Inflation hasn't inflated their prices. I'd go so far to say their prices are right where you'd want them to be for the amount of product you're getting. I got a banana split and the grand total was a whopping $4.76! It was a huge portion as well. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth the price? Yes. Do I think it was the best thing I've ever had ice cream wise? No. It hit the spot where it was needed. This place is a staple to the area, and I have a lot respect for that. My only complaint is whether this place is up to both health code and structure code. It's a bit dingy inside, but it goes with the territory. It's a mom and pop shop that hasn't changed since it was built in the 1950s or 1960s. The retro character of it gives it charm, but you'd still question if all is sanitary. It has absolutely horrible wait times for the simple things takes 10-15 minutes to come out. We've just stopped going there it's not supposed to take that long to come out at a fast food restaurant. It's just so disappointing. They also get my food wrong almost every time. read more

Maybe we came at a bad time, but I really wanted to like the place. It took a long time for our food to come out uncooked. We got two cheeseburger combos. The burgers were fine, thin burgers decent flavor. I did enjoy the pickles on the burger. The French fries were not cooked. They must have been put in the fryer for 10 seconds only because they were still white. Do not recommend the fries. I wouldn't come back again for the main course. The ice cream was pretty good. We got a small twist and a large chocolate cone. I would come back just for ice cream. The prices are decent. read more

Place needs a good cleaning, new ceiling tiles (or at-least paint them) and some new lighting. Maybe it's dark so you can't see the dirt, who knows. Lack of quality in food. Burgers extra thin (they aren't advertised as smash burgers) and topping are lacking in amount or not fresh. I get the price of food has gone up but it seems like service quality should improve if we are paying so much for subpar food. Staff has always been either extremely slow or snippy and rude because they actually have to work instead of stand around on phones. read more

There is a help wanted sign on the window but 5 people working. One poor girl was running around doing most of the work. Ordered ice cream cone, dish of ice cream and a malt. Got the ice cream cone, finished it. Then the malt. Finally the cup. Long haired young man cooking. Nice hair but probably in most of the food. The place doesn't seem very clean. Great experience,stopped in Saturday evening with the Grandgirls for ice cream and fries not realizing they were closing in a few minutes. I've come to not expect very good dining in the town of Dover, TN. This place definitely was a disappointment, I ordered a BLT, it came on a hamburger bun, not toasted with 1 tiny slice of tomato and barely any lettuce. The hamburger my wife ordered was so thin it was totally dried out. The salad was made out of only iceberg lettuce with a sprinkle of shredded carrots and four plum tomatoes, the only saving grace was it was $2.50. We won't be back. read more

Ice cream was really runny and small for the price. We got 2 small dipped vanilla cones and or was like $5, but as soon as we bit into it it just started oozing out all over and turned into a huge mess in less than 30 seconds... the ice cream was maybe 1.5 inches tall from the top of the cone up. I visit the Dairy Freeze each time I visit Tennessee, and my parents have taken me here since I was a small child (30 years now). It's fast food, and it's pretty freakin' good for what it is. My husband and I share the dozen mini cheeseburger special (they come with mustard, pickle, and tiny little chopped onion), large fry (well seasoned), fried cheese balls with marinara sauce, two sweet teas, and a hot fudge sundae with whipped cream, nuts, & cherry for dessert. The interior hasn't changed in two decades, and the ceiling tiles REALLY need to be replaced; however, the interior is cozy and pleasant enough with windows lining the dining area for a street view. The kiddos behind the counter are typically pleasant and are sometimes a source of teenage entertainment - you know, since MTV isn't available. The Dairy Freeze is pretty much a local landmark. If you wander into Dover intentionally or purposely, GO. If you like fast food, you'll love Dairy Freeze. read more

We stopped in after visiting Fort Donelson National Battlefield. I had the giant cheeseburger and tater tots. The wife had a chicken finger box. The food was OK, nothing special. The lady working the drive through was very nice. Prices were decent. This is a solid three star restaurant. read more

Drive thru is a bit long but that's no problem for me, nobody eats inside because they think the lobby is closed due to COVID-19! My food comes out fast and hot without having to wait in line. Top notch broiled cheeseburgers and they have two new AC units. Love this place! read more

The icecream is good. They dont skip out on the toppings/mix-ins. It takes a pretty long time though to get your order.

Have eaten here before and it was pretty good, this time, however was a different story. The hamburger tasted like a cheap old frozen burger, one of the worst I've had. I also imagine that they have the health inspector in their pocket as it looks as if it would not pass a proper health inspection. The ceiling tiles in the seating area all need to be replaced. They are all sagging and blackish like they have something growing on them. Basically it has run down hill to the point it just looks Nasty. Won't eat here again. read more

Stopped here after swimming at the lake. It was a Tuesday at dinner time and we were one of only 2 other people in the restaurant. Ordered burgers and a shake to spilt. They price is amazing. For 2 meals with fries and drinks, plus one shake was $18. Food came out quick and was hot. Shake was good. We both throughly enjoyed our burgers. The drive-through is a joke.... if want your food reasonable fast you might as well go in and there's no one in a hurry there either. Lucky for this restaurant the food is good otherwise he would not be worth the wait. Excellent charbroiled burgers, made to order. Good variety of side items, the chicken "tenders" are fabulous!!! A short wait sometimes but well worth the wait!!! Ice cream treats are great too. read more
