We are just looking for a place that had kids options one night after a very long day. Since we were already nearby since we had to go to a store, we went here. Our waiter was really great - pretty friendly, he made sure we knew all the specials that day and ones they have on other days if we wanted to come back and was sweet and getting our little one an ice cream and some fruit on the house. The food was ok. The sauce for the zingers and wings was pretty good; I wasn't a big fan of my entree (Cajun Chicken Pasta). It wasn't horrible but I've had better. I probably should've ordered something different and it would've been better. There are other things in their menu I would be open to trying whenever we come back. read more

We've had our company Christmas party for several years at Miller's and I have to say it's a great deal if you're looking for a place that has plenty of parking, is pretty centralized for the Bucks/Philly/Delco area and has a private room available you can book relatively easy with good food and cheap drinks. They have two rooms you can book, one is smaller and a bit cramped which we grew out of, but the other room can easily accommodate 100 or so people. Our crews around 35 and we barely put a dent into filling that room. It has TV's everywhere and they can put some music on for you if you'd like. Booking it had a minimum of $1500 total with no tip tied to it. $500 down. Besides their catering menu, the management's worked with me to find a fair catering price for regular menu items. The staff has been so accommodating and is so easy to work with. We've had items like: Zingers, Bone-in wings (served dry/they put a mix of sauces on the side) , Atlantic salmon, pot stickers, mix of chicken and steak fajita (steaks not bad at all), mac and cheese, BBQ full racks of ribs (cut up into smaller portions fall off the bone), chicken parmesan w fettuccine alfredo, Cajun chicken pasta, fried shrimp, fried calamari, house salad, prime rib French dip sandwich (one of my favs) and mini burgers. Everyone has enjoyed the food and the staff gives you containers for take home. Drink wise they have plenty of options from typical beers to a few crafts, the gang really enjoyed the Merry Berry Margaritas at $4.99. Soft drinks are $3.99 per person and then free refills. Beers are $6.99, you don't see that often in Philly! For desserts we always get a Captain Jack's whole ice cream cake and popular choices were Cheesecakes and Chocolate Brownie Sundae's. I've eaten in the restaurant too and on my last visit I had the Big Red sandwich - Crispy buttermilk-marinated chicken breast tossed in hot sauce, melted blended cheeses. I thought it was pretty good the bun is crispy and toasted/charred a little.. Nothing crazy special about the 'wich, but the chicken was juicy, well sauced and a big portion. Whenever I stop in for lunch they are never packed. In my opinion, don't expect to be blown away with flavors, but I think Miller's gives you a good experience and food at a fair price. Yesterday was our first visit to Miller's Ale House. I was surprised that the place wasn't packed during the Phillies game but it was nice and easy for us to grab a table, or we could have sat at the bar no problem. There's plenty of TVs an big screens all around, a great place to watch a game. I tried their house margarita $4.99 and we shared the Mountain Mountain melt madness for $24.99 (mozzarella stocks, fries, pretzel, and zingers!). Unfortunately, we asked for it to be served without bacon and it had bacon as you can see in the photos. We didn't feel like sending it back, but that was disappointing. That appetizer is likely better off for 3+ persons, but it was great for us to share and we even had some to take home for leftovers. It's not a bad spot for decent deals, and to watch the game - but you get what you pay for. The margarita was really bad, but it's hard to complain for $4.99 but I would absolutely not get it again, even for the price. It tasted like.. water/ juice with a splash of tequila? For a beer, a marg, and the giant appetizer our bill came to $43 pre-tip between the two of us. I usually don't bother with reviews of chain restaurants, but for Miller's Ale House on Columbus Blvd., I'm making an exception. Last night my partner, who ordered a steak, and I stopped in and osso buco--one of my favorite dishes too elaborate to make at home--was on the menu. I ordered it and was pleasantly surprised! It was delicious: perfectly buttery and a generous portion, well spiced (classic gremolata?). I happily finished it for lunch today. Our waitress was delightful, smiling and efficient. She welcomed us cheerfully and checked-in at least twice before presenting our bill. We will be back! An architectural issue: I am confined to a wheelchair and the restroom was at the end of a long ramp making it difficult to access. I have considerable upper body strength, but I can easily imagine some with a similar disability could have an issue. read more

