    Long-Time Listener
    Stephanie R.

If you want to impress someone who's visiting or new to the area, take them to Citrus Club! Located on the rooftop of The Dewberry hotel, it boasts one of the best views of downtown Charleston especially at sunset. It's a great way to have a socially distanced cocktail while enjoying some fresh air. When you arrive you have to check in with the host and receive a key card that is used on the elevator that grants you access to the 8th floor. Once there the bar welcomes you with plenty of options. There's a good amount of seating inside by the bar, but the real draw is the outside terrace. As the name implies citrus cocktails are their specialty. I opted for the tequila based Long-Time Listener. It was well balanced in both sweetness and tartness. I loved how pretty the gradient was or maybe I'm just a sucker for anything with a tiny umbrella. I also shared some bites with my friends. We got the Calypso Chips & Salsa, Loaded Fries and the Chicken Lollipops. Of the three the chicken was my favorite. It was perfectly seasoned and deliciously tender and the French tips are a cute touch. A cilantro lime dip accompanies the dish, which was so fresh and delicious. We even ordered some to go with the fries too! The chips & salsa didn't knock my socks off. The spicy avocado was pretty bland to me, but the mango tomatillo salsa and black beans were tasty. I appreciated they let us get another bowl of chips when one wasn't enough. We stayed long enough to transition from daytime to night, which the staff handled seamlessly as they handed out little table top lights. There's plenty of heaters throughout the rooftop too, which are a hot commodity as the cooler months approach. I look forward to experiencing this gorgeous bar again the next time I'm in Charleston.

The rooftop Citrus Club was a wonderful way to start our holiday visit! The front of the hotel was brightly decorated with lit snowflakes hanging in the entranceway and was a warm welcome. The hotel is located across from Marion Square and we were fortunate to find free parking on a side street. Once in the hotel, an employee checked us in via Resy and provided us with access to the rooftop bar. Chilly night and thankful for the hostess to find a table near a heater for us to enjoy the 1st stop on our progressive dinner tour this evening. All of the staff are super friendly and appreciative of their guests. Lots of folks enjoying the pre-holiday rush in the outdoor space and keeping warm with the fire pits/warmers. Indoor tables are available too. The outdoor section reminded me of a smaller version of the outdoor rooftop bar in the AC Hotel where we stayed in Asheville. Oh my goodness, the house made truffle french fries with a sprinkling of cojito cheese were amazing! Since it was the holiday season, a glass of champagne for me and hubby enjoyed a pinot noir as a toast to a safe and happy holiday season. Off to Hanks for dinner!

Cleanliness: 5 Quality: 5 Service: 5 Taste: 5 Stopped by for drinks while staying at the dewberry! The plan was to come back later after dinner but didn't get the chance to. I was able to try the lobster fritter and a drink which were absolutely divine !! That fritter has to be the best I've ever had in my life and it was definitely one of my favorite bites here in Charleston. It's good to note that the citrus club is the highest rooftop bar in Charleston so you really get to enjoy a beautiful view of the city from your seat! The service is outstanding as expected. Really had a grand time here and am looking forward to my return !

In the words of Marilyn Manson, this is the place for "the beautiful people." Hard to believe the Dewberry was the old federal building; the hotel, bars, and general ambience are magical. Not sure if there is a more perfect place for a date then the Dewberry rooftop. The views are stunning and it is THE place to be seen. This is not the place to show up in pastel shorts and visors that read "COCKS." The Citrus Club is for dress shirts, bridal parties, sundresses, and sports coats. The food menu is very limited - less than ten items - and mostly seafood related. We had the crab cake hush puppies, chips and crab dip, and the tuna poke bowl.

I finally made my way to the "Citrus Club" recently, and I loved it! We did have to wait an hour to get in, so we walked around close by before they texted us. The ambiance is great, and the views are breathtaking- even at night! I ordered the Dewberry Daiquiri, and it was delicious! The employees were very friendly and helpful. I definitely plan on coming back here soon!

Located in the hotel with great atmosphere and great food. Super cute atheistic and delicious southern food. Highly recommend

Best rooftop in Charleston period...end of review, I've got more. Seriously 180 degrees of excellent views of Charleston, revenel bridge, mount pleasant, and West Ashley. The drinks are excellent and the food is amazing. Had the chicken lollipops and it was heavenly. The drink prices are outrageous but it's Charleston and the views are awesome so that's that. Enjoy, it's a must visit location.

The Citrus Club makes you feel like the rich and the famous! You are immediately greeted inside the hotel lobby to be taken up to the rooftop bar. Staff greet you upon your exit from the elevator and the ambiance and decor are STUNNING! And the view is top notch! We felt so welcome and so taken care of the entire time we were there. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and great at describing the differences between the cocktails. My husband enjoyed a glass of the house cab and I tried the hibiscus mojito! It was sweet with just the right amount of bitter and tasted 100% fresh. We enjoyed the expansive views of downtown and even though we're local it felt like a little slice of vacation! If you're looking for an upscale place to grab a drink you cannot go wrong with this bar! Hotel Dewberry is beautiful from top to bottom and we can't wait to bring visitors back to this awesome rooftop!

