What a wonderful find here in Clarksville that is reminiscent of retro diners that don't seem to exist anymore! This is a what you see, what you get simple diner with the breakfast staples. Buttery biscuits, crispy bacon, and perfectly cooked eggs - all for cheap prices. The service is phenomenal, our coffee remained filled the entire time and the food was out quick. It's a bit cramped inside, once you arrive you seat yourself though at any table you'd like. The only thing we didn't really enjoy was the grits as they were ice cold and a bit flavorless, so we'd pass on those the next time we are in. Great little gem!

Amazing breakfast! Great prices and solid portions. Would not skip this when in the area next time. Home made biscuits are light and fluffy.

Rudy's was exactly what we were looking for the morning we stopped in--a welcoming, unpretentious old-school diner where you can get a plate of eggs and the rest for a fair price. My wife had chocolate chip pancakes which were fluffy and tasty. I had the country fried steak, biscuit and gravy, and a side of home fries. The biscuit was crispy around the edges and soft in the middle. If the biscuits and gravy are to be your main entree, you might want a second but as a side one biscuit is plenty. The home fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle as they should be. Gravy was good. Eggs over easy cooked to order the way I asked for them. Hot coffee in random mugs, friendly service, super fair pricing especially given the cost of eggs these days (spring 2025). The menu is pretty extensive-- breakfast potatoes of multiple varieties (hashbrowns, homefries, etc.), omelettes, various meat options (country fried steak, bacon, sausage, corn beef hash, steak, pork chops, and if you're feeling bold, brains)--not to mention a full meat and three for lunch as well as desserts. Everything was hot, fresh, and cooked to order sold at a fair price by friendly people. Plenty of parking out front.

It's a small establishment - you might miss it if you don't pay attention. However, Rudy's is a nice lil Mom n Pop diner near the river walk. The place has the nicest staff working there! The diner is clean and minimalist on decor. No ratty seats here! Even the bathrooms are spanking clean!! But let's talk about the food!! They are reasonably priced and generous with their portions! All food is cooked to order with fresh ingredients. The Western omelette was so delicious but I could only eat half of it! They make chocolate chip pancakes too - big as a plate!! The Big Guy had one of their burgers with steak fries. He loved it! He also got a salad and mozzarella sticks. All the hot food came to the table fresh off the grill and piping hot! No shyness on flavour either! They play oldies music and the staff join happily in singing while they work. It is such a joy to experience! Our waitress even proactively offered drinks to go!! This place is a real gem! We have already said we will be back! Don't miss out on their daily specials and plenty of options on their menu! Thanks, Rudy's!!

Your average local diner with all the typical meals you would expect. We were driving through on our way to South Carolina and looking for a place to eat and picked Ruby's. Not their fault, but you basically have to drive through the whole city to get there and traffic was horrible. It's in a small mini mall and parking can be difficult. So, wouldn't recommend if you're just passing through and if you do go bring cash as they up charge 3% if using a credit card.

Didn't care for it. Staff was kinda weird and the food was just okay. Lots of people there but just wasn't my style.

First off everyone is extremely friendly and helpful, it has such a small town diner vibe. Secondly the food was actually amazing. I don't love fried food but the batter they use is light and crispy and nothing was greasy at all you could hardly tell it had been in oil. Their mac and cheese is a little unique but super tasty and has a homemade feeling to it. The catfish had SO much meat on it and the pieces where huge. My husband had the burger and really enjoyed it, I did steal one of his onion rings and can confirm it's probably the best onion ring i've had. I also really enjoyed their sweet tea, it's not too syrupy and has a nice tea flavor. I'm looking forward to coming back and bringing other friends and family here to experience their food!

And their price is decent. Whenever we have friends and family who visits this is our place to go. However. The past 4 times we've been here. It's gone down hill. We kept giving them another chance because hey maybe they were off their game that time. But honestly, after our last visit ( a week ago). Never again will we return. My husband's burger was cold. There wasn't even any warmth to his burger when he took a bite out of it. All of our sodas were FLAT! no carbonation whatsoever. My daughter ordered a lemonade. She then told me to try it. I took a sip. TERRIBLE!! literally tasted like tap water with lemon juice. Just horrible. And disappointing. I don't know what happened to this place. But they really need to fix it. It's so sad that a place that we liked so much has gone down hill so terribly. Service was subpar and restaurant was clean. But their food is awful!

I recently moved to Clarksville and had compiled a list of all the places I wanted to try. I had…read moregone to every place on my list except Clyde's. The 4.1 rating on Yelp and mixed reviews regarding the consistency of the kitchen definitely had me tampering my expectations, but I decided to roll the dice and give it a try (I'd already been everywhere else and I value risking new experiences over relying on what I know - because even if it's terrible, it's just supper, not the last supper). With all that in mind, I was so pleasantly surprised by my entire experience. The drinks were incredible, the food was delicious (including the steak being properly temped and flavorful), and I had timely and wonderful service. Everyone from the host to the bartenders to the manager was absolutely lovely. I can confidently say that my experience with Clyde's has been the best of any dining experience in Clarksville. Definitely a gem of the area. Here's a breakdown of the specific dishes I ordered and what stood out. Fried Green Tomatoes (appetizer) Really cool idea with the trio here. Everything about this dish spoke to my ancestors. As a southern gal through and through, I love me a fried green 'mater! And you're telling me I can have a mater on a mater, pimento cheese & bacon on a mater, and grilled shrimp on a mater? Say less! I'm in. Really loved each pairing, but gotta say the grilled shrimp one was the best. I'd eat a whole tray of just that. Ahi Tuna Salad: straight forward, delicious, generous sizing Mahi Sliders (Bar menu exclusive) These were fun. Great small bite. Really enjoyed the element of the fried plantain in this slider. As a sandwich artist at home, real OGs know that often times texture / flavor is what sets something up for greatness (anyone who puts chips on their sandwich at home gets it). Loved the slaw on these. I think the only thing I would have done different is less sauce (I assume it's like a tartar riff, creamy, with bright acidity, hint of sour), but it's just not my favorite kinda sauce, but I'm sure I'm in the minority on this in the south and I accept that. 14 oz Ribeye with Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Broccolini - again straight toward. Steak was cooked to correct temp, juicy flavorful. I don't think the steak sauce on the plate is even necessary. The meat speaks for itself. Garlic mash and broccolini went perfect with it. So that's the food. Bar was also a beautiful surprise. First off- it's the only bar in Clarksville I've been to that had what I consider bar staples like Antica Red vermouth, Cynar, Montenegro (having digestifs in general in this town automatically sets them apart from any other spot). Then when it comes to the craft cocktail menu, I have to say Ryan knows what he's doing. Drinks were bright, balanced, and beautiful. I first had "Razzberried Treasure" (pictured) and there's nothing not to like about it. A razz gin sour? Yes please. Any day of the week. There were also some delightful surprises like "Cherry Bomb" which I had second, such a fun twist...love the fruit forward first note followed by a lovely back of the throat pepperiness (almost like szechuan-esque). Then I ended on the perfect one to end on - which was the aptly name "Almost 10:30" So yeah, 10/10. ‍ Clarksville, come here. Send new people here, first! Hahaha - set a good tone
