Ask the Community - The Dinner Detective

Is it family friendly (within reason of course)? I noticed that the age restriction was 15, but I'd like to take my parents who are in their elder years and just don't want them to fall on the floor from a heart attack due to something too crude.

There is a not too loud gunshot, a flash of light and people screaming. There's nothing too scary, but a few instances where you might jump bit. Nothing that should induce a heart attack though.

Food was ok, it was edible and not terrible, as some other reviewers remarked. The show itself was a bit unorganized, the sound acoustics and lighting was off, and the story line was very unclear, but over all it was something different to do with visiting family. I'm sure if the actors really explored& dived into the script it could become something awesome. Also they just really need to work a little on pitch, volume and project their voices stronger to the audience and say their lines with more dramatic emphasis, it has potential to become something amazing. Regardless, it seemed that the actors were enjoying what they were doing and we all had a unique experience.

First off, the area is convenient, tucked into a side street in society hill with ample parking options in the immediate area. We were warmly greeted at the restaurant and directed to the second floor. Upon arrival, about 10 minutes before the show started, we were shown to our table, which is shared with other parties, similar to a cruise ship. They have a decent selection of drinks to choose from and the menu is set. I understand that you can order from the restaurant menu for an additional surcharge, however, we stuck with the set menu. The Caesar salad was OK. The creamy potato soup was great! My entree was the salmon with polenta. The salmon was a tad on the bland side however it was cooked perfectly and the polenta was... polentastic. The chocolate tart cake was just ok as well. My wife opted for the rigatoni and that, my friends, was a flavor extravaganza! It was the vegetarian option but man oh man, the cheesy saucy goodness more than made up for a lack of meat, Incase you're concerned. The wait staff is also the entertainment and as a result, they are in character the whole night, which was fun. I didn't quite know what to expect but we had a great time and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun night. You're not going to get a Broadway caliber show, but I'd say it is a good, light-hearted time.

We are all excited but still had no idea where until I saw the castle and I froze. Like, wow! I have been wanting to come here since I was young and that wish came true. The ambiance inside the castle and the staff were so welcoming and very into their characters. It was so cool to see and experience. The concession stands had really nice items to buy and great photo ops. As we were waiting to go inside, my boys were knighted and that was so cool to see as they were having the time of their lives! As we were walking towards our section to sit down, we saw a royal falcon, which was pretty cool. As time is getting closer, we are now waiting to be seated. My family and I and everyone around us was so excited to finally go inside, sit down, and enjoy the show. We are finally in our seats excited for this moment. Our server Isaac was awesome!!!! (FOR ANYONE READ THIS OR TAKES A TRIP OUT THERE, TIP YOUR SERVERS) For anyone who hasn't been there I just don't want to spoil the moment but what I can say is I 1000% recommend this!!!!!!!

We visited Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament recently and while the kids had a great time, the…read moreoverall experience felt extremely overwhelming from start to finish. The line to get inside, the line for pictures, and even trying to find our seating created a very chaotic atmosphere. We made a reservation for 9 people but were seated for 8, which resulted in two children having to share a chair. That was disappointing and felt unfair, especially considering the cost of the experience. The show itself was entertaining and the host was very kind, but the food was just mediocre. The potato was dry, and the chicken was unevenly seasoned -- one section had an overwhelming amount of seasoning while other parts had very little. For the amount of money spent, everything felt just "okay" rather than worth the price. Leaving the venue was also stressful. Guests for the next show were entering while our crowd was trying to exit, causing everyone to crash into each other and making the experience feel even more chaotic. Overall, the kids enjoyed themselves, but as an adult, the entire experience was overstimulating and not something I would personally rush to do again.

Upon exiting the elevator they make you feel like you enter "paradise", do some tarot card reading by asking for your birthdate, and then get some beads with perfume dropped on them depending on which card you got. After all of that, none of those stuff mattered. We were served a three course meal before the actual aerobics show happened, but they still had performers perform while we had our meals or a few drinks. I enjoyed their Crescent Dip, which is a hummus dip with whipped feta and comes with a massive chip. The Full Moon Rice I wasn't really a fan of. After those two, they came out with the entree, which they called Fire, Water, Earth; essentially beet, halibut, and short rib. These were alright, not amazing. The third and final course came during the intermission of the show, which was a bunch of dessert treats and they were delicious. The show itself was fantastic. It was more than just aerobics, has there are also singing, dancing, and violinist. You may get wet in the front so FYI. There's also some fire involved. Overall, a well put together show. I'd probably skip the food, but the drinks were great.

I really appreciated all of this info on their website as I had a budget to stick to and many questions..it's a lot easier to do online research before wasting someones time on the phone with a zillion questions and turns out you can't even afford it! The day of, Clyde called me to confirm and let me know he and the others would be here. They all showed up promptly and didn't expect me to entertain them until we were ready for them to start. The show itself was absolute HILARITY!!! We chose the holiday murder mystery based off of A Christmas Carol. Each actor was literal perfection, my whole office was in tears! Highly Highly Highly recommend for any occasion. They have the capability of doing huge shows for hundreds of people and small shows like for my office of only 25 people! Absolutely affordable and a great value for prime entertainment that will come to you!
