. local artwork hang on the wall which I LOVE! Leaving the driveway is a little tricky. It's a very steep slope and my car easily scrapes pavement. If you don't have a tall car, parking on the street is probably best. read more

This was my first time there and it was absolutely delicious. I got the Italian Godfather, which is an Italian sandwich with ham, salami, turkey, provolone, onions and tomato. The bread was delicious-not too hard or too soft. It came with chips and a Cinnamon roll. We also had a mimosa and iced coffee. I got all of that for less than $20. Definitely worth the money. Be prepared to possibly scavenge for a park and a seat. It's not full service but still great service . read more

We were visiting Columbia for the first time arriving June 13th till the 16th. We found this gem on Thursday and had the most amazing cinnamon roll ever! Spent some time talking with the owner who is an amazing woman! Returned for lunch the next day and again were not disappointed. Wonderful owner and absolutely the best food!! The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli is a treasure in Columbia, South Carolina. At a VERY affordable price, it is the perfect Sunday brunch get away for college students and a perfect family brunch place for after Church. The owner is the nicest woman in the world and makes sure we are taken care each and every time we eat here. The food is beyond words amazing and the service is like family. I met up with someone I matched with on Bumble BFF and it was such a great place to meet up. We had cinnamon rolls, which are to die for, and some coffee! There was enough hustle and bustle going on to create a comfortable environment for us to get to know each other. This place was always busy when we were there, it was awesome! My favorite restaurant in Cola- costumer service (the owner is amazing!!!), food, prices, atmosphere... everything is wonderful. Whenever anyone new is in town I always recommend Cinnamon Roll Deli. Their pita chips are also the greatest I have ever had. I would eat here everyday for all three meals if I could. Highly recommend!!! read more

My husband has already given a stellar review for TDCR. It is delicious and affordable. The owner, Jody, was very hospitable and friendly. This was my favorite local restaurant while visiting Columbia. Jody turned me on to cheesy poblano grits and I was hooked. I wish her business was closer to WV. You can't go wrong. read more

This place is delicious! While it can get a little busy at times and take a minute to order once you do the food comes out quickly and is always hot, correct and delicious. Definitely get the crd sauce on the side for your chips and add one of the delicious toppings to your cinnamon roll! It can't be beat. read more

Great breakfast spot. First time I went the food network was there, so that's always a big W. I haven't been in a year or so, but my ex and I would go all the time. For two of us to eat and get coffee it was like 10 bucks. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing and include a cinnamon roll on the side. read more

BEST CINNAMON BUN I HAVE EVER HAD!! I had the apple cobbler and a regular cinnamon bun and I have never had a better cinnamon bun in my life. 11/10 recommended. Everyone working there was sooo nice. This is by far one of the best places for lunch!! Food is amazing, the pita chips are worth the 20 minute drive over!!! The service is just as amazing as those pita chips! I absolutely love this place. They are always accommodating when it comes to my celiac disease. I have tried most of their sandwiches and they work great with options like corn tortillas or lettuce wraps. The staff and atmosphere is fantastic. Definitely recommend this place to everyone. read more