What an excuse for a Sports bar. I read the bad reviews and was skeptical of the food but I thought I can at least try it for a few drinks. But boy was I wrong. To start with the AC was not working. The bartender informed us that the taps were not giving out cold beers so we had to settle for bottles. When we decided on bottles, half of them were not available either. I requested if we could get a discount on the cocktails since most of the stuff we asked was not available but the bartender straight away refused, did not even try to accomodate or check with the manager. Eventually, we deciced on getting a beer each and getting some onion rings. The beer was cold but not chilled as you would expect a bottle to be. Onion Rings were just meh, half had crunch and half were soggy and soft. Bartender couldn't care less for the customers. I would definitely find a local bar than go here. read more

Tried out Miller's after a trip to Ikea... Unfortunately, this didn't go as well as we hoped. It was later in lunch (about 1:30p) the restaurant was not overly busy. We were greeted and seated immediately by a very friendly gentleman who didn't stop hustling while we were there. The waitress came by and offered drinks and apps, returned moments later with my drink, and took our order. We didn't order much... Filet w/ a double serving of the mixed veggies for me, fish, and rice for my wife. The order took about 35-40 minutes to come out and still wasn't complete as the waitress said they were still preparing the rice. Unfortunately, my best guess is the food died some in the window. The steak was warm, but still somehow a bit undercooked and had little seasoning. The veggies were cooked well but had no flavoring. I was hopeful my wife got all the flavor, but she said the fish was flavorless, cold, and soaked in oil, the rice... which came out 5 minutes later, had no flavor (should have been cilantro and lime), and was undercooked. The waitress was very friendly and we did share the experience at the end of the meal after we paid. She apologized and said she would inform the manager, but he was currently in the back cooking food, trying to help catch them up. We will try them again next time, but we are hoping for more given how nice the restaurant appeared. read more

Now that places have reopened in Philadelphia, it was interesting to see how these places were doing in light of the pandemic. Millers ale here was doing very good and I have to admit the experience was exceptional. Precautions are taken very seriously here and despite restrictions, the place is able to accommodate a good amount of people while still leaving plentiful space between diners. The food here is also very good and well put together. I really emjoyed the portions and the food here. You will definitely get your money's worth of food. We ordered some of their signature chicken as well as fries and a pretzel, all very delicious and pretty big haha. The drink menu also looked very good, but will need to come back again to try them. The decor was very cool as well and would have been amazing if there was no pandemic. The amount of TVs and different things playing was awesome. Some of the most bland and tasteless food I've ever had. I wanted to get a burger when I got there but saw the reviews were bad and the pictures on the menu didn't even look appetizing so I went for the cajun chicken pasta. It said it has Alfredo sauce on it - thats a big leap. Nothing had flavor and was overpriced for the quality. The only thing going for it was large portion size and lots of TVs if you're into that kinda thing. I'd prefer to just have good food. First time here. First impressions are really good. Came in and was seated right away. Server took a little to come to the table, but once she did she was super friendly. Place over all is clean. Inside is casual. Music by wasn't super loud and it was perfect temperature wise. Big menu and plenty to choose from. Went with fish and chips. But changed out the fries for a lime rice. Food took a while to come out! But if the kitchen is short staffed or the was slammed at once that's not their fault. But waiting for almost 35 minutes for fish, rice and a 8oz steak with veggies (hubby's meal) is a little much. Waitress kept saying food will be right out just waiting on the rice. Once the food came out. Fish was super greasy and cold. Rice was brought out a few minutes later. Absolutely no seasoning and undercooked. Over all I probably wouldn't come back for lunch. I just wanted to thank the management at Miller's Ale House for reaching out to me and offering a better experience to make up for my prior one. This time I had to get my entire order to go. I was able to get a free order of the Zingers un-sauced and three different flavors to dip on the side ( Mango Habanero, Jerk and Honey Mustard). Loved the Jerk best. Also got the Cue Burger which I've had before and loved. Everything was packaged well this time. The only confusing thing was I initially went to the bar to order but was told to go back to the front to do it. They have a section in the dining room where servers do the napkin thing rolling up the cutlery and that's where you get your to go. It's an odd set up but the servers were helpful with questions and very friendly. read more

