We decided to stop by Citrus Club to take in some views of the city, and it did not disappoint. The rooftop offers beautiful 360-degree views with plenty of seating both inside and outside. We grabbed seats at the indoor bar but spent some time wandering outside to enjoy the scenery. It's a great spot to relax with a drink and take in Charleston from above. The bartenders were kind and welcoming, and the cocktails were very good. Appetizers/shareable- We shared the calamari and French fries. The calamari was good! It came with an aïoli dipping sauce that was delicious. The French fries were comparable to any other restaurant fries. Nothing special. Main entrees- we each had a bite off of each other's entree/shareable to sample. Swordfish sandwich- flavor was there, battering was thin coated and gave off a nice crunch. Ceviche tacos- had a nutty Asian flavor to it. Came in 3 little bite sized taco like chips. Miss Paula grilled shrimp- shrimp in a curry Thai like oil served with 5 toasted baguette slivers. If you're into Thai red curry, I'd recommend this. They advertised the shrimp is locally caught. Oysters- nothing too exciting. Kitchen service- The reason behind the 0/5 for the kitchen service is because they messed up our order so many times. They missed two of our orders and didn't make them until we said something. Instead of getting our side salads we kept getting fries. We got double of things we hadn't ordered. From the moment the first person got served their food, there was a 40 minute gap in between the serving of the last person. Our foods weren't served together so we had some girls having to wait to eat. Even then, our last girl got her food to go because we also had another rsvp to be at. We spent about 3 hours on the rooftop total when they were so adamant on having a reservation. We expected to be here for only an hour so we could spend more time exploring downtown but couldn't do that due to the speed of the kitchen service. read more

This is the first time I have had a server lie right to my face and treat us like we weren't good enough to be there. We went on a Wednesday afternoon, it wasn't busy. We got in immediately, and it was about half full. They seated us and the view was every bit as good as advertised. We were seated in the direct sun, and that began to get hot. So when we got our drinks we asked our server if we could move to the table next to us as it had shade. She said "no, that is reserved for larger parties." There had been a couple at it when we arrived. There was a couple at the similar table to my left. And within 5-10 mins they had seated another couple at that table. Other two tops had opened up in the shade. This wasn't just "slow service" or "the food was cold" this was deliberately dishonest and disrespectful. read more

The bar has about a 220 degree view of south charlston and has some very comfortable seating. You need to check in at the lobby and get an elevator pass. Service was fast and friendly. Reading through the reviews for Citrus Club, I'm not super surprised at the wide range of experiences. I've been twice now, and both times were great with no issues. I could see it being really busy or crazy with service; the hostesses were fine for me but apparently there is maybe one person who is causing the problem. I love the beautiful views -- we didn't sit outside either time (weather for one and then availability for our large party) but were fine in the bar. It's a really pretty little space and it's just bougie enough that you can enjoy it without it being stuffy. We didn't have any food, but we did try a drink that was a fresh and boozy strawberry popsicle in prosecco. It was fun, but not my usual type of cocktail. We did not get any food. It didn't really look that good, to us. The service was okay, they pretty much left us alone, and we had to chase them down to ask for the bill when we were ready to leave. It is on a boutique hotel rooftop. It was our first time in Charleston, and we heard a lot of good things about this place online. It is definitely a photo op, cute vibe if that's what you want. Citrus Club is 100% the best view in Charleston! Go. It's located in The Dewberry Hotel in Downtown Charleston. Upon arriving, you'll head toward the elevators - however - you won't hop up just yet. You'll need to check in with hostess at the desk. She'll most likely tell you there is a wait, as the Citrus Club is a first come first serve place. No worries, pop your name in then make your way to The Dewberry's downstairs bar around the corner and wait with an equally amazing cocktail. If you're like us, you'll get binged right when your round of cocktails at the lower bar arrive. Luckily, because it's in the same building, you can bring whatever cocktails you've ordered (if still drinking) up with you to the Citrus Club. Personally, I loved and appreciated this inclusion of the two bars. We were given a cute lil' circle access card when we loaded the elevator. You swipe it, then ding. It takes you to the top floor of the hotel and the Citrus Club awaits. And... yes. As you can imagine, it's a vibe! On first impressions, it has a very Miami meets New York meets give me a bottle of rose and let the wind blow in my hair style. Instantly, I felt how J-Lo probably feels all the time - elite, cool and refreshing - and loved it. I will go back just to feel that again! No shame, haha. :D From our table, you could see all of Charleston! It was epic. We each ordered a tiki drink, then split a round of oysters and a chips with three dip appetizer. Visually, everything was beautiful! The tiki drinks popped with flavor. The oysters sat elegantly on a bed of ice. You could have instagramed everything, for sure. However, the oysters tasted a bit gritty and the chips lacked flavor due to under salting. Next time, we'd probably just split some fries and order a bottle of wine. I mean what more do you need to enjoy an amazing view? ;D I'd highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Charleston, and will happily go back whenever I'm in town! The experience is worth it. Pricey for a reason. This spot offers 360 views of downtown Charleston and makes my favorite cocktail in the area. Expect a long wait but they allow you to grab a cocktail or snack while you wait in the lobby bar area and if your table gets called you can take your drink upstairs. They have indoor and outdoor seating but would definitely recommend sitting outside if you're going to wait. I'd also recommend this spot for groups visiting the area or as part of a bachelorette. I wish our server was a bit more attentive (had to ask for another drink / blankets / water more than once and flag him down) but overall the views here are wonderful! My boyfriend got the monkey business drink and I got a pilsner beer. They poured my beer almost at 60% of the glass versus a 100% full pour. This is definitely impacting my review, sadly.