This rooftop patio/bar has some of the best views in Charleston! I also love the decor. I have had drinks outside at the Citrus Club a couple of times, and the drinks are always fun and tasty. It's a great place to have a cocktail in the fall or spring when it is a little more mild out (it may be a bit hot in the summer!) Would highly recommend their Mai Tai.

The view from this place - SWOON!!! My friends and I finally got to visit this spot this past weekend. The reservation process is pretty annoying but worth it to be there and understandable so the place doesn't become overcrowded. We landed a sunset reservation - highly recommend! They graciously accommodated our larger party size too. The drinks were unique and strong. We got a few bites to munch on while we enjoyed the incredible view! Would recommend the lobster hush puppies. Why not 5 stars? Well, our waiter attempted to memorize our order which resulted in our party being a drink short. He was hard to flag down for any additional orders. We also were overcharged for a bottle of wine which was a point of discussion rather than an apology.

    Fancy rooftop!

Really enjoyed it here! The view was the best of all the rooftop bars we saw! Lovely outdoor patio. Fun vibe! If you are not a guest of the hotel you have to check in with the host and they will give you a card to swipe in the elevator. Drinks are pricey here. It is a must for at least 1 drink. The view alone is worth it. I had a pina colada and it was soooooooo yummy and refreshing!

Should you come here? What kind of question is that?! Yes . Yes. Yes. Get your spanks on, throw on your cutest outfit and call all your gal pals. This is Instagramable and has delicious cocktails.

We came here strictly for the sunset views of Charleston and were not disappointed! The beautiful views of old churches and the Southern night was awesome. Drinks were good too.

Appetizers/shareable- We shared the calamari and French fries. The calamari was good! It came with an aïoli dipping sauce that was delicious. The French fries were comparable to any other restaurant fries. Nothing special. Main entrees- we each had a bite off of each other's entree/shareable to sample. Swordfish sandwich- flavor was there, battering was thin coated and gave off a nice crunch. Ceviche tacos- had a nutty Asian flavor to it. Came in 3 little bite sized taco like chips. Miss Paula grilled shrimp- shrimp in a curry Thai like oil served with 5 toasted baguette slivers. If you're into Thai red curry, I'd recommend this. They advertised the shrimp is locally caught. Oysters- nothing too exciting. Kitchen service- The reason behind the 0/5 for the kitchen service is because they messed up our order so many times. They missed two of our orders and didn't make them until we said something. Instead of getting our side salads we kept getting fries. We got double of things we hadn't ordered. From the moment the first person got served their food, there was a 40 minute gap in between the serving of the last person. Our foods weren't served together so we had some girls having to wait to eat. Even then, our last girl got her food to go because we also had another rsvp to be at. We spent about 3 hours on the rooftop total when they were so adamant on having a reservation. We expected to be here for only an hour so we could spend more time exploring downtown but couldn't do that due to the speed of the kitchen service.

Sometimes the simplest thing on a menu ends up stealing the show. The atmosphere strikes that perfect Charleston balance of classy, cozy, and effortlessly cool. We arrived for dinner with our 2-year-old. The tone was set immediately by our server, who was visibly annoyed when I didn't respond to his greeting fast enough because I was tending to my toddler. Rather than reading the situation with any empathy, he sharply said "Hi, miss" in a way that made it clear he expected immediate attention. Not a great start. Things only went downhill from there. My husband had to briefly step away to take a work call, and instead of accommodating the situation in any reasonable way, the server dropped water and bluntly said he'd return "when your husband is back"--effectively refusing to engage with me at all. Trying to make the best of it, I decided to feed my child first. After waiting quite a while with no assistance, I had to flag someone down--who turned out to be the manager. What followed was honestly the most appalling part of the evening. I asked if they could simply warm up my child's food. Not only did she refuse, she told me I could not feed my child in the restaurant. No alternatives offered. No attempt at accommodation. No offer for a kid friendly food item, or no offer to feed her in the hotel lobby. Her "solution" was that I should leave the restaurant and go find some outdoor space nearby to feed my toddler. To make matters worse, she added that "service will start at 6:15 sharp," essentially implying I should figure it out and be back on their timeline. The complete lack of empathy, flexibility, or basic hospitality was astonishing. I have never encountered such dismissive and hostile behavior toward a family with a young child--especially at a supposedly high-end establishment. Mind you we have been to plenty of restaurants including 3 Michelin stars. If you're dining with a child--or frankly, if you expect to be treated with basic respect--I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.