We were in south philly hungry and it was literrally right there and none of us had been. I read the reviews and the menu and was looking forward to it! When I walked in I gave someone my name and asked how long the wait for a table for four would be, he said 35 minutes. Not too bad, however, when he went to enter my information on the tablet, I saw the current wait was 25 minutes and he scrolled it down to 35 minutes. Still a red flag but not a total big deal. Def gave him the side eye, but thought maybe they were busy, but he did not communicate that. After waiting for 15 minutes, I was texted and told that the wait now increased to 45 minutes (I mean, whats 10 more minutes at that point). I said ok and continued to wait, we weren't really in a rush, but I also thought that was another red flag. Around the 45 minute mark I checked in via text to see what was up with my table and then at that time (AFTER I ASKED), I was refused seating via text. NO apologies or anything, just a text that they were no longer seating and the kitchen was so backed up I'd never get my food because they stop putting in orders. I was NOT THAT crowded, like come on. Now all of a sudden the kitchen was backed up after waiting that entire time! Im so glad we took our business to Longhorn Steakhouse and had a great time with great food. We had a good waiter at Longhorns, was seated right away and got our food quickly (go there instead) I will not patronize this place ever again. Communication is key. They could communicated better, not after I asked and still should have offered an alternative - take out, sit at bar, etc. I called the next MORNING to speak with the manager and was told they were too busy to take any calls at the moment and I'd have to call back later. When asked for the contact information for the General Manager and an email, they couldn't give me the name the general manager. Not sure if this was just a bad day for them (Sunday early evening). Bottom line, after my wait I should have been accommodated, I actually wanted to spend my money here. I waited after the 25 minute wait time was changed to 35 minutes right before my eyes, and then to 45 minutes while I was waiting, only to be turned away. I would never waste my time like that again. After about 10 minutes, he came back over with my drink and asked my daughter what she ordered. We sat there and finished our drinks, and there was no thought or mention of the appetizer. These drinks were empty for another 10 minutes. I eventually asked for the check. The manager came over and asked us how everything was, and I told him it was just time for us to go, the bartender was really struggling. Had some really big piece of Artichoke in my dip, which was unpleasant. Entrees were Mahi Tacos and Grilled Chicken Fajitas. Again Nothing special. My sister seem to be satisfied with her meal, I can't say the same. My Chicken Fajitas tasted okay, a bit on the skimpy side but I'm not complaining. There's always something to be said for a place that'll put up a large group meetup. There were 33 of us. That's pretty large. But they packed us in to a bunch of adjacent tables and hey hey! A group of 33 can eat and drink! I recall the beers being a bit limited in the darker realm but they had a couple of nice ones there, plus plenty of mainstreams. That's what they do. I remember going for cheesesteak-related sandwich, this being Philly. This is a chain, so you get what you get. It was decent, certainly not up to Philadelphia standards, and too much bread to steak ratio, but it was decent. The service was great throughout; we were told they could only break us by table but that was pretty straightforward. I can understand not preparing 33 bills! We all got out on time to get our afternoon rolling, so I really must give Miller's the bonus star for great service overall. Yeah, I'd normally only give the place 3 stars for the food and drinks. I'm make it short. Me and the wife decided to give this place a try for our wedding anniversary because Long Horn was pack for a Sunday night and it was a long wait. Step in was greeted and was told it would be a 30 minutes wait. That was fine, 10 minutes after we walked in another pair came in. They were told it would be around 30-40 minutes wait for them by the same hostess. As we wait others were being seat, then we was told our table is almost ready. It's been over 40 minutes more people kept coming in. When one of the server came and told the hostess her section two top is being clean up and will be ready in two. The hostess completely ignores me and gave it to the pair behind me. Then gave another table to a three top. I wanted to tell her off but didn't want to cause a commotion. I've never feel so disrespected. So after five people went head with no reservations. She finally noticed me. I told the hostess how disappointed and disrespectful she was for skipping me when I came before those other customers. No apology or anything. That piss me off even more so walk out. I had a very strange and surreal experience at this restaurant. My cousin made arrangements to bring wedding guests here after her wedding. When I arrived, the waiter refused to serve me. I was told by another guest that the bartender made a choice to not serve anyone from the wedding because they weren't told in advance that we were coming. Apparently there was a major miscommunication internally with management and staff. What followed, due to some type negligence on the restaurant's part, was very confused wedding guests being met with highly confrontational employees. We all stayed to watch the end of the word series. Shortly after the game ended, the bartender picked up a microphone and announced, "pay your tabs and leave" in an aggressive tone. Another server walked by us and said "why don't you just f***ing leave." Other servers were arguing with each other near the kitchen (not sure what that was about), and after some quick exchanges of words and paying the tabs, we all left. While we were waiting outside for our Ubers to pick us up, one of the employees aggressively stormed out the front door and said "Get the f*** off my property and go home." This aggressive behavior naturally caused several people in the wedding party to respond by letting him know we were simply waiting for Ubers, and reminding him that this is someone's wedding day. This reasonable response didn't quell him, however, and he started to get worked up. Naturally some of the wedding guests told him his behavior was unacceptable, that he needs to have a heart, and (admittedly) there was some cursing. The angry employee made us move away from a well-lit area in front of the building to a dark area in the back. Then, two employees needed to put their bodies in front of him because they were worried he was going to escalate the situation. Fortunately, they escorted him back inside the restaurant while we complied and moved to the dark area behind the restaurant. It was a very unfortunate situation that seemed to stem from a lack of communication from management and staff. Even with this mistake, the restaurant could have easily fixed the situation by speaking reasonably with the guests. I highly doubt that I or anyone else that night will ever return to to a Miller's Alehouse again. And it seems like the employees never wanted us there anyway. What a shame. read more

