I grew up in High Point and didn't even know this place existed. Centennial Station is located…read moredowntown, just around the corner from Showplace. It used to be an old freight train depot in the early 1900s, but was later converted into a dinner theater and now, it's a special events center. Very old and rustic looking, a lot of the original wooden flooring and structure still remain in place today. I visited on Friday night for a wedding rehearsal dinner afterparty. The inside was nicely decorated for the holidays with Christmas trees, beautiful lights, and colorful ornaments. The main hall has a stage, dance floor, plenty of table seating, and a small open bar in the back. Cool space and perfect for the event. There was a projected slide show on stage of the married couple to be and also a little dancing. The sound system could have been better, but it wasn't a big deal. Bartenders did a good job. Ample parking outside.

The only plausible murder in this sham of a "show" was of good taste and believable acting…read more If anyone can be bored to death, then the Dinner Detective is to blame for the crime. Detective Noel chewed the scenery with her soap opera one note delivery born out of community college summer acting programs or a month as an intern at summer stock. Someone tell her the pink hair trend is over and her forty-plus year old self should catch up. Why do they need a 23 minute preamble before the actual "show"begins? For 75$ why did they serve crappy Duncan Hines boxed cake? C'mon. The entree was ok, a saving grace, and the friends at my table were fun and understood how stupid it all was. If you need a particular brand of torture and a reminder of why "dinner theatre" is a lie and an affront to actual quality entertainment- have at it. But I warned you.

Worst experience EVER!! The Raleigh Dinner Detective "dinner" experience was probaly the worst…read moreexperience I've had since covid. The manager/owner didn't care that there was an issue only gave a "how dare you call and complain" attitude, when all we wanted was a simple apology and confirmation that it would be fixed. This was supposed to be a fun dinner outing, but they ruined the evening!! We booked for a birthday dinner experience and checked in only to find out that they "miscounted" the seats and did not have a place for us to sit. SERIOUSLY, THIS IS A DINNER EXPERIENCE! How do you not have enough seats??? They had to bring out a separate table to seat us, which meant we would not get the FULL EXPERIENCE. There were no actors at the table, no QR codes, no clues under the chair. When speaking with the manager/owner on the phone, she was aggressive and rude. The manager claimed that it was a "human" mistake and that we had to have more "grace" while they fixed it. Then she said we should leave as we weren't the "right kind of people" because we didnt have enough grace. As customers we tried and wanted to have a fun experience and were so disappointed that we did not get that experience. To further complete the disastrous experience, the food was not as promised when we booked...the "chocolate mousse cake" was basic dry yellow cake with chocolate frosting. The host tried, but the whole experience was lacking. I would definitely not suggest this experience if you want to be entertained and have a decent meal because even with reservation you might not get a seat!

The lack of a call button or service app ending up making our experience even worse. We ordered one soda and one beer and AN HOUR into the movie everyone else in our row had been served full meals and I was forced to leave the movie to go find my server. I would have let it go but this place makes you PRE-PAY and PRE-TIP for what ends up being horrible service. At the service window I found my server and let him know it had been an hour and he said "we are trying to get drinks out" This was followed by snide comments from another server from within the stand. I'm sorry but if I don't have my order one hour into a two hour movie you have completely failed and shouldn't be marketing yourself as a food-based cinema experience. To make matters worse my seat was completely broken. No recline. I would have brought this up if I had seen my waiter at all in the first hour. Finally, for me the worst part of my experience is that they had glitching and stuttering on playback multiple times in the first and second reel. The one thing they should be flawless at is projecting a movie and they can't even do that correctly. I will NEVER be back to this theater. This is why theatrical attendance is down. This is why movies are dying. People can have a better experience at home. Congratulations on contributing to the death of the theater experience.

I have been to other professional murder mysteries and I was excited to hear there would be a show in Wake Forest. But I didn't realize the poor quality and execution of this company. I would not call this group of for professional as they just guided the improv from the ticket holders. The 25 or so suspects were just the audience and that was a lot of people to keep track of and try to remember who was who. Not everyone is good at improv so having the show based on audience participation is just a recipe for disaster. There were four cast members but one of them "Howie" didn't do anything in the show besides take photos of the other three. This performance was more like one of those Murder Mystery boxes you can buy to have a party at your house with friends. It was missing the storyline development by the cast. The cast needed to take the lead and be the show. Most of the night had the audience mingling with the other audience members to share clues. There were two sessions of the mingling which just dragged on this show. Lots of the audience left early and I wanted to as well but I hoped it would get better but it never did. At the end they give out some awards to the audience members who participated. Then they pick a winning table. I'm not sure how that was determined as my table had the same suspect and reasoning and it was not acknowledged as figuring it out. I am sure other tables figured it out as well. I would not recommend this company at all and would look for a better option if you enjoy murder mysteries.

Everything was a HUGE disappointment - the show and food - similar to other reviews on YELP. There were 8 tables of 6 in a very tight private room. Although the salad was served early, the main course didn't arrive until the end of the show and my wife's pasta only came after several complaints. The food was miserable, small portioned and cold. We have eaten at Rock Bottom many times before and cannot fathom why they would serve this 'ale chicken' garbage in their restaurant. There were two drink servers and only one food server. This company knows the drill and perform here monthly so I cannot understand the complete failure to make sure their guests are satisfied, or even care for that matter. There was supposed to be a desert, though only saw a few tables get it. Oh, and the show. Well, I thought "interactive" meant that we would ask questions or work with folks at our table. No. Instead myself along with 8 or 9 others were handed binders with instructions on our characters. Extremely disorganized and confusing. There were two periods where everyone was instructed to walk around and bribe others for clues. Most people just walked out to the bar to get their drinks or went to the bathroom. I suspect that these were supposed to be the periods between meal courses, which never got served until the end. The Mystery remains unsolved as to why these guys are still in business!