Stumbled upon this restaurant on Sunday afternoon. Looked good for the area we were in at the time. Seated quickly and the hostess was great. Ordered a Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. Salad was good, but didn't care for the chicken. I think it was a little burnt. My husband had a cheesesteak and the kids had Mac and cheese and chicken tenders from the kids menu. Everything was polished off, so I'm guessing they liked it! The only thing I would suggest is to turn down the TVs a little. All I'm gonna say is, it tastes a lot better than only looks. I wasn't sure what to expect getting steak from a sports bar, but I couldn't pass up a great deal. They have different specials everyday and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday they have a surf and turf deal. With two choices of either Cajun or chimmichurri shrimp. Will be returning to try the prime rib on Thursday's! The shrimp could've been better, but the steak was actually amazing. My boyfriend and I got medium rare steaks and to our surprise, they were tender, juicy and moist. The mash potatoes were seasoned nicely and was a great pairing with the steak. Nice to know that we don't have to go to 4-5 star restaurant to get a good steak anymore. Obviously nothing will beat a steak from a fine dining restaurant, but this comes pretty damn close for the price. First time, and it won't be my last. read more

This was the most odd experience Ive ever had. We walk in and stand at the front waiting to be seated. Nobody comes for 10mins, finally someone walks up waved their hand at us and points at a table. Miller's Ale House South Philly. I was really hoping this Cheesesteak was going to be great. South Philly by the river and across the street from the SS United States. SS United States is the only luxury liner completely built the United States and she still holds the speed record between New York and London. Miller's Ale House has great drink specials, parking, bathroom, plenty of bar space and tables and lots of TVs. I guess after a day or night of drinking with your friends this Cheesesteak will do the trick. It has a very standard roll, meat was goodish not a lot of it, cheese was on the bottom, I paid the extra $0.99 for a sauteed mushrooms and I did not see a lot of them in there. Me and a group of friends came to watch a UFC fight. it was a packed night as you can imagine anytime for sports people are getting drunk and eating bar food at this great place. Took a few minutes to be seated but the front of the house was attentive. Once we had been seated our server was no where to be found not a hello or may I grab you water. I noticed a young man walking pass I asked him can he allow our server to know we'd like to order asap. He said he will look for her. He came back and notified me of my servers name and who she was. Yet 5 minutes later still no greeting from our server. Finally our server "DENISE" walked by clearly with an attitude and in a bad mood, she looked out way and keep forward. I said "excuse me miss" as she stopped I replied "are you our server? we wanted to place an order for some drinks and food before the fights over." Her response clear as day that she didn't want to take our order was "well I'm going to close up a few tables tabs first." and walks off. minutes later another server came to take care of us named Jazmin a taller lady. She was very helpful, and after made the rest of the night run smoothly even though it was getting close to 1:45am last call for drinks.
